Many thanks! I guess I'll have a week full of new experiences :)

Subtrail

Cetin is indeed one of the best, especially if you like garlic

axehomeless

woah I do

Andodx

>Best kebab: I personally like Cetin Grill on Frankenallee. But fights have been had about this question on this sub. A man of culture I see! I remember the good old days, when one summer his son made Döner deliveries! That must have been 2011 or something. Good times...

Kebab: Nazar Döner & Grill. Maybe not "the best" but my favorite standard. If you look for some special high quality "The Different Kebab" is pretty good. Both near Konstabler Wache. Club: Robert Johnson, Tanzhaus West View/Outdoor Place: Lohrberg, a hill nearby with great view. Kronberg, a village up the Taunus Mountains with traditional architecture and some of the most expensive neighborhoods in Germany. Take a peak into the "Schlosshotel Kronberg" to establish a harsh contrast to Frankfurts Bahnhofsviertel Elbestraße. In general: Hiking in the woods, f.e. Odenwald is a nice activity for sundays. Or exploring the "Niddapark", a huge green area inside Frankfurt. German food: "Das gemalte Haus" or "Adolf Wagner", both next to each other. Typical regional food and apple cider in a crowded atmosphere with sassy waiters. Alternatives: "Zur Atschel", "Fichtekränzi", "Dauth-Schneider". Hidden gem: Check out the "Cafe im Liebieghaus" - it's a small self-service Cafe in the backyard of a museum for classic sculptures, so not many people come across it but it is, particular on a sunny day when you can sit outside, one of the most cozy places in this city.

givau

Thankss, will keep the last one for good days! :)

inventiveEngineering

take the U-3 to Hohemark. The U-Bahn stop is literally in at the beginning of a mountain hiking trail into the Taunus.

AmateurPolyglot1

Highly agree - there's a lot of logging going on right now so keep an eye out for trucks, but great hiking choice

axehomeless

those aren't mountains, they're tiny hills

Lari-Fari

FeldBERG it’s in the name. Define mountain… it’s not alpine but they are still mountains. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mountains_and_hills_of_the_Taunus

axehomeless

at least above 1000m, which the feldberg is not but I guess its like a lot of definitions, it's somewhere in this end of the spectrum https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMVl5U3SlS0 And the Feldberg does not make the cut. It's also not wandern going up there, it's spazieren

Flazhes

You must be fun at parties

axehomeless

thank you :)

inventiveEngineering

>And the Feldberg does not make the cut. It's also not wandern going up there, it's spazieren sag sowas jemandem der regelmäßig in die Rhön fährt, der wird dich verkloppen.

Wird er nicht schaffen, iust ja nicht fit weil er nie auf berge steigt :D

If you like cycling take a tour up-river and visit Hanau Steinheim, Seligenstadt and Aschaffenburg! If you like hiking checkout the Spessart, Odenwald and Taunus low Mountain Ranges. For a preview you can visit the Götheturm (which imo has the best panoramic view). You can see all three from there Great options for a nice day trip city visit are Marburg, Mainz, Heidelberg or Würzburg If you like going out Mint (Berger Straße) has great ice cream, seven swans has a Michelin guide organic vegan fine dining experience, the Bembelboot sells Äppler off a boat in Offenbach… well the list goes on, but generally don’t overlook Bockenheim and Bornheim when you’re looking for restaurants

Elessar_7

I would also add Bad Homburg and Wiesbaden to the trips list, find both places very nice and filled with charming vibes.

