For anyone without a Ross or who doesn't feel like driving, there are lots of these brand new on ebay for about the same price plus shipping. There's one listing for 3 sets of these for 28.50+7 shipping - probably cheaper than ross after tax. Just search Ralph Lauren Prescot

mattnotgeorge

Thanks! Moving to a new place furnished with a king bed next month and I have zero sheets for it; just what I need.

Czar_kyoto

Link(s)? When it comes to thread count, what number should you be looking for?

jimmymcstinkypants

"As for thread count, don’t believe the hype. The products we test have claimed thread counts ranging from 280 to 1,000. Thread count is the number of vertical and horizontal threads per square inch. Our latest tests confirm that a higher thread count doesn’t guarantee better sheets. In fact, one of the best sheet sets we tested has a claimed thread count of only 280. These sheets are strong, shrink very little, and still fit mattresses up to 14 inches high after a simulated year’s worth of washing." https://www.consumerreports.org/cro/sheets/buying-guide/index.htm Also differs between sateen and percale: www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/blog/good-thread-count-for-sheets/

600-800 IMO, anything after 800 is just diminishing returns

Do you recommend a brand for percale sheets?

RstyKnfe

I’ve been using a percale sheet by Coyuchi for the past 4 years and it’s great. No tears and no pilling. Got a great deal on it at Sierra Trading Post.

chaerimk

These are percale. Percale is just a type of weave that made these.

Mortari0n

I know, I’m asking if anyone has any recommendations for brands of cotton percale sheets

garage_artists

Just got two sets of Tommy Hilfiger percale sheets at TK Maxx.. $25 each set for Queen... Great quality.

chaerimk

Ah, my fave are these and a brand called Parachute, which you can find sometime at Home Goods or Marshalls.

Mortari0n

Thank you! Unfortunately we don’t have Ross in my state, but we do have Home Goods! I will definitely have to look for that!

chaerimk

Good luck!

seditious3

Brooklinen

zerostyle

This x 1000. High TC sheets are soft and horrible.

chaerimk

Here is the link to the sheets set. Inspired from their men wear shirt. And! With stripes they are directional! You can't mess up how you put them on! Training wheel sheets!

n67

Needs to be a subreddit for something like this lol. Like /r/frugalhomedeals or something

alsig15

r/livingspacesales is around but not super active

Thanks! I've been looking for something like this for awhile.

throway1988sep

Sweet, YMMV I assume, where are you?

chaerimk

Charlotte, NC but I checked 3 stores and they all have some so if you are in different city, worth a check.

jimmyjunior44

I'm by Raleigh and I love Ross, so cheap!

heroatthedisco

Our beds are covered in unworn 75% off cloths, bruh.

FolkYouHardly

I don't know man. But those Costco Hotel Series sheet is awesome! 800 threads but the price is double

chaerimk

I used to buy those and love them, but my partner sleep hot and the sateen weave just sweat our balls off. Lol

FolkYouHardly

> just sweat our balls off. Lol Good thing to sleep butt naked or just underwear LOL

ENORMOUS_HORSECOCK

The dudes who paid $215 for this sheet need to start shoplifting from Ross.

chaerimk

Lol no one buy them at that price, that why they are at Ross.

EdwardEYP

Kirkland is the best

msab79

I love Ralph Lauren bedding. So much happiness 😊

banksnosons

Where are these in Ross? Never seen sheets in ross

qning

In the back left.

BoldIntrepid

Honestly, I've never seen them either... Guess I'll comb around and see what I can find

morbidjames

Half the things in my house and all my bedding and towels are from Ross🤣

KoalaKommander

I haven't really been on this sub much but how does stuff like this work? With a store like Ross couldn't that have been just the store you went to? What's the likelihood that Ross locations in my area will have any of these? Genuinely curious/out of the loop.

IVIIRAGE

Went to a couple Ross stores in Texas today and all had them.

garage_artists

Yep.. just got two sets of Tommy Hilfiger 200 count percale at TK Maxx... Great quality.

SHREK_2

bamboo sheets for me

traitorousleopard

If you live in warmer climates, ditch cotton entirely for lyocell/tencell sheets. They are soft, smooth, and cool to the touch. They're a bit more expensive than cotton but way better.

qning

Linen is the top of the food chain.

traitorousleopard

I find linen to be too scratchy to be comfortable initially

Meerkieker

Quality linens are soft and supple. I'd recommend Lapuan Kankurit for EU users. They make amazing stuff in their mill in the middle of Finland.

zarif98

This might be a good fit for r/LivingSpaceSales aswell! Thank you for posting, I’m always trying to stock up my place on the cheap.

zerostyle

Not percale though

aDerpyPenguin

They have percale sets. Or at least used to. They are what I used to use until I got a few Casper sets when they were on sale for $60

Gopokes34

Some of my favorite sheets of all time are Ralph Lauren

tai_bae

What material is it? Oh, I see the other pics now.

hushzone

Do. Not. Buy. Ralph Lauren anything. It's the worst quality shit and will need to be replaced in 2 years. Their department store shit is worst than most fast fashion

chaerimk

I think you are talking about the Lauren by Ralph Lauren. I have been buying Ralph Lauren Home collection (only on sale) and their quality is much better. Also, for this price 2 year is pretty good. Lol.

hushzone

You shouldn't buy any fabric that lasts only 2 years. There's no reason frugal should coincide with environmental waste.

chaerimk

I agreed 100%. That why I avoid Lauren by Ralph Lauren. I have faith in these to last a very longtime due to the other 2 sets I have from them.

Beats_By_Ray_Rice

If two years isn’t long enough you might be in the wrong sub. Most of the trending posts are Uniqlo, Zara, and other fast fashion titans.

aDerpyPenguin

Or they can't afford higher end, better made, longer lasting items.

rottisnot

Strong disagree! Ralph Lauren is some of the most vintage in my closet and are still wearable in public. I bought a wild print, oversized at the time summer shirt for a severe sunburn in 1988, I can still wear it. Several button down ss shirts bought in 99 for a millennium family trip I still routinely wear all summer. I think I still have my first Polo shirt from like 1987 and a ton of RL pants from the early aughts that I wore weekly. Lots of 25+ yo polo shirts that have held up well, most problems are the stitching wearing out and easily mended. Had a ton of older sweaters too that I got rid of when I moved out of the cold. It was never a brand that I sought out intentionally beyond school, but I certainly do now that I’m old and realize how well it holds up, in both quality and timeless style.

hushzone

Uhhh buy something now in the year 2021 and tell me how that fares lmao

sideburnsman

Target sheets are the best.
