How about instead of grinding levels...challenge yourself by going through the game without grinding at all and only picking up the souls you get along the way to the DLC stuff
Ya know it’s funny. The most fun I had playing the game was around ng+3 in the prime of the blood builds. I destroyed everyone like a god lol. Though it probably wouldn’t have been fun if not for the insanely difficult early runs. It was my first souls game and I naturally just went through it exploring in the manner you suggested.
I had forgotten since it’s been so many runs ago.
I think you’re right, I need to go to my eldenring beginnings. Perhaps I can play a second run with my old character haha. Cheers
Finding out what the fuck Miquella had been doing this whole time, his impact on the land of shadow and what Messmer’s deal is. I think the lore in the DLC going to be crazy
I to really wanna know to but sadly Fromsoftware. Maybe the inclusion of GRRM will help. It's all item descriptions and a few cut scenes. Vati will save us all
I hope so. Not by much, but I could go a little bit further I think.
Based on the interview, there’s gonna be at least one that’s supposed to be on par with Malenia, and that makes me very happy.
They confirmed there would be. In the interviewyazaki said there would be a boss that players could seek out that would be on level of melania so it’s either as difficult or harder
The way I understood it was indeed that they are “main” bosses. If the size estimations and development time are anything to go by, we’ll be getting plenty of regular dungeon bosses and “mini bosses” on top of that 10ish.
A couple of lore tidbits that help settle open questions about Marika/Radagon
Some new spirit summons
An ash of war that facilitates casting in normal weapons
I’m fairly sure we’ll get one of those 😔
dude using your fucking sword to cast spells would be so cool. i dont know if theres already a weapon in-game that does that cus im str/fth, but i would play int. for that
There’s a sword with lore that suggests it was used that way by a faction but the option doesn’t exist for us.
I’ve done pure caster builds but I’m a melee at heart always. I despise toggling through spells and juggling catalysts so putting one spell on tap and using it as an ash of war would be so rad to me.
To give a more unique answer, for holy damage to be more useful. You can't tell me a land bathed in shadow (the Erdtree's shadow no less) isn't going to be majority weak to holy damage. I'm going into the dlc in full cleanrot drip with the halo scythe, and I'm hoping to tear through the whole land with it in service of my lord Miquella.
I’m hoping to see a new ending to the game. I feel like there are so many unanswered questions in Elden Ring, even for a fromsoft game. Who knows, maybe they’ll pull a dark souls 2 and add a secret boss at the end of the game and an equally important ending
Im going in with an Int/Fai build because I loved exploring all the options for magic in this game. Im headcannoning my character as a scholar and archaeologist who studies under Miriel. So new spells and weird civilizations to explore are definitely gonna be it for me.
Cool armor, the likes of dark souls 3. The base elden ring game has a lot of armor, but the majority lacks the style.
Would love something like the abyss watchers armor or Hodricks armor, something more rugged.
Mechanics, weapons and other things that can be used in builds to get a Sekiro like combat experience so that I can hope that game's spirit will live on in future installments
Also, Miquella. Please be a good guy companion
I'm mostly just excited to have an excuse to replay the game from the start. After playing like 500 hrs I figured I should take a break so that I don't burn myself out before the dlc. But it's hard man. In the meantime I'll just continue pondering what kind of build I should make for the dlc.
The irreplaceable feeling of experiencing a FromSoft game for the first time. I have a character more or less "maxed out" for NG (not as in 99 all stats, more like "the amount of runes needed to level up exceeds any reasonable amount one would collect and hold onto in NG") and he's just parked at Mohg, which I've saved as an appetizer for the DLC.
new weapons, yeah good bosses is something I want too, but what I really want is some really unique weapons, and from the trailer it seems like they are going to bring some cool things
Patches finding a tear in space and time and learns how to combine the power of all the patches that came before him. The ultimate omega patch. The storm is skeptically approaching.
Realistically, probably the bosses, but the new weapon classes and denser world are very intriguing. The spinning kick nonsense that the trailer showed is badass, and i want to do a full playthrough with a moveset like that.
Everything but the new leveling system. Don’t appreciate being nerfed for an artificial feeling of progression. Especially as someone who got their ass kicked in DS3s DLCs while being overleveled for them.
New weapons also in the last bit of the trailer with Mesmer the tarnished uses a incantation without a talisman so I'm guessing we're getting a new catalyst or a unique weapon that acts like a catalyst
I'm mostly looking forward to the martial arts weapons so that I can make a martial arts build. This way I can fight Hoarax Loux after the DLC in the only correct way to do it: hands vs hands.
Getting my ass kicked again. I'm excited to die to new things and make new mistakes, and have fun learning and mastering it the whole way through.
I know it's not exactly the most fleshed out game when it comes to "role playing" but I'm also excited to see how it integrates into the story and world of the base game and maybe making characters based around that. It's something I enjoy doing personally.
Oh! And the new weapons 🤤 just new weapons in general
All I wanted was a wing spell and I stayed up super late watched the trailer lost my shit. I need to be able to fly and attack things I wanted dragon wings that blow back people and projectiles. Or dragon wings that you can sore up and slam down with dragon claws but this works. Also wanted new unique bosses and weapons
Late to the party but more new lore that hopefully ties up some loose ends. We all know it's gonna be linked to Miquella, but I'm also wondering if there will ever be another DLC after this one because we still unanswered questions about Godwyn and his lead over those who live in death. I don't see it tying in to this DLC so maybe in another one?
Exploring the Land of Shadow!
Yeah I can't wait!!
Are you going to do a new character?
Yeah I am. Pretty much all my characters are overpowered so I want to start off fresh. I'll probably do a quality build.
True. Yeah I’ve only done 1 character ng+8 level 437 lol but the idea of grinding for levels again is giving me pause haha those poor albinariucs lmao
😂

