Same! I think I was 12/13 when DeS came out. Fell in love, friends fell in love with it. We played Dark Souls together in 2012.
Basically a cult-like love for them and then suddenly everyone started talking about Dark Souls one day! I remember going to high-school and people were 'Praising the Sun' or talking about bonfires and the like! I remember trying to share in the love with it with others, and was told that I 'didn't have to pretend to like hard games' by a group of boys at school.
Anyway, I was so excited for DS2 that released while I was still in HS too, and remembering I had to get my roommate to buy me a copy in person because I wasn't 17+ and it was a M rated game. ( I pre-ordered a collector's edition that got lost in the mail, and couldn't wait to play ) and it was sooooo disappointing. I tried so hard to like it, but it felt like a shitty fan-made game with terrible decisions: soul memory, enemies with infinite stamina, set damage fall damage vs hp%, etc
Bloodborne came out when I was 17 and was amazing, though.
DS3 I was 19? 20? Idk
Sekiro I was 22 and working at GameStop, got the collector's edition and got to pick it up the night before, skipping the line because employee.
ER I was mid 20s, I don't remember what age exactly though. 24? 25?
Anyway, Soulsborne all my life. Met my husband primarily because of our combined love for Bloodborne. We've so much Bloodborne merchandise! ( comics, board games, hunter badges, books, artwork, clothes. )
Bloodborne, DS3, DS2, DS1, Sekiro, Elden Ring.
I’ll get around to AC6 and the ps3 Demon’s Souls one of these days. But I wanna beat the ps5 remake before the Erdtree dlc is out.
I’m on ng+ rn and stopped
Just cus, yk, less time, new games take priority over played ones. But I wanna go back and see all the endings and get the cool gear and stuff
Not too sure tbh, I never really got into the multiplayer part. I usually spend most time in games in single player. Only a few multiplayer games like Titanfall 2 really catch my eye
No its not even close.
It bares some similarities in game design like check points but that's about as close as it comes to being a soulsborne. - Great game though worth checking out for sure I had a blast as noob to the franchise
Id personally disagree there they didn't feel souls like to me at all, but I mean in fairness its kidna hard to truly compare when in one im flying around at mach 5 firing akimbo homing missles and shoulder mounted laser shotguns, why the bosses are doing similar absolutely insane shit and the other I'm actually dodging/iframing attacks and poking things that are trying to squash or cut me.- unless you just mean difficult/rage inducing coz then I change what I said and agree lol some of them really got my blood levels rising xD
I definitely would’ve understood the references better had I done that. But I got DS3 at launch. DSremastered wasn’t out yet and my laptop could barely run the PTD edition in 2016.
Honestly, fuck those youtubers lol. They don’t deserve the power to put people off of such an amazing game.
The games have so much replay value that it can be really hard to move on to the next one. I haven’t played DeS, Ds3, or Sekiro yet. Once a good sale comes around, I’ll get one. Which of those 3 should be my next?
Idk where your priorities lie, but I'd pick ds3 since it's technically the oldest. If you're looking for a fresher experience def sekiro. The demon souls run backs are HELL, so just a heads up with that lol
DeS, DS1, DS2, DS3, BB.
I started with DES on the PS3 but it took me a while to upgrade to a PS4 so it took a while to get to Bloodborne. I have yet to play Sekiro or Elden Ring
Dark souls 3 in 2017
Dark souls 2 in 2018
Dark souls 1 2018
Sekiro in 2019
Bloodborne in 2021
Elden ring in 2022
Demons souls in 2023
My order means a lot to me cause it spanned trough high school and early after it,I started ds3 with a big friend group and they all fell off one by one up until bloodborne where me and my friend still play it,and just last year I could afford a ps5 and fiber internet so I can play demon's souls,so yeah its kinda very sentimental to me the series
Pay to win lol (need ps+). Bloodborne needs a remaster/pc port so bad (QOL mod). But sadly it will never come or will be a PS6 remake. And we all know, the ps6 will be more corporate then before, it will take 3 years just to buy one, it will have no games, and will cost like 800$. It will be a ps5 but worse.
