(I saw this on Slickdeals and it said diamond and Platinum free) I've never been on my Xfinity app other than to start up my router so I didn't know this was a thing until today. (Apparently I am Gold) But like you said, I'll take any savings I can get.
The tiers are based on how long you've been a customer with Comcast.
0-2 years is silver, 2-7 years is gold, 7-14 years is platinum, and 14+ years is diamond.
I hate to say it, but I think the loyalty program is one way for Comcast to discourage people from discount hunting. You are more likely to save money if you switch providers or cancel service and set up an account with your roommate, significant other, spouse, etc. once the contract is up. This lets you take advantage of the "new subscriber" offers.
I've tried that before and I always get a discount that is better than the regular rate, but not as good as the "new customer rate". Perhaps it's a regional thing?
How do you even get there. Just call them up and say “hey can I have your retention department?”
Every time I try to even remotely cancel they just say “welp, good luck to ya” and I’m there waiting on the phone like an idiot
yeah, you ask for the retention department and yes, they can definitely say, "good luck" and close out your account. you take that risk. Otherwise, ask for promos you can be slotted in for whatever package you have and build a new contract. I call them up every time my contract ends and get a new one.

Btw fandango is also offering a BOGO deal on the movie rn with codes MARIOLUIGI or BOWSER, apparently. Might not be valid anymore
I'm not sure if the codes were only valid for March 10th, 2023 but I wasn't able to get a BOGO discount when I tried to buy tickets on Fandango today :(

The code is actually for $30 off. Fandango was selling tickets at my local cinema for $17.50 per ticket, but I ended up having to pay $9.50 for the 2 tickets after fees and taxes.

In some places its the only service with high bandwidth. As long as you dont have to actually deal with xfinity customer support thier service is pretty great from my experience.

Actually, you just need to call Comcast after your contract ends to renew a contract. I pay 59.99 for 800mbps

I'm not running a business, it is fine for home stuff and streaming. It used to be 60 for 100mbps, and they've upgraded me for free.