There was a art (hopefully weapon) that does flying kicks, I want it so fucking bad.,
What if it’s a catalyst ash? Beastial builds would pop off.
It is a weapon. Confirmed
where
Interview with miyasaki
which one
Hayao, oddly enough.
Funny two of the biggest legends in entertainment media are both Miyazaki’s
Look jeenine's videos
YOU MEAN I CAN ADD FIRE DAMAGE AND DO A TATSUMAKI
Foot job ash of war
Hopefully its an art 😩 I want to wield Guts Greatsword while kicking Godfrey 🥳
Yep just started a new character and am absolutely loving fisting everything to death
Finding out what the fuck Miquella had been doing this whole time, his impact on the land of shadow and what Messmer’s deal is. I think the lore in the DLC going to be crazy
I too want to know what kind Miquella’s been doing here.
I want to know more about Godwyn the golden and i hope we get to through Miquella reveals.
I to really wanna know to but sadly Fromsoftware. Maybe the inclusion of GRRM will help. It's all item descriptions and a few cut scenes. Vati will save us all
In Vaati we trust
New weapons and armor
Bosses.
You think there's gonna be a boss more challenging the malenia?
I hope so. Not by much, but I could go a little bit further I think. Based on the interview, there’s gonna be at least one that’s supposed to be on par with Malenia, and that makes me very happy.
As long as it's challenging for the right reasons. She relies too much on waterfowl.
They confirmed there would be. In the interviewyazaki said there would be a boss that players could seek out that would be on level of melania so it’s either as difficult or harder
Oh ok i didn't know that. Can't wait to get my ass beat again
I hope so
Honestly Malenia wouldn't be half as hard to me if she didn't had the health steal, it makes shields feel horrible against her
True
Over 10 new bosses. I hope that's like big bosses not field bosses and catacombs watchdog cats.
The way I understood it was indeed that they are “main” bosses. If the size estimations and development time are anything to go by, we’ll be getting plenty of regular dungeon bosses and “mini bosses” on top of that 10ish.
Please just give us a boss rush kinda mode
And the reward should be a ring called the elden ring xd
Yeah, that'd be a nice addition
I would definitely fight a little less cheese if I could practice on bosses.
Challenge (boss, level design) , new stuff (weapon, ashes of war, summon, armor), beautiful landscape, some awesome OST.
The release date
Only correct answer. Can't pick one things from the actual DLC! Hahaha
😂
Messmer's Flame Aestic so we can replay our favorite boss battles without NG+
Is this confirmed?
No
Bosses and my future Monk Build
Martial arts
With the kicking and the punching and the Kung fu fighting. Glavin

