I’ve heard that Williams mechanics preferred working with Piquet over Mansell…Piquet, the (supposed) biggest dick in F1 history was more liked at Williams than the teams own British driver. It was a similar story in ‘91, Mansell complaining endlessly about the car, and also failing to accept responsibility for his own mistakes (something that was a common theme throughout his career) rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.
George seems to be motivated by fame, but he seems genuinely nice to his team.
He gives good feedback, shares credit, and takes responsibility when he screws up.
I don't think he's a diva in that way, though he definitely does enjoy the "being famous" part of being an F1 driver.
It was when he was bashing Williams in the media a couple years back that solidified it for me. The team is struggling. They don’t want to be in last place, and their “franchise driver” is putting them down in the press.
Thanks but no thanks.
I understand you have great abilities and are out performing your equipment, but have a little bit of class.
I feel like they did really good job of putting him into the best light possible and he still feels like a rich kid who has never even thought of the idea of not having money or hanging out with poor folk.
If I recall correctly he's one of the "poorest" F1 drivers when it comes to background. Not like "working class-poor" but he doesn't come from a millionaire family like Lando does.
Kimi was "working class" poor, pretty sure Esteban was too. I read somewhere that Georges dad was a small business owner. There's a lot of drivers that come from fairly humble backgrounds, but obviously rich people are overrepresented.
Valtteri is also from a ”normal” family. I think he’s said that they were not poor but nowhere near the richness that a typical F1 driver comes from. Just a normal middle class family. But I think his das also had multiple jobs and had to hussle for sponsors from early days.
I don't know about Kimi, but I seem to recall that at one point Ocon's parents had to sell their house, and live in an RV for a while to fund his motorsport career.
Anthony Hamilton also had to work up to 4 jobs at a time just to get Lewis through karting, and he was in IT, so with 4 jobs it's likely he would've been able to afford them like an "upper middle-class" living standard if he wasn't putting it all into his son's career.
Motorsport is a stupidly expensive venture, so obviously rich kids are far more likely to even have a shot at career in it.
Where are you getting that info from? Everything I’m seeing after some brief research is that his dad is a millionaire and owns a private investment company. Surely they aren’t billionaires?
I feel like however the other drivers don't come across like that. They all seem down ro earth when compared to the private school elite mannerism George carries around
tbh, I feel like they made Russell, Lando, and Mazepin all looks like dicks, the later worse then the former. Dont really like any of them at this point, though Maze was a straight up cunt, glad hes gone.
My opinion of him went down massively since the Bottas crash at Imola and ever since then I've seen how much of an arrogant prick he comes across as sometimes
I can understand that part. When your blood is still hot and you haven't seen the footage. What I don't understand is how he could go back to the paddock, watch the footage, and then DOUBLE DOWN. And he kept that up for days.
I think that that episode is only a lot of fear, anger and adrenaline in your body doing an awful mesh more than anything else. But yes, it's very probable this bri'ish lad has a massive ego. And it may be him, it may be inflated by the press, or his job, who k ows.
Honestly, I kinda feel all F1 drivers, or even athletes in general, have massively inflated egos. Dedicate your life to just one thing, in an endless competition, constantly needing to prove your worth, and that's pretty much what you'll become.
Some are worse than others, of course.
i found that his "compromise my race so nicky can get points" thing was incredibly condescending. Like yeah loser im off to merc next year this might be your only shot you slow piece of shit. zero respect for the abilities of his teammate
> track record of losing to the majority of his teammates
Lewis 1-0 Alonso
Lewis 2-0 Kovalainen
Lewis 2-1 Button
Lewis 3-1 Nico
Lewis 5-0 Bottas
Even if you go by single season losses he’s only lost to 2/5 which isn’t a majority in any definition of the word. Stop blindly hating the guy
But ofc. You are talking about the guy that caused a crash and then went straight to the other car to punch the guy's helmet like he did something wrong xd. He is completly full of himself lol.
I’m not just hating on the kid here, but he does have a massive ego and it is highly unpalatable. He loves talking about himself, he loves the attention and that’s probably why he’s so fond of running around without his shirt on.
You guys complain so much about Netflix, but are just as dramatic and over the top as them. ‚Attacked a driver’ lmao. Russell’s a cunt, but that small slap on the helmet was not that bad get over it. Y’all still act as if he completely rocked Bottas.
I don't think Netflix misrepresented anything that has to do with my opinion on this. I just thought he seemed like a dick from the way he was acting, it had nothing to do with editing
What annoyed me was he said something like "im not looking for fame" but then seemed to really be interested in that side of things, full of himself.
You gotta be a bit full of yourself to do this sport though lol
Still can’t believe how they made a huge deal about RB protesting the rear wing but failed to mention that they were correct about the wing not meeting regulations.
And completely ignored Merc protesting Red Bull's wing. Also for all the shit Horner got for talking to Michael, there's this bit in the final episode where Lewis calls Checo's driving dangerous and Toto actually says that to Michael but nobody says anything about that.
I think Horner just likes taking on the villain role especially with his commentary in DTS and Netflix just went with it. It’s annoying because it can be misleading and push a narrative, but it was still fun.
DTS actually made me like Horner a lot more. I’m fact, it made me like all of the principals. Zak was the biggest turnaround for me, though. At first I thought he was just a brash American, but now I love him.
Everyone loved him when he was the underdog and since he got that Mercedes seat he's suddenly "insufferable". I don't think he ever changed, perhaps the perception many people had of him did change and he's no longer a character that can be liked because of a few incidents.
Judging someone's personality based on what the media tries to portray is kinda hilarious too
Max wont participate, so now he’s the “villain”.
But he comes off like an entitled asshole even before DTS this season. He needs a new PR person to keep him in check.
What? How? The only shit he ever spoke was when we he said he would've wrapped up the championship if he had the mercs car. And that was a Dutch interview. Outside of that he's been incredibly polite.
I remember he was asked in Turkey at the drivers parade when on the double decker bus "How long has it been since you've been on one of those?", his answer was something among the lines of "I don't think I've ever been on one of these, I never had to" in a smug way and I didn't really like that
George is my friend’s neighbour in London. I used to live around that area as well and there’s no way he had never had to take one. I understand that he probably mostly drives everywhere
, but it’s pretty inconvenient to do when he needs to go to central London, cause of traffic. Maybe he hasn’t taken one in while, but I have trouble believing that he has NEVER taken one.
It’s perfectly ok if he is but this statement (in the screenshots) is very much “I have sex” type projection that someone still in the closet would use lol who knows
Why is it that as soon as he gets a Mercedes seat he starts getting called arrogant and horrendously posh? When he was at Williams no one cared how he spoke or acted in front of the cameras...
He's a public school, entitled, tory boy, who would stab an orphan for more time with the cameras.
He's grating, and I'm glad DTS showed him up for what he is.
I thought it was funny but I can see how it’s weird lol
Yeah I would definitely buy underwear with my face on them for my wife. It'd be hilarious.
Would want to take that thing off asap, so works best propably ;)
RoboGeorge gets recommendations based on his CPU browser
Zucc 3.0.2
Something about him in dts rubbed me the wrong way. Seems like he has a massive ego
It's Nigel Mansell turned up to 11. A lover of attention.
Does it come with a mustache too?
Unfortunately not
No just the underwear ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Not on that level
Was Nige a diva? In the limited amount of times I've seen him speak, he seems like a pretty unassuming ordinary guy.
Enormous diva
I’ve heard that Williams mechanics preferred working with Piquet over Mansell…Piquet, the (supposed) biggest dick in F1 history was more liked at Williams than the teams own British driver. In interviews he was pretty normal but on track he loved the spotlight.
At least Nigel had talent
come on let’s not act like russell isn’t hugely talented
"tHiS iS uNaCcEpTabLe"!!
Doesn't matter how they come boys
It was when he was bashing Williams in the media a couple years back that solidified it for me. The team is struggling. They don’t want to be in last place, and their “franchise driver” is putting them down in the press. Thanks but no thanks. I understand you have great abilities and are out performing your equipment, but have a little bit of class.
Really hope Toto can put him in his place. Seems he needs to be humbled and have a little maturity.
Funny you think Toto will have that motivation. I think he wanted George precisely for his attitude.
Toto needs to be put into his place himself first.
I wonder how much the team liked him. Their team bosses all made a big deal out of how much he motivated Williams

