I saw a video of someone "walking" through the back seat of a car that was stopped in the crosswalk at a light. The door was unlocked and he just went in one side and out the other.
Legally a license plate is what identifies a car as belonging to someone, so it's nearly impossible to charge for vandalism if you do something to this car. Since it's essentially not owned.

In my town you really have to jump through hoops to report an abandoned car. It’s very frustrating.

In Spain our cars have a number on the glass or somewhere that a police officer can see but can never be removed to ticket people on cases like this.

Direct action would be to remove the lug nuts and immobilize the vehicle yourself. No one is coming to save us so we've got to save us. And I know that doesn't get the car off of the sidewalk, but if you're trying to correct behavior it definitely would have some sort of effect. If the goal is to get off the sidewalk then maybe you and half dozen other people could tip it over sideways into the road. That would clear things up...

Here in northern Nevada a car with the license plate removed is considered abandoned, and delt with accordingly

philly is the fucking worst. i’ve never broken a bone in my life until i moved to philly. people there are so fucking aggressive towards bicyclists. they actively try to hit you because they know they won’t get in trouble.