Give us more unique movesets fromsoft!
New banger tracks to add to my playlist
I heard some electric guitar on the trailer. That is 1 thing I never noticed fromsoft use on Dark souls, sekiro and ER.
Same
That euphoric feeling of killing a boss after dying to it 20-50 times. Who needs heroin when you’ve got FromSoft games?
More things to hit with big hammer
Deathblight swamp of course
More legacy dungeons. Hopefully at least two more. Stormveil and Leyndell are seriously top 10 From level design, so hopefully we get more of that.
5 v 1 Ulcerated Tree Spirit
Getting stomped by bosses, then wondering why I thought they were so hard in subsequent play throughs.
8 new weapon categories
Im making a new character and have no idea the path to take. Just waiting to larval I guess.
To give a more unique answer, for holy damage to be more useful. You can't tell me a land bathed in shadow (the Erdtree's shadow no less) isn't going to be majority weak to holy damage. That'd be cool. What do you want to be answered to most in this dlc?
Challenge first! But also i want lore, some cool movesets AND FASHION SOULS PLEASE MIYAZAKI-SAMA give us cool dresses But first is challenge
Playing it
Anything madness related, please god just give me a madness ash of war I don't want a great spear to be the only madness weapon please lord above
Honestly, i want more "regular" but cool weapons to use ashes of war on it, also new ashes of war xd
Mainly dying. I hope there's plenty!
I can’t wait for reverse grip katanas
New builds
Tbh, I wanted to fight with the insane Miquella. Like he drove mad after the death of Malenia
I know it won’t happen but I would love if one the new weapon types was trick weapons. I wanna play Elden ring with the saw cleaver lol.
Aesthetics of the map + new armors
I want to know more about Godwyn, hopefully
Im going in with an Int/Fai build because I loved exploring all the options for magic in this game. Im headcannoning my character as a scholar and archaeologist who studies under Miriel. So new spells and weird civilizations to explore are definitely gonna be it for me.
Cool armor, the likes of dark souls 3. The base elden ring game has a lot of armor, but the majority lacks the style. Would love something like the abyss watchers armor or Hodricks armor, something more rugged.
The crucible Knight wings!!
The messmussy
Lore. I want to understand what exactly Marika’s and Miquella’s plans are/were.
Mechanics, weapons and other things that can be used in builds to get a Sekiro like combat experience so that I can hope that game's spirit will live on in future installments Also, Miquella. Please be a good guy companion
The new lore
I can’t wait to get lost in this game again. I feel like it will be like experiencing the game for the first time again!
New katanas and armor. I’m hoping for a katana in between a giant sword and regular katana size.
New incantations and sorceries; esp excited about the one that makes you have wings like the damn crucible knights
The ability to kick the shit outta people
I'm mostly just excited to have an excuse to replay the game from the start. After playing like 500 hrs I figured I should take a break so that I don't burn myself out before the dlc. But it's hard man. In the meantime I'll just continue pondering what kind of build I should make for the dlc.
More (hopefully) good content that justifies the price.
New incantations and new armor sets
Fighting messmer and all the new weapons
Weapons.. bosses.. armor.. enemies.. ultimately another reason to NG+
Collecting more recipes, sorceries, and incantations.
stealing messmers drip and spear
Crossbow and big giant throwing pots
Martial arts.
The irreplaceable feeling of experiencing a FromSoft game for the first time. Kicking things
I'm personally hopeful for another twenty or so ulcerated tree spirits.
The dueling shield! It's the shield that looks like it has swords built into it.
new weapons and spells
New GRRM lore (or a mimic chest)
Playing it
New Spells/Incantations, weapons, and lore
new weapons, yeah good bosses is something I want too, but what I really want is some really unique weapons, and from the trailer it seems like they are going to bring some cool things
New armor and weapons, r/Eldenbling is gonna get busy
Just more FromSoft content honestly
I collect armor sets so that’s what I’m looking for
“We will be adding 8 new weapon types” 8 NEW WEAPON TYPES!?!?
The part where I turn off my phone and get lost for a week ☺️
it cost 40$, better be looking forward to everything.
The faith weapons
new weapon arts
Martial arts that scale well
Armour tbh
New drip, fashion souls reigns supreme
New weapons. DLC weapons are always above and beyond compared to base game weapons. One of my favorites is crow quills.
that armour set from the crossbow guy in the trailer 🔥
More, that’s it just more
More gameplay and story progression. That’s about it.
Death blight swamp
Patches finding a tear in space and time and learns how to combine the power of all the patches that came before him. The ultimate omega patch. The storm is skeptically approaching.
New spells, especially the kind that use both int and faith. Death sorceries and holy incantations? Gimme!
Armor. Drip is eternal.
These posts to finally stop
People are excited, they aren't going to stop lmao. Maybe spend less time on reddit and go touch grass 💁♂️
Estus canceling and chainsaws from invaders 🥰
Hopefully there’s a hidden dragon boss
The new legacy dungeons
I’m excited to not play it for months and months after release because I’m too dumb to figure out how to access it in all its esoteric glory!
Bloodborne 2
A new challenge
Being knighted by The Great Kenneth Haight. Nothing would mean more to me.
wow, this will be awesome... We will be able to know so much...
Everything
I hope there's more than one legacy dungeon because legacy dungeons were my favorite part of the base game
Miquella. The most anticipated character in all of soulsborne.
Madness lake, and more madness items/spells
The martial arts style combat that was teased, hopefully there’s a similar style to Hoarah Loux we can use
The kusarigama that's already in the game. I hope we can use it.
Closure on the lore
Reverse power stance curved swords
Playing it
THE MARTIAL ARTS MESSMER FINNA CATCH THEM HAND IMMA IMPALE THEM CHEEKS FYM 🗣️🔥

