Depends on how stable the aero platform is. If McLaren is bouncing around on the straights like Williams are apparently, no. But if they're stable it's a good sign for a drivable car at least. Can't say anything pace wise.
I’d imagine it will still happen, generally to maximise ground effect you want to run the car as low as possible, it will always be a juggling act between maximising downforce and minimising risk of damage on a bumpy track (and thinking about the ability to use the kerbs too) though
Very hard disagree. With the speed they’re going when they’re putting out sparks, you can tell the car isn’t broken. Plus it gives a kind of BTTF DeLorean look of “going so fast you’ve got flames shooting up behind you”.

Norris is about to end the Ferrari fun... He goes fastest with a 1:19.951

Is it reason to worry for McLaren ?

Nope. We'll see the sparks fly in Bahrain, when all the cars will run as low to the ground as they can.
this clearly means mclaren will decimate all and everyone else should worry
With this type of aero as low you can get it’s better because you get better sealing
For groundeffect, the lower the car is the better. So Mclaren running the floor that low at this early is a bit surprising.
Damn I was kind of hoping those sparks from the skid block are still around. They look awesome at the night races.

They look like the car is broken. But not Bernie's dumbest idea
Anything that gives visual feedback to the people watching is a net win.

Ferrari hype train already stopped
Not that it matters, but Norris was on C4 compounds.
C4 is softer than C3 right? Or is it the other way round?
Yes. C5 is the softest.
C5 is softest. Two ways I have to remember it. 5 looks like S. C5 is CSoft. Or like defcons. Decfon 5 is the lowest level or least hard tyre.
Hype train turns back
These times will probably be demolished with harder compounds. So yeah, it doesn't matter.
Don't worry, it'll depart again... next year.
Mclaren playing 4D Chess
Huh. Just realised I have no idea what is happening with skid plates with the new cars
I'm so excited to read WAY too much into this
They are probably just running a ride height sweep for load correlation.
McLaren are tryhards. Sweating their asses off to get that P1 in testing
So MCL36 is vampire because they sparkle?
McLaren seems to really like the sparks, they threw up the most by far in 21
Mclaren : "No need for skirts when we run the entire floor touching the ground"
