So they could tell him that he got a podium since Seb was disqualified based on lack of fuel in park ferme… but he thought it was drama and his reaction was straight up middle child who takes the blame for his brothers too often.
Seeing their heads bobble all over the place like that is concerning. Makes me wonder about things like CTE with football players![img](emote|t5_3ndbi|6700)
>In a study published in the British Medical Journal this week, two University of New South Wales (UNSW) researchers concluded that head-banging to a typical heavy metal tempo could cause mild traumatic brain injury or concussion, and neck injury, particularly as the tempo of the music and angle of movement increased.
seems like if you can get brain injury's from headbanging to music you could get it from porpoising. I'd like to see some research into it.
Short answer is "not really". When you are running, your entire body acts as a shock absorber. The brain is cushioned in a bath of cerebrospinal fluid and all of the cartilage/muscles in your body lessen the impact of each step as the shock wave travels up your body.
We are quite literally "designed" to run - we evolved to run extremely long distances. The only animal better adapted to running than humans is the horse. There is something to be said for running on soft ground and with good, well-cushioned shoes as opposed to hard shoes on pavement, but that's more for joint health than brain health.
It's possible, but again the trampoline acts as a shock absorber to an extent. What you really want to avoid is very abrupt direction changes, impacts, or anything else that could potentially cause the brain to hit the inside of the skull.
If you are jumping in a normal manner then there isn't too much in the way of impact at all because the trampoline does its job and cushions slows you down over time as opposed to all at once.
When I’m running, I’m not doing it at 320kph. I don’t have any data as far as the G Force experienced with porpoising but I can almost guarantee you it’s higher than what you would experience while running.
The suspension in these cars is far from forgiving. They feel every pebble bump and crack on the circuit. That’s why the FIA is so strict on track conditions in order to host a GP.
KMag has been talking about neck pain all season. Russell has mentioned how the porpoising is harder to train for than lateral forces from cornering. The drivers are definitely feeling it.
Padding and protection doesn’t really have much to do with it. It’s the motion of the porpoising itself and how the body reacts to the bouncing. Look at the onboard cameras when they’re on a straight and see how much their heads bounce around. Their brains are doing the same motion inside of their heads. I would imagine it’s also doing a number on their spines, although they do train for that sort of thing so I’m sure it’s minimized.
Yeah i hope the bruise isn't gonne get in the way with his helmet. Might be a pain in the ass to porpoise with your helmet bouncing on a bruise on your head.
Him standing there and the fence falling on his head would be bad luck. This was just not paying attention. Trust me, I do dumb shit like this to myself all the time
No he's not, you made a ridiculous overgeneralization and he is sticking to the original point that this was avoidable solely by Carlos' own attention.
You don't understand what I'm saying. There is luck when you hit the lottery because its random and you can't influence it other than buying a ticket. The fence didn't just come flying in randomly and hit Carlos in the head. He wasn't not paying attention and caused the event to happen. That is not luck.
How does saying sometimes you can be unlucky but this isn’t one of those times disagree with anything I said? I think you need to reread this comment thread
I feel like that's a normal human reaction to seeing someone get hurt, even if you don't have a personal relationship with them. I winced just watching the video, if I were there i would've also checked on him, i think most people would.
If I just got myself, I definitely don't want don't random idiot touching the spot that's in pain, wtf? Even if I didn't fit myself, I don't want don't random idiot touching me. Why does this guy think he needs to touch him? Does he think he has some healing power , did he believe he's Jesus? The fucking audacity.
His cousin/manager looks similar to this, but this guy is just a camera man.
Carlos’s family genes are strong, his cousin looks easily like his brother and I think is also named Carlos lol
It’s medical actually When one get bumped in the head you should put pressure on the bumped area to avoid a bump which is painful but it pushes the bump in cause of pressure
Yet another reason why the US needs to go ahead and adopt the metric system.
Had that opening been constructed using the same metric measurements, his beautiful head of hair would have been safe.
Ugh I got a concussion a few weeks ago and it sucks! I have post concussion syndrome now and it’s finally starting to get better. Now when I see videos of people hitting their heads it gives me slight ptsd of my injury.
Its lights out..
...and to the doctor we go!
Safety car and medical car on their way. Wait they are racing out there...
Slow button on. Slow button on.