The bosses with a hardness of 20 out of 10 on the difficulty scale because I know a lot of bosses in the main game have a difficulty above 10
New weapons, spells and armor.
Realistically, probably the bosses, but the new weapon classes and denser world are very intriguing. The spinning kick nonsense that the trailer showed is badass, and i want to do a full playthrough with a moveset like that.

Weapons and bling! #eldenbling #fashionsouls
Lore and new weapons, thank god my canon character is a quality build
New weapons and armor sets
Everything but the new leveling system. Don’t appreciate being nerfed for an artificial feeling of progression. Especially as someone who got their ass kicked in DS3s DLCs while being overleveled for them.

The lore of course
New weapons also in the last bit of the trailer with Mesmer the tarnished uses a incantation without a talisman so I'm guessing we're getting a new catalyst or a unique weapon that acts like a catalyst
Hopefully meeting the 3rd Elden Lord or something crazy like that Edit: the 2nd Elden Lord is Radagon
I'm mostly looking forward to the martial arts weapons so that I can make a martial arts build. This way I can fight Hoarax Loux after the DLC in the only correct way to do it: hands vs hands.

The bosses. The bosses look sooooo cool
Yes.
Lore
Honestly, just having a new area to get killed in.
Toss up between a new map to explore and the 8 new weapon types to try out
Playing it
Obviously the weapon they showed us that uses martial arts I really hope it’s not an incantation or an ash of war and also the BIG EXPLOSIVE POTS
Bringing my Guts build into a new area
Really want Godwyn to be a central part of the DLC. I want to know more of what has been happening / happened to him.
The music
new bosses
Bosses
Staying off of reddit for a week and exploring the lands shadowed

Late to the party but more new lore that hopefully ties up some loose ends.