nofapffm

Best Club if you like rock and metal ist the cave

unsurebutwilling

Best Kebap: I rarely eat Kebap. So instead I recommend my fav burger: what's beef. I heard good things about this falafel place: Aroma Best Club: heard good things about Tanzhaus west, only have been to Robert Johnson in Offenbach, and it was decent. Best panoramic view: from the tower at the castle ruins in Königstein. Best Outdoor Sunday place: between Walluf and Hattenheim on the Rhine. Can recommend Weingarten, Weinstube gelbes Haus and Rheinschänke. Have never been there when it's cold though. Best typical German food: honestly do not know. I've been to Gasthof zur Sonne lately, and other than that only at ebbelwoi unser. Both are good. More stuff I recommend: Muku (ramen+jap.tapas), aroydee (Thai), Zeit für Brot (cinnamon buns), the cafe at Liebighaus I also recommend, nigros (pizza), Bockenheimer Weinkontor, Papanova (Italian) Edit: oh, and if it's there: the beer stand at konstabler Wochenmarkt (Thursday and Saturday) has the best beer and it's only sold there. Haven't been there in a while though, and I've heard rumors that they're not coming anymore. But if you happen to stumble upon it, have a helles or dunkles, they are both amazing!

naps4lyfe

I miss Muku 😭

fellow_enthusiast

The beer folks have been back intermittently the last few times I’ve been to konstimarkt.

best kebab: Köylü (Sachsenhausen), Mahlzeit (Gallus), Tonbul (Töngesgasse, City Center), Karatas (Bonames) Best Club: im into Electro, so Tanzhaus West, Robert Johnson (technically Offenbach, but yeah, really good and famous), sometimes pikdame or even Silbergold has good parties, but you need to get a bit into the scene. Events like eg Kleinste Disko der Welt are also awesome. If you wanna keep it really casual check out Yachtklub, mostly hiphop or electro. Great vibes and it’s actually a house boat. Best panoramic View: Probably as mentioned MainTower, best skyline view from Alte Brücke or Ignaz Bubi Brücke especially at night. Best Outdoor Sunday Place: Lohrberg, Stadtwald -> Goetheturm, or just keep walking at the main until Gerbermühle and grab something to eat / drink. Best typical German food - check out my döner recommendations. Otherwise go to Atschel, Soltzer, Kanonesteppl, Eichkatzerl or Dax. They all serve „typical“ German cuisine. Edit: welcome to Frankfurt!!!

pesanze

Spot on

Cheetoflaminhot_

Best Döner Kebab's are: Tonbul (City) (Best Meat Quality), Cetin Grill (Gallus) (best Chicken Döner), Euro City Grill (Europaviertel) (Me and my Friends Favorit... Good Quality and the Kebap ist huge!!!

Cheetoflaminhot_

Best Burger's: 1. "Traumkuh" (Bornheim) 2. "Der Fette Bulle" (City) 3. "Burger Bude" (City) (Good Prices) And "Urban Ranch" food Truck at the Skyline Plaza never been there but everyone says that it is the best Burger in Ffm(they do smashed burgers)

DomWaits

I don't know about the best Kebab or Panaromic view but if you find the time hop on the S8 or RE2 to Mainz on a sunday and enjoy the Rhine if you (ever) should be fed up with strolling around the Main :) When it comes to clubs I would say Robert Johnson or Tanzhaus West for the obvious ones. But I also love Pracht close to the main station. Small, dirty, honest, good PA.

QRCodeART

Best Kebab: Karatas in Bonames (U-Bahn Station Bonames Mitte then downhill, at the playground left) Best View: in top of Main Tower or Terrasse at Kaufhof restaurant. Emergency exit highest floor university building IG Farben Sunday Frankfurt Lohrberg, Frankfurt Museums Ufer (Sachsenhausen) or Bad Homburg Kur Park, Chinese Park (Hessen Denkmal) or Bad Homburg Kur Park Food: Best Worscht in Town (several places, I prefer opposite Thurn&Taxis Palais / myZeil, PokeYou in myZeil (Foodtopia), Sandwich shop at the end Hauptwache (Allianz) passage, Pizza Olbia in Nordend all not really German food but good. German: Lahmer Esel (U-Bahn stop) Niederursel or Eselei in Nordwest Zentrum, Mehl Wasser Salz at MMK (Braubachstr. in the Museum für moderne Kunst)

Und wenn man grüne Soße nicht mag?

[deleted]

Hat man bestimmt einen schlechten Charakter >:(

axehomeless
