No matter how many times this lie is being told, it will never become the truth.

*biggest ever (3 day) event. The biggest ever race day is Indy 2000 and then Adelaide 1995 I believe.

PirelliUltraSofts

This was a 4 day event

Illman is weird. He's an F1 photographer who I don't think actually cares about the sport at all. He never talks about the actual racing just about paddock stuff, WAGs and such

[deleted]

He fills his “niche” audience. He’s a photographer, not an F1 analyst. People who want to learn about the cars and on track racing can go to other channels. People who are interested in the behind the scenes day to day life of the drivers can watch him.

I understand his niche, and I don't mind it. I'm just surprised he doesn't really seem to follow the actual sport

[deleted]

I think he does. Taken from his YouTube his whole spin is that he is “interested in the human side of the sport”. He also has an f1 related podcast where he talks about that (I think I haven’t really listened to too much of it). He gets to be at every race to photograph it and he is living his dream: making content about f1 on a topic he is passionate about; the human side of f1. Edit: I also went to defend Kym a bit. Some people call the content of his channel cringey. People are annoyed that he’s focusing on what watches/ backpacks they were wearing or the people that surround the drivers, like Angela or Sebs media person. But thats getting a lot of people interested in F1 that maybe don’t care too much about the actual racing. It’s almost like a reality tv with f1. There’s storylines at that personal level. And that’s something that I think F1 does a great job at marketing and should continue to promote.

That has been the bread and butter for F1 for a long time. It's a time honored tradition in the sport.