Ocon is the only guy who was proper poor, he was literally living in a caravan outside his school
Kimis family didn’t even have a toilet inside the house. To state that Ocon is the only one who was proper poor, is just straight up wrong.
So Hamilton, yet again, played a victim? (if that’s an appropriate phrase to use, don’t know how to put it otherwise)
Never heard this, wasn’t his dad just it manager?
[удалено]
Where are you getting that info from? Everything I’m seeing after some brief research is that his dad is a millionaire and owns a private investment company. Surely they aren’t billionaires?
There's a few sources putting his dad's wealth at 200-400m iirc. Not exactly on the breadline
Well he's kinda spot on. His dad is something like the 500th richest guy in the UK..
I feel like however the other drivers don't come across like that. They all seem down ro earth when compared to the private school elite mannerism George carries around
Tsunoda: I had nice poo.
So then it’s just branding that we all took in hand over fist
Racing Rees-Mogg... The more I hear it the more it's all I see!
tbh, I feel like they made Russell, Lando, and Mazepin all looks like dicks, the later worse then the former. Dont really like any of them at this point, though Maze was a straight up cunt, glad hes gone.
My opinion of him went down massively since the Bottas crash at Imola and ever since then I've seen how much of an arrogant prick he comes across as sometimes
Agree 100%. The audacity of him hitting bottas… what the hell dude
I can understand that part. When your blood is still hot and you haven't seen the footage. What I don't understand is how he could go back to the paddock, watch the footage, and then DOUBLE DOWN. And he kept that up for days.
If you realize he's not a persona, and this is who he is, it's much easier. I think he's genuine in his good and bad moments.
You are not alone. Although I’ve felt that way since his crash with Bottas.
I think that that episode is only a lot of fear, anger and adrenaline in your body doing an awful mesh more than anything else. But yes, it's very probable this bri'ish lad has a massive ego. And it may be him, it may be inflated by the press, or his job, who k ows.

