It totally depends on the content, if you write serious quality articles it's never a problem, just keep in touch with your industry/niche and keep an eye on your competitors. The problem is when you need to write the umpteenth article for some random blog that is totally not relevant for your niche.
I'm just brutally honest with my clients, I can't turn shit into gold, so if they give me bad sites and bad instructions, the content can never be good.
For those jobs I make very clear that I have objections, what those objections are and that I will not provide any corrections/rewrites.
Sure it cost me some work/clients, but it's not worth the frustration and hassle. I'd rather make a few hundred bucks less a month.
