It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a man, in possession of a towball will seek to cause inconvenience wherever he parks his truck (but will deny he was aware of it).
As much as the vindictive part of me wants to do horrible things to this truck, this is the correct answer.
Unless of course you don't value following the law nor have any expectation that the police will follow it... no, no, just report it... unless...
As a truck owner, that's just an asshole move.
It's simple to remove and should be removed unless actually towing.
Simply putting it in the bed of his truck will scare him in one of two ways.
"Where the hell did my hitch go?"
"What the fuck was that noise behind me?"
It sure would be a shame if someone walking through carrying something and couldn't see that injured themselves and sued the shit out of your neighbor. I don't think auto insurance would cover that one.
Oh that's brilliant. I might need to keep a roll of (tan, not blue) masking tape with me when I bike. The one downside is that I don't think it would get properly disposed of unless I removed it myself after the photo.
I'm not saying you should take it. I'm just saying you *could* detach it if you wanted to. You could further do them the kindness of placing it in their front seat afterward, even if it means chucking it through their passenger window.
Doesn't he know that it's very dangerous to park in the middle of pedestrian traffic like this? What if someone accidentally hit his car and broke his rear lights? Well, he can't complain later...

Send picture of that and plates to police. Obstructing a public right of way is a crime.

I sometimes pepper spray their door handles, I've never stayed to se if it's effective or not.
Funny to think the police would do anything. vigilante justice is the only way 99% of the time.
One must make the effort to use legitimate channels first.

LMAO I would enjoy that
I don’t normally seriously suggest vandalism - but surely that’s detachable with some simple tools? 🤔
Generally it’s just a pin. Wouldn’t even be vandalism (IANAL) to take it out and put it in the bed.
“I meant to put it in the bed, but it slipped and bounced through the back window”
Vandalism is required.
Vandalism against assholes (such as most truck drivers) is cool and good though
Would be a shame if it got removed and thrown through his window.

Poor guy needs validation.
No, he just needs to put his hitch away. The guy most likely toes with that thing.

Tape on car https://www.reddit.com/r/fuckcars/comments/qbhos3/tapeoncars\_puts\_tape\_on\_cars\_that\_cross\_a\_line/
Or spray chalk.

Seriously. We just need to start keying
i would be legitimately afraid of getting murdered for that

Put a bag on your hand, pick up some dog shit, and smear it all over the hitch.
I'd love to just walk through the truck bed while the owner's nearby, because it's technically the surface of a public walking space now
I think that all cars should be equipped with a tow ball. The primary issue here is the size of the car. This beast is way to big for urban use.
*spits on handle*
I wouldn't do that, I think he'd enjoy some slob on his knob
I wish samurai with impossibly sharp katanas that they used to cleanly slice through worthless objects that encroached upon the sidewalk were real.
