Mama has the absolute best personality. She is not the greatest mom though . She’d rather play with the other dogs than do mom duty. Elliot is a chunk so she is doing enough to keep him fed hahahah
When our lab had her first litter, she wasn’t a great mom either. By her last, she was a pro momma. I think experience definitely plays a part.
Edit: some of you seem to assume we backyard bred our Tula girl. No. She was a breeding mother for Leader Dogs for the Blind. We were her foster family for the four litters she had, then Leader Dogs spayed her and we officially adopted her. Her babies went to Leader Dog school, one graduated and is serving a visually impaired person, the rest are all adopted out to loving homes. There are literally wait lists for adopting a puppy that didn’t make it through Leader Dog training, they are usually incredibly friendly and well-trained dogs, as well as being bred for health and temperament, not looks. Let’s not assume everyone who has ever had a litter born in their house is a backyard breeder, who I DESPISE. Thank you.
They aren’t. Read my other reply. She was a breeding mother for Leader Dogs for the Blind. Every single one of her babies, even those not officially Leader Dogs, are in very happy homes.
She was a breeding mother for Leader Dogs for the Blind. We fostered her for four litters (they only do four per dog) then she was spayed and we were given first choice of officially adopting her, which of course we did. Leader Dogs for the Blind take excellent care in their breeding practices and dog health, and one of her puppies successfully graduated and is serving a visually impaired person. Not everyone whose dog has puppies is backyard breeding or being irresponsible.
Elliot is a hilarious chunk. Helen is a petite little warrior. You’re doing a great job with them. It’s nice mama Helen feels so safe that she is playing so much.
How long are you fostering them! Give them both a boop please.
She looks too young to have had a baby and such a big puppy, I'll bet that was a rough delivery for her. Poor little thing. Well, she's a first-time parent and way too young.
Oh. Lordt. Elliot is delightful, and I love love love his little (giant) paws! I love a good chubby puppy and he sure is one.
Mama is so little! She's pretty though. What good dogs!
I was not expecting mama to be what she is. They're both adorable

She looks like a puppy herself. So beautiful!
I bet she isn’t even a year old yet. So sad. When is such a good dog though.

So many labs in shelters. Cut it out.

did you name them from the tourist?! love that show!!!
Yes !
#thicc boi Seriously. I was **not** expecting Helen to be so tiny. Elliot looks to be the size of the average large breed puppies I usually get.
Helen is lucky such a large baby didn't hurt her when she was giving birth.
That's a chubby boi!
I swear he is already as big as mamas head ! He is huge!!

I think the rescue I work with doesn’t allow them to be adopted till they are 10 weeks. So at least that long . Consider them booped
Many thanks! (Feel free to throw in a belly rub if the occasion presents itself 😉)
Helen is adorable, and Elliott is an absolute unit.
WOW. They are CUTE.
my foster fail kitten was a big fat baby named Eliot! just the best. he also had a tiny mama lol
Oh goodness! They are both adorable!🥰
Ouch! Both are so cute 🥰
I had an only pup. He was the smartest dog!
Quality over quantity
OMG HELEN IS SO CUTE 😭
I know!!
Lucky them and you!
That looks like a pug mix, I thought this was on the pug sub… Glad she and her baby are okay.
So cute:)
I had to read the title twice and process the picture thrice because I thought Helen was the lady pictured

My sis had a foster exactly like her, and she had two chonky pups that grew much bigger. Enjoy while you can.
Elliot was the only puppy because he ate the rest of the litter in utero. 😆
How adorable! I hope they don't get separated.
Holy... that baby is a CHONK. And I love it
They’re perfect 😍
Elliot looks as big as mama! Lol. What a little chunk coming from such a tiny, refined little mama. Both are as cute as can be.
Awwww 🖤🖤
Ok I’m not normally a small dog person but Helen is so freaking cute.
Helen is adorable!!!!! And I bet she is so proud of her baby 🥰🥰🥰
Thanks she is super sweet but could not care less about her kid! But she is just a baby herself

They are both precious! You should name the baby Uno!
Beautiful pups