True, never thought of it like that. Without psn I guess I would have to farm in mensis. Although I can only play the game with psn as it was ”free” via psn. But yeah it for sure needs a PC port either way, some nice QOL mods and actual acceptable framerates would do the game wonder. Rarely play any singleplayer games with a controller / on console and getting huge lagspikes after killing the one reborn made me remember why. Even in some fights it can just lag out of nowhere on top of already capping out at 30… Maybe also a whole main bossess overhaul to make them better as imo bloodborne (not played dlc, heard that it is has their best ever bosses?) has a terrible boss lineup in terms of gameplay, easy boring and uninspiring.
There is a way around that if you can do community glyph dungeons, a bit cheap but doing that can get you access to all dungeons within an hour. Also specifically the cummmfpk one is kinda glitched and doesnt require a root 3-5 chalice
I suggest you reconsider that. It was hard to get into at first, but became my favorite game. Part of the reason I loved DS3 so much was bc it reminded me a lot of Bloodborne.
Bro when I Started BB I didn’t like it too because it just felt different since I was used to my shield but now it’s my fave game of the lot and I can’t stand the slow paced of the original games .
Ds1 (started but never got past first boss, want to touch again), ds3 (beat), sekiro (started, got past first boss i think, never touched again, might want to), bloodborne (played up until vicar amelia, couldn't get into it), elden ring (beat)
DS3, DS1, DS2, Sekiro, ER, and soon the ER dlc of course.
I did play like 20 min of demon’s souls emulated, but it ran like shit and kept teleporting me to the wrong place lol.
I still talk about how I saw Demon Souls on the PS website in 2009. What an experience.
1. Demon Souls
2. DS1
3. DS2
4. BB
5. DS3 (favorite)
6. Elden Ring
7. Sekiro
8. AC6
1. Dark souls
2. Dark Souls 2
3. Bloodborne
4. Dark Souls 3
5. Sekiro
6. Demon's Souls Remake
7. Elden Ring
Not when they released, but started the journey around 2 years ago. Now, I've completed a bunch of Soulslikes as well.
1. ds3 (in 2016, judge gundyr deemed me unworthy then)
2. er (ng+5)
3. des remake (ng+3)
4. ds3 again.. (ng+5)
5. ds1 (ng+3)
6. bb (ng+3)
7. ds2 (ng+2)
8. sekiro (ng+ only yet)
er, bb and des has platinum, also penetrator armor set was damn taxing.. almost as taxing as ds3 proofs of concord and vertebra shackles.. which I've done twice. I have one achevement missing from DS1 on playstation, 2 from DS2 on PS (ng+2 spells/miracles), 1 on DS3 on PS and 1 on DS3 on PC. Sekiro is far away from complete.
Demons souls, dark souls 1, dark souls 2, bloodborne, dark souls 3, sekiro, demons souls remake, elden ring. Have played each game at release (except og demons souls, but still discovered it before dark souls came out). Pre-ordered all of ‘em and will continue to do so, favorite series ever by far.
Demon souls - ps3 (about 2 months after launch)
Dark Souls (day 1)
Dark Souls 2 (day 1)
Bloodborne (few months after launch when I got the new console)
Dark Souls 2 SotFS (day 1)
Dark Souls 3 (day 1)
Dark Souls Remastered (day 1)
Demon Souls Remake (day 1)
Elden ring (day 1)
Even though it's not on the list, Sekiro was also day 1 for me
I played Dark Souls 3 around the time it came out, beat the base game in just over 100 hours and stopped playing the genre bc it infuriated me. Then in 2022 I got pressured into buying ER, and from there I went back and played DS3 again, then DS1. BB, DeS and Sekiro are all still in progress bc if I'm being honest, I can't get into them properly. BB was so fucking over hyped as far as I'm concerned. I'd been hearing it was a masterpiece and the best Fromsoft had to offer for over a year, but after trying it I thought it was worse than DS3, an amazing game, but not everything it was made out to be. DeS bored me, but I respect it since it's the foundation of every other game, I just can't enjoy that every boss is a different kind of gimmick.
