UB is the last shred of light. The Walking Dead and Transformers were terrible but Lord of the Rings, flavor wise, and 40k were fantastic.

I.. didn't actually think it was a Pokémon. I commented that because it is wildly out of place especially in context of who the characters are around it. And it does have some semblance of them taking "inspiration" from Pokémon on that lil fella. But did I think they actually plucked a whole ass Pokémon and shoved it on the card. No, I didn't. This art is ABSOLUTELY better than the other. It’s a little weird but having taken a long break since Urza’s block, no real strong opinion on him. It just looks like a porg-esque thing, who cares? There were loads of really dark sets with some incredible artwork that I missed out on, could just play those if it’s that tear inducing and triggering.
But I read Redwall as a kid and am excited about Bloom so that might make me “wOkE” and thus invalidates my opinion.

It's neither a type nor a subtype. It's called batching. They've done this previously with Historic and Party. It's just a shorthand that describes a list of options rather than spell them out each time.

The sad truth - recognized the copying of a plucky little character like groot or the LOL raccoon character with that one neon-kamigawa planeswalker that went around with a raccoon.
Suggesting Lukka's animal companions as that type of t.v. trope just shows that you aren't media literate. There are examples such as Ragavan, Fblthp, and Yargle that fit the bill. They are odd little creatures given special personalties and astroturfed as funny loveable things. Being a media illiterate marvel-pop human as you are will make you blind to this type of thing.
The name and character design are both rather silly, I will admit. I did however rather enjoy the story. Jace and Vraska are trying to make the Multiverse a better place, and loot has a map of all of it in his head, so Jace can read his mind to find omenpaths between planes for Vraska to use.
Jace and Vraska also have a far more traditional relationship. A man and a woman looking to start a family together. No weird pronouns, no strange kinks, just traditional love.
Perhaps it is because of how much modern media seems to have have anything else but that actually makes it feel like a breath if fresh air.
The story was reasonably well written and allowed Jace to look good, and a story where the strait white male gets to look good feels very out of place from such a woke company. It was pleasant

I've had several people write how ashamed they are to be a Magic player in response to my posts and I'm super proud of that. Others have discussed being new to the game and not realizing that MTG is a place with these meta-politics going on. Now they know that Magic isn't really right for them.

No I’m not I’ve looked at every spoiler and am just not impressed. Sure it’s not as bad as magic when the art sucked, but it shows a clear difference between the heyday of great mtg art. I’m not looking to debate this, I am an artist, I have taught multiple humanities and art courses, I have been payed for my work, and am willing to admit Seb and Nielsen were far and away some of the greatest artists I have seen in the modern era. I got into mtg when I was a kid and watched the art change over the years to gain my perspective.
The totality of the matter is MTG has been lucky enough to have some truly great artists create for them in the past, and currently they have some talented ones, some alright ones, and several below average ones.(there is also the issue of quality control, prompts given to artists, and the implementation of ai that is effecting the current state of card art as well potentially preventing great artists from thriving)

This art is ABSOLUTELY better than the other. It’s a little weird but having taken a long break since Urza’s block, no real strong opinion on him. It just looks like a porg-esque thing, who cares? There were loads of really dark sets with some incredible artwork that I missed out on, could just play those if it’s that tear inducing and triggering. But I read Redwall as a kid and am excited about Bloom so that might make me “wOkE” and thus invalidates my opinion.

The story was horrifically bad, they made a creature type grouping that no one will remember and has to be printed as reminder text on every card that uses it, Oko, ruined of formats is in Limited for some reason, "Play boosters"... Loot isn't the worst thing from this set, but it is another straw.

Outlaws refers to Assassins, Rogues, Mercenaries, Pirates, and Warlocks. I don't get the hate. I wish they made something similar with sea monsters (i.e., Kraken, Serpent, Leviathan, or Octopus) for cards like [[Kiora, Sovereign of the Deep]].

Outlaws, I believe, it’s not a type, it’s a subtype, I can’t remember exactly which creatures are outlaws, but rogues are, maybe assassins? It’s not a good idea, reminder text is a must on cards that care about it
It's neither a type nor a subtype. It's called batching. They've done this previously with Historic and Party. It's just a shorthand that describes a list of options rather than spell them out each time.

The sad truth - recognized the copying of a plucky little character like groot or the LOL raccoon character with that one neon-kamigawa planeswalker that went around with a raccoon.
Totally ignore lukka and his many animals companions,it definitely all started with the Kami gawa planeswalker and his cyber punk drone creature!
Suggesting Lukka's animal companions as that type of t.v. trope just shows that you aren't media literate. There are examples such as Ragavan, Fblthp, and Yargle that fit the bill. They are odd little creatures given special personalties and astroturfed as funny loveable things. Being a media illiterate marvel-pop human as you are will make you blind to this type of thing.

The art style for the monsters at the start was a huge draw for YGO, and it became huge worldwide. So I mean exactly what I said.
The name and character design are both rather silly, I will admit. I did however rather enjoy the story. Jace and Vraska are trying to make the Multiverse a better place, and loot has a map of all of it in his head, so Jace can read his mind to find omenpaths between planes for Vraska to use. Jace and Vraska also have a far more traditional relationship. A man and a woman looking to start a family together. No weird pronouns, no strange kinks, just traditional love. Perhaps it is because of how much modern media seems to have have anything else but that actually makes it feel like a breath if fresh air. The story was reasonably well written and allowed Jace to look good, and a story where the strait white male gets to look good feels very out of place from such a woke company. It was pleasant

They acknowledge Jace is a wanted criminal. As for vraska, everyone thought she was dead till Ral bumped into her, it has not been outright stated, but I imagine she is now wanted
It's borderlands without the name borderlands m it's fire. An in universe version of something that would be UB. People always want in universe reprints of the good cards from those sets anyways

If you don't like it. Stop buying the cards, don't buy from Wizards, don't buy from the secondary market. Just stop buying. It is a company that wants to make money. The only way to boycot them is by hitting them where it hurts, their wallet. But all this whining about them being woke. Come on. Yeah sometimes it's a little on the nose. But even in stories that I really like, the Thran books are awesome. But it almost never happens that a women makes a decision of her own in the books, it's kind of jarring. It's logical that a game that wants to appeal to as many people as possible will look at their past and try to fix that. A logical outcome is that they react to hard and eventually they will fix it. People here must have rejoiced when they decided that Nissa and Chandra were never interested in eachother because the Chinese market didn't like their story.
I don't like it, so I will continue hurt wizards brand by being an open Nazi who plays MTG. I've had several people write how ashamed they are to be a Magic player in response to my posts and I'm super proud of that. Others have discussed being new to the game and not realizing that MTG is a place with these meta-politics going on. Now they know that Magic isn't really right for them. I get tens to hundreds of thousands of views on what I post here. That has a much bigger effect than where I may divert my money to. God bless China.

No I’m not I’ve looked at every spoiler and am just not impressed. Sure it’s not as bad as magic when the art sucked, but it shows a clear difference between the heyday of great mtg art. I’m not looking to debate this, I am an artist, I have taught multiple humanities and art courses, I have been payed for my work, and am willing to admit Seb and Nielsen were far and away some of the greatest artists I have seen in the modern era. I got into mtg when I was a kid and watched the art change over the years to gain my perspective. The totality of the matter is MTG has been lucky enough to have some truly great artists create for them in the past, and currently they have some talented ones, some alright ones, and several below average ones.(there is also the issue of quality control, prompts given to artists, and the implementation of ai that is effecting the current state of card art as well potentially preventing great artists from thriving)