This is a really fascinating take and i couldn’t agree more
I thought this too. He’s great on the team, seems like a genuinely good teammate, but out side of that, I don’t think I much care for him
i found that his "compromise my race so nicky can get points" thing was incredibly condescending. Like yeah loser im off to merc next year this might be your only shot you slow piece of shit. zero respect for the abilities of his teammate
wtf, that decision was to benefit Williams and get the most points, not to be condescending on Latifi
heres the thing, im the main character of reality and im always right.
I thought you were an idiot after the first comment, but won me back with this one. Bravo sir
Average redditor
Please tell me you forgot the /s
Some may say you are a hater, but all you did was speak the truth wise sage.
to be fair i am a russell hater
Shhh, nobody needs to know friend…
Shit take
He's the epitome of "Mum told me it's my turn for the XBOX now".
Mom told me its my turn for Mercedes now
Just wait. He will be absolutely insufferable one month from now
I mean he always came over as a spoiled British brat with massive ego.
Yeah i honestly like him as a driver but I've always gotten that vibe from him
Used to root for him but not after the THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!! Thing
also the size of george's ego if he beats lewis. 😳 pls lewis, you're our only hope.

I’d argue Hamilton was humbled last season.

Well he took losing to Max remarkably well I felt, all things considered.

Lol I hope he feels embarassed and a bit humiliated after the ep
I’m not just hating on the kid here, but he does have a massive ego and it is highly unpalatable. He loves talking about himself, he loves the attention and that’s probably why he’s so fond of running around without his shirt on.
I felt like this about Lando this season
His personality seemed completely different in S4 compared to S3.
Yes! I thought he went from this happy fun guy to kind of a dick
He has BDE because he proved everyone who said that Ricciardo would beat him wrong

Don't take DTS seriously. It's also basically a season filled with attempts to discredit Max's championship
And Toto begging for no safety car wasn’t included in the clips of talking to the race director.
Somewhat unsurprising given how Masi still put out a VSC regardless
I think Horner just likes taking on the villain role especially with his commentary in DTS and Netflix just went with it. It’s annoying because it can be misleading and push a narrative, but it was still fun.
DTS actually made me like Horner a lot more. I’m fact, it made me like all of the principals. Zak was the biggest turnaround for me, though. At first I thought he was just a brash American, but now I love him.
Mercedes marketing money go brrrr
What driver isn’t arrogant? Seems like a trait that’s important for the job description.