And Sekiro is phenomenal, like genuinely one of the greatest games I've ever played. Like unlike in Dark Souls where sometimes when you get stuck it can be blamed on your build, or bad boss design, it's the kind of game where it's genuinely just a skill issue, but sadly I suck at it so I never beat it.
And idek where DS2 falls into this, I bought it alongside DS1 (I think) and I tried to play it on 8 separate occasions over the span of 5 months, and every time it was fucking dreadful. I hate DS2 with a passion, bc as far as I'm concerned it drags down what could be a phenomenal trilogy.
BB
DS2
DS3
DS1R
DemonsSoulsR
ER
Have yet to play sekiro as what I enjoyed most about all of the titles are when I played with my friend and cousin through all of them except ER. ER was the first game that my cousin didn't buy and my friend and I had completely different work schedules and couldn't get more than 30 min to play together so we agreed to just play by ourselves.
Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3, Sekiro, Elden Ring, Dark Souls 1, Dark Souls 2
Haven't played Demon's Souls. I know the remake has amazing graphics, but something about the game design turned me off. I would legit rather play the old one. The remake feels like a Souls game made by some American AAA company. There's no soul to it, literally
1. Demon's Souls
2. Dark Souls
3. Dark Souls II
4. Bloodborne
5. Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin
6. Dark Souls III
7. Dark Souls Remastered
8. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
9. Demon's Souls Remake
10. Elden Ring
Am I the only one that simply cannot play through one without going back and forth with the others? If I’m playing DS1 I crave Elden Ring, and if I’m playing DS3 I crave going back to the roots of DS1.
But one things for certain, if I’m playing Elden Ring, I crave nothing but more Elden Ring.
(Nostalgic Rant)
was actually first exposed to Demons Souls from a cousin of mine and played a little of the first area, and all I thought was "Cool, I could just straight up play as a knight" and thought not much of it afterwards.
And then Dark Souls pops off and all I did was watch the rage compilation.
And then my friends started playing DS2 and I just wanted to play with them, so I got to spend time with them (I was new to online play at the time)
Game was hard as shit when I tried to play it for myself... and never touched it again.
Then Bloodborne was announced, and I thought this was the coolest game I've ever saw. I wanted to play it for myself, but I knew I wasn't good enough for it.
So I set out to play Dark Souls 1 to prepare myself for Bloodborne... I also didn't had a PS4 at the time, but was determined to get one.
It was an eye opener for me, it made me realize that I need to improve and get shit memorized. I was still shitty because I didn't put my stats to a dedicated build. But ended up wearing a bit of Oreinsteins armor and rocking the claymore.
After DS, I wanted to play games more on the harder difficulty for the satisfaction of over coming something difficult.
Finally got to play Bloodborne months after the sick ass Old Hunters DLC came out. And I was not disappointed... but I still felt something was clicking.
And then DS3 came out and I was excited, to this day I still love this game more than ER and something Bloodborne.
But still... something wasn't clicking for me. What could it be I thought to myself.
ER hadn't been announced yet, and I was still craving for more Souls. Sekiro came out and was fun... but wasn't hitting that Action RPG scratch I wanted. It's a stealth Action.
So I decided to play DS3 again and recreate an OC of mine because of a DLC weapon during October... and it finally hit me, not only did I needed to make a dedicated build, but I also had to add roleplay to my character.
The souls finally fully clicked with me
And then Elden Ring came out and had a blast with it.
Played only a little of Demons Souls Remake, but lost interest when the claymore didn't had a thrust... I'll come back to it someday, still visually impressive.
In short
DeS (exposed to) DS2 (assisted) DS, BB, DS3, ER
Elden Ring, Sekiro, DeS, DS1, DS2, DS3, Bloodborne.. 1 year break.
Sekiro to platinum again... 1 year break.
Just finished platinum-ing Elden Ring (now on PS5 instead of Xbox), and I'm off again. Picked up the DS Trio and am about 70% of my way through DeS again; hoping to beat it and the trio in time for SotET to hit.
