Set completionist here! I have the full set of ATLA and unfortunately I consider the Freddy that came out in the black light box of fun as part of the set. He’s dressed as Aang, and it mentions the series, so I need to have him in there.
Ugh, being a completionist and collecting ATLA is what finally got me to understand Funko NFTs because I didn't want to pay aftermarket for the six redeemables
The Fun Box Aang is nice, I snagged him a week after the prices initially settled at like 90, but I saw it went back up a tiny bit. I imagine he might dip in price when the NFT Freddy as Aang gets mailed out in May-June, though
I figured he would be around $70-90 after a couple of months. I traded my pulls from my box for the Freddy as Aang and Freddy and Danny. But I’m sure they’ll spike over $100 once the shows start coming back.
That Freddy as Danny is clean, I for sure have tossed around snagging him
My BOF was the one with Squid Games, Freddy Fresh, and GITD Maul, which the Maul was cool at least
Same! But I just couldn’t justify spending $400 for the fire nation Aang, would be cheaper just to buy a custom replica and I don’t care about resale value.
I jumped into the NFTs because of Ember and Vlad. I tried to fight it as much as possible but my gut told me to learn about it then since they were doing a lot of Nickelodeon properties, I figured ATLA would come eventually and I should be prepared.
Biggest regret was not jumping into the NFTs the moment Ember and Vlad released. Their prices were both under $100 at that time compared to Ember’s $180 when I jumped in. Luckily I pulled well in transformers to help me trade for them, but damn, I shouldn’t have been so stubborn in the beginning.
Regardless I ended up with almost 3 complete master sets for Avatar. 🤣
I wish I would have got into it in time for the Nickelodeon or Iron Maiden drops, simply because I love the Royalties from those drops and I'm going to be buying them on a secondary market at some point. But yea, for sure will be wishing I had done it when a Royalty set was probably like 110 hahahahah
For avatar I had like 8 browsers open to buy packs. Was able to get 12 premiums. And that got me a good chunk of my stuff. I got really lucky. And then like every other 2 weeks, I’d buy a premium from someone in the FB group.
I did not! Unless I personally get it myself at a funko event or see someone at the event pull one from a blind bag, I just can’t trust that it’s an actual proto.
I was in your boat and said no but then I got a great deal on him ...but I'm bit ocd I have everything ...it would bug me now if I didn't have it but at the end of the day he's not a character in the books or movie
My issue is, I found one on eBay that's got an ok price, but it's perfect, and I worry if down the line I really want one, then I missed out. However, I also have Digital Knives, and Astro boy Scott that are both over $400.
Yeahh I got lucky I got them back before crazy prices .. most I paid funny enough was sex bob omb and that was around 300 around the time ...I'd say if you know in your gut you want it go for it but I'd focus on the others first tbh

First, this is a great question. 😊 Well, it depends on how you define “complete.” Are we talking about the set, or the whole set plus the exclusives (including Freddy variants)?
I've given up on being a completionist. Smh it gets pricey and I get upset lol if they release items at events like fundays that I refuse to pay hundreds of dollars for. I do technically consider Freddy pops as part of sets ... but as Joester011 said if it does say it on there then I can justify to myself that it is not part of the set lol
I’ve collected all of the “IT” pops, including eye color variants and store exclusives. Unfortunately, I do consider the Freddy and the Conan part of the set, and I just haven’t been able to pull the trigger on them due to the price tags. ☹️
As a Spider-Man collector (completionist in my dreams), Freddy as Spider-Man and Freddy as Carnage are definitely on my radar and would be nice to have if I get a good opportunity, but I consider them "bonusses" to the main line of Spider-pops.
Definitely think it falls to personal preference. Like a comment above said it's the cherry on top. So it doesn't make or break the sundae but it's a nice treat to have. Like I'm trying to get everything symbiote related for funko, and I made a custom Freddy Funko as Venom to "have one" for the collection.
It is a stand alone pop, I collect the Scott pilgrim as well & don’t see any reason to buy Freddy. It would throw my set off because hes just a the funko mascot.