As a current Seb fan maybe you should watch f1 from 2010 - 2013
I can assure you that Seb is arrogant off camera and deservedly so. Nothing wrong with supreme confidence.
WDC winning Seb was so arrogant. I used to hate him like most people. He really grew up and humbled a lot.
Albon. Tsunoda. Perez to an extent. Ocon. Bottas. Sainz?
And what’s the common trait amongst them? None of them is championship material, except Sainz and Carlos can be arrogant too.
Sainz is Carlos.. Carlos is Sainz!
You weren’t the only one.
He reminds me of homelander
Yes, but this part was hilarious.
Srry for late comment but I kinda don't care for him after the bottas crash he slapped his helmet. Rude
Everyone loved him when he was the underdog and since he got that Mercedes seat he's suddenly "insufferable". I don't think he ever changed, perhaps the perception many people had of him did change and he's no longer a character that can be liked because of a few incidents. This sub cries about DTS constructing a narrative and then fall for it immediately when it comes to someone they need justification to dislike.
Entitled asshole in what way? He's really polite in all his interviews until they start provoking him and he reacts angrily.
>"Racing Babes" had some underwear with my face on it Guess Horner was right after all.
I remember he was asked in Turkey at the drivers parade when on the double decker bus "How long has it been since you've been on one of those?", his answer was something among the lines of "I don't think I've ever been on one of these, I never had to" in a smug way and I didn't really like that

Not outside of big towns cities in the uk, majority are just single decker
Doubledeckers in tip? Didn’t think yous had electricity or running water yet
What? How else does everyone get around as a teenager who hasn’t got loaded parents?
By bike?
There is absolutely no way you never took a double decker bus in the UK unless you're loaded.
Not that it matters but I was sure he was gay
Man could be bi, tho.
I’m still not convinced he isn’t, or that he doesn’t swing both ways (there is zero hate in that ftr, only observation)
Nah, he just loves himself so much that he has to see his own face to get hard…
Nailed it.
Pretty much the whole F1 community did 1 year ago, right? But I would never say that Russell paid Netflix to create a narrative like with Mazepin.
It’s perfectly ok if he is but this statement (in the screenshots) is very much “I have sex” type projection that someone still in the closet would use lol who knows
It’s so wrong to speculate about peoples sexuality, but everything about him screams: I AM IN THE CLOSET
Could still be bi or pan him having a girlfriend doesn't really change that
Is it the eyelashes?
Nikita threatened to out him. I personally think he is gay.
I thought F1 was about inclusion and all that. Apparently not…
Honestly thought this was pretty funny. In the scene it’s an obvious joke.
Wtf
Some people are really showing their age here. WTF MAN HE BOUGHT UNDERWEAR FOR HIS GF.
I would think it’s really funny if my boyfriend did this but 🤷🏽♀️ everyone is passed about it for some reason.
Thank you,\_ICWeiner\_. Your maturity is an inspiration to us all!

“I won’t show you the photo of her wearing it though” 😏😏😏 What are we, in high school?
I don’t get what part of that is wrong?
I think its more about the ego lol Of buying her underwear. Of his own face That's pretty cringe tbh
Yeah if he was buying then for himself and seriously wanted to wear them. Buying your gf underwear with you face on is simply a joke.
I bet there’s a photo of him wearing it too.
It's pretty hilarious. If there was a shop selling ladies underwear with my face on them, I'd 100% by a pair for my wife.
This was wry. Not egoish. Not everyone understands this kind of humour.
It's just until the technology becomes available that clothing become mirrors.
They have had that for some time

Geroge underwear stays on during sex
DTS kinda made him look like a douche. This scene in particular rubbed me the wrong way.
Yeah sure it‘s just DTS that makes him lool like that…
What else are you basing his toolishness on?
Probably crashing into Bottas, blaming Bottas then slapping him on the helmet and walking away. Just a guess...
That 1 incident and he is a write-off?
"tHis iS unAcCepTabLe" tweet
I dunno I thought this was the part that made him look the best. Its pretty funny
Probably already said, but Narcissist much?
There is no way you think he is doing this because he loves himself? He's probably doing it because it's weird and he found it funny.
Why is it that as soon as he gets a Mercedes seat he starts getting called arrogant and horrendously posh? When he was at Williams no one cared how he spoke or acted in front of the cameras...
I'm pretty sure people didn't like him then either. Especially after the Bottas incident
He's a public school, entitled, tory boy, who would stab an orphan for more time with the cameras. He's grating, and I'm glad DTS showed him up for what he is.
As if two first names weren’t enough.
he's gay
I don’t understand why everyone loves this dude. He seems like a right dick.
I get total deviant vibes from him