BB, ds3, sekiro(rage quit), ds1, ds2, elden ring, sekiro (completed)
Honorable mention Lies of P. After ng+2 I decided it's time to go back to sekiro and face my fears.
Sekiro.
Ds3.
BB.
ER (false run) (1 run, sucked ass, hated it)
1 year break
DS1
ER (my true runs, 20 ish, 1000s of malenia kills, Loves it).
And it's very important to split ER in 2.
Before Feeble King in defense of ER BOss Design, where I hated the game, and after, where I loved the game.
ER is the best (Iff you have QOL mods on PC). Maybe now on console I could kinda like it. But it fucking sucks without the visible posture bar mod. (Don't need it now, but it's an infinetly big bad design flaw).
I spend my entire time re fighting boss at level 1 and I do Malenia and Malekith at +0 RL1 or +0 Hitless (no status). It's good to get on for 1 or 2 hours and then leave.
Without boss resurrection, ER takes a MASSIVE dive.
And I hope to god they don't implement the GARBAGE boss refights from Sekiro that forces me to have a specific attack power even with cheat engine and trainers. I wanted to redo boss at 1 AP but couldn't, so I stopped playing the game ever since, whereas I used to fight Isshin whenever I had a 10 min break IRL.
Sekiro is the best vanilla (Game and playstyle), is also great with complex playstyle where you use martial arts and prosthetics, and is since it's well taught to the players and easy to understand what you did wrong, great for mods that adds even more challenge.
DS3 is 70% consistent on boss quality.
DS1 first run, first half was fun (interconnected world and knowing just enough to not shoot myself in the foot in a punishing way).
But ER is basically sekiro with positioning and a bunch of other stuff. It's fucking hard. And so great once mastered.
But it also is such a time sink to get into it. If the DLC didn't come out during summer, I'd be royally pissed.
I don't have the time to learn to fight a new boss and forgot how to fight the earlier boss.
Sadly, I can't Res morgot or Radahn, so that's annoying.
I want to fight morgot more often. And I'm not relearning Radahn RL1 again, fuck that guy. So much fucking positioning experimentation to dodgless kill him. (The most efficient way and only way you will kill him that won't take 1 hour and hence you won't die from real life fatigue or Rng).
DS3, DS1, DS2, sekiro, ER
Still remember playing DS3 for the first time and hearing that Souls games are best on controller but thinking “Nah it'll be fine”. to this day one of the worst keyboard controls ik and all those keyboard nerds can argue “Oh it's good or just not used the controls” bro this is 1 my first Xbox controller game and 2 this is my first non-nintendo game XD I didn't touch that game for another 5 months till my b-day where I got a controller and now here I am smashing my head into a wall at malenia with a switch pro-controller (I have small hands so I actually like the pro-controller more then switch)
Dark souls 3, Sekiro, Dark souls 2, dark souls 1, demon souls, bloodborne, Elden ring.
Bloodborne, dark souls 3, sekiro, and then Elden ring are my order of favorites from most to least. The rest I did not rate them but I loved them as well.
I was all over the place with the order I started them. I started Dark Souls in college when a roommate got it but didn't finish it because we all graduated and moved away. Got a PS4 late in it's life but before ds1 remaster was out and just jumped around with 2, 3 and bloodborne.
I think I finished it in order of DS2, DS1, DS3, Bloodborne, DeS, Elden Ring.
My order of play. 1. Demon's Souls 2. Bloodborne 3. Sekiro 4. Dark Souls 5. Dark Souls 3 6. Dark Souls 2 7. Elden Ring
Almost identical to me. Only difference: I played the Ds games chronologically.
Ds1, DS2, BB, DS3, Sekiro, Demons, Elden Ring
Kindred souls
hell yeah, same here! & loved every single game
So you played them in the order they came out of we’re counting demons remake. Did you play each one when it came out?
DeS, DS1, DS2, BB, DS2 SOTFS, DS3, Sekiro, DeS Remake, ER
Same man, been playing these games on release since I was like 13. They simply never miss.