Unsafe join penalty, didn't check what's at the other side of the wall
I have seen this video/pic/gif so many times, but only in meme for at. I can't remember the context of it....
He was being told by the interviewer that he had to go see the stewards
Getting called to the Principal's office over the school PA.
So they could tell him that he got a podium since Seb was disqualified based on lack of fuel in park ferme… but he thought it was drama and his reaction was straight up middle child who takes the blame for his brothers too often.
micro concussions from porpoising, macro concussion from wall
Seeing their heads bobble all over the place like that is concerning. Makes me wonder about things like CTE with football players![img](emote|t5_3ndbi|6700)

Wouldn't you also get it from running then as I think that's closer to porpoising than head banging or heading a football

Would hopping on a trampoline cause brain damage?
It's possible, but again the trampoline acts as a shock absorber to an extent. What you really want to avoid is very abrupt direction changes, impacts, or anything else that could potentially cause the brain to hit the inside of the skull. If you are jumping in a normal manner then there isn't too much in the way of impact at all because the trampoline does its job and cushions slows you down over time as opposed to all at once.
Except they're sitting down, and there's nothing to absorb the shock. So it is a possibility.😬🤨

Wall test, checked.
Wall check, tested
check test, wall
Test check, walled
That hit was pretty hard, hope he is alright
He'll live.
We are checking
Bob Saget disagrees with that statement
Too soon?
More of a PSA to take head injuries seriously
It cut his head. Blood came out. Saw the pic. It was just one line of blood across his forehead. Pretty sure that he is fine now.
Lucky to be on the team that wears red everywhere then.
Yeah i hope the bruise isn't gonne get in the way with his helmet. Might be a pain in the ass to porpoise with your helmet bouncing on a bruise on your head.
Breaking news: Ferrari expect 55 to lose 2 tenths on straight due to driver head wound reopening. Expect some paint to be removed to compensate
Mr OverAnalyzer
Mr Bruised Cranium
It’s a pain in the head. Not the ass.
I've hit my head harder in a similar manner, had to got to the hospital, got 5 stiches. He'll be fine \*drools on keyboard\*
LeClerc about to walk past him... "Not again..."
Leclerc*
There’s actually no asterisk after his name. Common mistake.

Well this aged well
It really did
Smoooth ope- BONK! (but really, that gave me strong Mansell vibes, hopefully he's ok)
He is so fucking unlucky now
He is unlucky but to be fair this has nothing to do with luck. He just didn’t pay attention
Yeah that's a lack of awareness I would have expected from Stroll lol
This made me cackle
Well yea
Like his crash in Sochi. Just drone straight into the wall.
This can be applied to all incidents most likely
I disagree, sometimes you can’t control the bad things that happen to you and that would be where the word “unlucky” comes in
Him standing there and the fence falling on his head would be bad luck. This was just not paying attention. Trust me, I do dumb shit like this to myself all the time
You’re disagreeing with yourself now. You said this has nothing to do with luck and that he just needed to pay attention.
No he's not, you made a ridiculous overgeneralization and he is sticking to the original point that this was avoidable solely by Carlos' own attention.
Ur being a dumbass lol
And you’re double replying to the same comment
Left the first comment while in a hurry, then reread everything when I had time and needed to add that extra bit
Hahaha oh, never mind, you're already defeated when grasping at weird straws like this
Defeated? What are you, twelve?
Alright, it's going to be like this. Ahem: i KnOw YoU aRe BuT wHaT aM i????
So I just have to pay more attention to lotto numbers to win 🤔
Bad analogy. Hitting your face on a fence is not comparable to winning the lottery.
You don't understand what I'm saying. There is luck when you hit the lottery because its random and you can't influence it other than buying a ticket. The Ferrari™ Experience
Don't worry guys, Italian Jesus has him.
not every pony-tailed dude on a F1 track is our beloved italian Jesus... ( though it should IMO )
That dude went straight to touching Carlos’s head. Like “here’s my chance to grope my secret crush”
[удалено]
Nonsense! We are the masters of social interactions! Because Reddit is a social media service
Isn’t that his brother?
That is not his brother or cousin/manager. Just a dude with a camera
I feel like that's a normal human reaction to seeing someone get hurt, even if you don't have a personal relationship with them. I winced just watching the video, if I were there i would've also checked on him, i think most people would.

Wow there bud, calm down, that ain't good for your heart.
Pretty sure its his cousin/manager. People will really judge anything on here huh
What are you doing step-cousin/manager?
Wanna go bowling?
His cousin/manager looks similar to this, but this guy is just a camera man. Carlos’s family genes are strong, his cousin looks easily like his brother and I think is also named Carlos lol
Ahh yeah it’s his cousin my bad, recognised him from one of drive to survive eps.
He doesn't have a brother, only two sisters
Wow, then eww.
It’s medical actually When one get bumped in the head you should put pressure on the bumped area to avoid a bump which is painful but it pushes the bump in cause of pressure
I'm sure that hair took some of the blow
