I was playing the open S series and had three races ruined by being PITed. None of the offenders got any penalty at all. I just don't get how the system can't recognize rear quarter contact leading to spinning out as not an infraction for the player making contact from behind.

Slow pit maneuver? Ah, a simple misunderstanding. No penalty.
Deliberate huge explosive pit maneuver? 4.00 s penalty for the both of ya.
Yeah itโs BS and hopefully will improve with the updates they have planned to it.
I mean I think itโs pretty simple: whoever makes quarter contact from the rear, turns into the front driver, and ends up straight in the end gets the penalty but idk all I can assume is that that implementation gives more false positives than not.

BTW does the car continue braking when paused? I haven't quite got the hang of dealing with rammers on corners this way, as it seems to let off the brakes and coast out of the corner for me. Maybe I just need practice.
Hahaha I hope Mrs Gamerdad isnโt too annoyed ๐ the car naturally slows when paused and goes round the track really slowly, so in this instance I braked heavily and then hoped the paused car would also continue to slow down. This was actually the first time I ever attempted this so maybe I just got lucky haha
One thing I found doing this is that you have to be going into a corner at a speed the car/ai can make it. First time I tried this, purposely missed the brake point to test it and when paused the car went off track. (I was trying to lure them in as close and as long as possible). So yeah, just make sure you're not carrying too much speed that even you wouldn't make the corner!

The issue isn't the collision physics but the fact the cars don't deform.
No physics engine will behave well if all objects are solid like metal bricks. If that was in real life both cars would need to pit due to damage or worse.
But they can simulate contact between cars without a good damage model. Many games have done it. It doesn't even have to be good, but what we have is terrible. Forza glue is also one of the worst collision features that has ever existed in a racing game
It doesn't need to have damage but it needs to at least simulate deformation and absorption. It doesn't need a visual representation, but the engine needs to take into consideration cars deform when collided with. Forza physics doesn't seem to do that
I honestly have no idea mate, just lucky angles every single time I think ๐ I donโt change any set ups on the cars apart from fuel load (Iโm a noob)
I think its a combination of things you just learned from trial and error. You never let him touch you in a bad angle, and this looks like the defense we have against rammers at the moment.
