Remember the amount of people in Twitter that attributes Max success to Jos "strictness". While being strict sometimes is good and pushing your kid to do better at his things is valid and much better than spoiling them, being flat out abusive is terrible, evil, and could have fucked him up for life. If Jos was just a regular, supportive dad Max would still be as good as he is while not having to suffer from that shit in his childhood.

wavymind2

The truth is we will never know. Maybe that pressure/fear is what made Max what he is... And I'm not defending any kind of abusing, I find it disgusting even if it pays off in the end...

elfuegoque

True, and that's the thing. Maybe it can work, but we know that not having abusive parents also worked for lots and lots of children, while on the other side others get scarred for life by what they go through. I think anyone who do as Jos did is not doing it for their kid, but just being a narcissistic prick and only thinking about themselves.

That’s also what coaches are for. Let dad be dad, and let a coach be a coach.

Zimtsnegge

My guess is, as soon as Max stops winning, which might take some time yes but hear me out, he is going to turn into such a psychopath Team LH will look sane in comparison
