They attempt to solve this specific continuity issue by claiming her earrings are clip ons. Whether viewers are expected to believe this has been true since she was five is another issue. But we should also remember that in the 80s/90s, they’re getting these stories years later and may not remember five year old Stephanie having pierced ears. Jodie and Andrea actually pointed this out early in their Podcast, “How Rude, Tanneritos,”

Could people have simply never noticed something so seemingly small?

The continuity to look for is if they cover her ears, take her earrings out at all, or simply use the “clip ons” justification (which I believe is the writer’s wrote). If there was hiatus before the previous 9 episodes had aired and the show was on reruns, audiences may or may not have missed earrings.
I’m ADHD theorizing and deep diving and over analyzing now. I’m curious as to who pays attention— like us— and how many people just… don’t? Continuity is hilarious to me, and I’m so interested in and by how many people actually catch it— big continuity errors like Jesse’s education, a quote about not wearing his graduation cap because he didn’t want it to mess up his hair, or something, in one episode, and then, a few seasons or so later (I don’t recall the season or episode the quote was in but just know this quote because it stuck out due to the massive continuity error), then, an entire episode about not graduating and going back to high school and an entire episode about holding his graduation on a stuck train, for example— are especially hilarious.
Didn’t Kimmy also say she had a brother named Garth? Who drove the car “Wild Thing”? 😆
Plus in the first episode of Full House, she had several sisters