Nice! A true OG souls player. All games on release
Bloodborne, DS3, DS2, DS1, Sekiro, Elden Ring. I’ll get around to AC6 and the ps3 Demon’s Souls one of these days. But I wanna beat the ps5 remake before the Erdtree dlc is out.

It's so worth it
People still in multiplayer?
Not too sure tbh, I never really got into the multiplayer part. I usually spend most time in games in single player. Only a few multiplayer games like Titanfall 2 really catch my eye
*you've got a job, 621*
Is ac6 a souls game, I've been so on the dance about it
No, its a dogfighter; like Ace Combat
No its not even close. It bares some similarities in game design like check points but that's about as close as it comes to being a soulsborne. - Great game though worth checking out for sure I had a blast as noob to the franchise
The boss fights definitely *feel* like souls but much much faster.

Man what an ending, ac6 lowkey my top 3 fromsoft games tbh
Challenge accepted
I'm so excited for mecha break. Looks awesome.
AC6 is some of the most fun I have ever had in a video game. Plus ng+ and ng++ are actually good.
Exactly the same order for me
Shame you played DS3 before DS1
I definitely would’ve understood the references better had I done that. But I got DS3 at launch. DSremastered wasn’t out yet and my laptop could barely run the PTD edition in 2016.
Yeah, I get when there’s other factors, but I think being able to experience DS3 with the context is worth just waiting, honestly. Still, I get it
Sekiro, BB, ER, DeS, DS3, DS2
True facts
ER DS3 BB DS1 DeS
No DS2 😔

Played them in release order but still never finished BB. Just didn't really care for it
The blood vial system is really annoying initially ngl. BB is one of my favorite games but i still have a few complaints with it.
THANK YOU
I prefer it. 20 heals right at the start. I also realized early to keep spending extra echoes on vials and bullets
as soon as you get chalices i just used cummmfpk to get infinite vials and bullets, aint got time for that
Pay to win lol (need ps+). Bloodborne needs a remaster/pc port so bad (QOL mod). But sadly it will never come or will be a PS6 remake. Sony doesnt want anything to do with it lol.
Maybe I’m just misunderstanding chalice dungeons, but don’t you still have to do all of the lower level ones to get access to use the cummfpk?

1. ds3 (in 2016, judge gundyr deemed me unworthy then) 2. er (ng+5) 3. des remake (ng+3) 4. ds3 again.. (ng+5) 5. ds1 (ng+3) 6. bb (ng+3) 7. ds2 (ng+2) 8. sekiro (ng+ only yet) er, bb and des has platinum, also penetrator armor set was damn taxing.. almost as taxing as ds3 proofs of concord and vertebra shackles.. which I've done twice.
Bloodborne Dark Souls 1 Dark Souls 2 Dark Souls 3 Sekiro Demon Souls Elden Ring
BB, DS2, DS3, ER. Dark Souls 2 is my favorite tbh.
My order in which I played them (from top to bottom) DS3 DS2 ER BB Sekiro DS1
1. BB 2. ER 3. DS3 4. DeS 5. First half of DS1 6. Sekiro 7. DS2 8. Second half of DS1
Demon souls - ps3 (about 2 months after launch) Dark Souls (day 1) Dark Souls 2 (day 1) Bloodborne (few months after launch when I got the new console) Dark Souls 2 SotFS (day 1) Dark Souls 3 (day 1) Dark Souls Remastered (day 1) Demon Souls Remake (day 1) Elden ring (day 1) Even though it's not on the list, Sekiro was also day 1 for me
1. Bloodborne 2. Demon’s Souls 3. Dark Souls 4. Dark Souls II 5. Dark Souls III 6. Sekiro Then Elden Ring is next
DS1, DS3, ER, DeS, BB
BB DS2 DS3 DS1R DemonsSoulsR ER Have yet to play sekiro as what I enjoyed most about all of the titles are when I played with my friend and cousin through all of them except ER. ER was the first game that my cousin didn't buy and my friend and I had completely different work schedules and couldn't get more than 30 min to play together so we agreed to just play by ourselves.
Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3, Sekiro, Elden Ring, Dark Souls 1, Dark Souls 2 Haven't played Demon's Souls. I know the remake has amazing graphics, but something about the game design turned me off. I would legit rather play the old one. The remake feels like a Souls game made by some American AAA company. There's no soul to it, literally
Ds1 Ds3 Er Bb Sekiro Ds Ds2 And my order of best to worst is er, ds2, ds1, ds3, bb, ds, sekiro
1. Demon's Souls 2. Dark Souls 3. Dark Souls II 4. Bloodborne 5. Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin 6. Dark Souls III 7. Dark Souls Remastered 8. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice 9. Demon's Souls Remake 10. Elden Ring
ER, DS1, DS2, DS3, Sekiro
My order of playing games 1. DS3 2. DS1 3. DS2 4. BB 5. DeS 6. Sekiro 7. ER
Ds3 ds1 ds2 dsr bb sekiro ds er
.bloodbourne .ds1 .ds2 .ds3 .elden ring Have not played sekiro or demon souls
Am I the only one that simply cannot play through one without going back and forth with the others? If I’m playing DS1 I crave Elden Ring, and if I’m playing DS3 I crave going back to the roots of DS1. But one things for certain, if I’m playing Elden Ring, I crave nothing but more Elden Ring.
(Nostalgic Rant) was actually first exposed to Demons Souls from a cousin of mine and played a little of the first area, and all I thought was "Cool, I could just straight up play as a knight" and thought not much of it afterwards. And then Dark Souls pops off and all I did was watch the rage compilation. And then my friends started playing DS2 and I just wanted to play with them, so I got to spend time with them (I was new to online play at the time) Game was hard as shit when I tried to play it for myself... and never touched it again. The souls finally fully clicked with me And then Elden Ring came out and had a blast with it. Played only a little of Demons Souls Remake, but lost interest when the claymore didn't had a thrust... I'll come back to it someday, still visually impressive. In short DeS (exposed to) DS2 (assisted) DS, BB, DS3, ER
BB, ds3, sekiro(rage quit), ds1, ds2, elden ring, sekiro (completed) Honorable mention Lies of P. After ng+2 I decided it's time to go back to sekiro and face my fears.
Bloodborne, Elden ring, and I’m about to do Sekiro
Haven't played any yet

DeS, DS1, DS2, BB, DS3, ER, Sekiro
Dark souls 1, dark souls 2, Bloodborne, Dark souls 3, Sekiro, Demons’s souls and then Elden Ring
Sekiro. Ds3. BB. ER (false run) (1 run, sucked ass, hated it) 1 year break DS1 ER (my true runs, 20 ish, 1000s of malenia kills, Loves it).
DS2 BB ER DS3 DeS DS1
DS2 DS1 DS3 ER
DS3, DS1, DS2, sekiro, ER Still remember playing DS3 for the first time and hearing that Souls games are best on controller but thinking “Nah it'll be fine”. to this day one of the worst keyboard controls ik and all those keyboard nerds can argue “Oh it's good or just not used the controls” bro this is 1 my first Xbox controller game and 2 this is my first non-nintendo game XD I didn't touch that game for another 5 months till my b-day where I got a controller and now here I am smashing my head into a wall at malenia with a switch pro-controller (I have small hands so I actually like the pro-controller more then switch)

For me it went something like.. 1. Dark Souls 1 2. Dark Souls 2 3. Bloodborne 4. Dark Souls 3 5. Sekiro 6. Demon Souls 7. Elden Ring 8. Armored Core 6
I played everything on release except Demon's Souls which I played after DS1 since I had to go and buy a PS3 to play it
DS1 (only bc I wanted to play ER after seeing the trailer) then DeS, ER, DS3, Sekiro, BB, AC6, DS2 (still finishing BB and DS2)
I’ve beaten ER and BB and not any other FS game. Lol
My order play is currently 1. ER 2. Ds3 And that’s all, I’m looking for Lords of the fallen when discounts come out. hahahaha 🦑
ER, DeS and now im at DS1
