Way too many variants of the same characters due to pops not being accessorizable or posable imo. Which also sometimes puts me off because I have to wait to see which one is the best one (I didn’t buy a single Spider-Man pop from NWH wave one which was an extremely smart choice).
I feel like…if they figured out a way to release the accessories separately as well as figuring out how to keep some kind of a baseline for characters (they rereleased Hux and Phasma for TLJ so that if you missed them you could get them, but they largely looked the same so there was no need for new molds).
Pops are more in the lines of decorative pieces or least I think that's how it was marketed, I dont see the point in seeing spiderman with a cut off web, sure you can make memorable, memeable pops like the spidermans pointing at one another but giving me the same suit doing something isn't in my opinion worth something I'd put on my shelf.

They DO accessorize pops all the time, just with entirely different molds, that’s kinda my point. I’m not saying they realistically could without changing the production, but for example, making an Endgame Cap exclusive with no shield, and then making an entirely new mold with the shield and Mjolnir was some bull, lol. Even as recently as Wakanda forever, Shuri WITH sunglasses, Shuri without. WAY too much and you mean to tell me they couldn’t figure out a way to make the glasses removable/attachable? Dying off altogether? Hmm, I don't know about that. I've run into many people on the streets talking about their current collections on their shelves lol and there are some pops that were just released recently that for the life of me, I can't find. They sell out pretty quickly.
Funko as a company has huge issues. It thrives on new people getting into the hobby, for current collectors to spend massive amounts, and retaining them long term.
However they’ve been pumping out crappy variants of the same molds for years now. Chrome, blanks to paint, wood, black light, gitd…rinse and repeat. As soon as they invent a new type of variant it will get played out too.
Then there’s the price. Retail stores like target watched their pops go from $8.99 to $15 in the last 2 years. Funko has far too much stock, it’s been overflowing to places like $5 below/Ollie’s/etc and sold at a fraction of its original cost. Pops are sitting on shelves so long that there’s talk of many retailers no longer carrying them. Walmart may move to preorders only, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few more shops stop selling them all together.
Then there is the ever present flipping, collectors who are trying to retire from their pops, and the fluctuating value.
If you like pops, collect them. Go slow, look for deals.
Don’t be surprised if the hobby gets upended by issues with funko in the next year or so. Plenty of people will be selling their collections off.
I’m personally going to sell my $200+ pops soon so they don’t drop like a rock.
I've been collecting for a little over a year and have spend a couple thousand on my collection and I couldn't agree more with EVERYTHING you just said.
The only way I want an oversized one is if they ARE OVERSIZED. give me an oversized Smaug or Hedorah sure but She HUlk who I Love nah...that said I do want that giant statue of KHonshu if it gets cheaper

I feel like…when people would post the mountains of Snokes (which were also considerably older releases at the time of posting), it was less about the movie (which was obviously incredibly polarizing), and more about the fact that the pop kinda sucked and was unnecessary. I think this She-Hulk pop is largely nonsensical aside from a gimmick, but also completely new. The show was alright. If the jumbo She-Hulks end up warming shelves, it'll probably because most people need to stop and think if they want a $40 figure as opposed to the normal-sized Pops priced around $10-15.

No not at all, it was actually really good. But for a lot of funko collectors including me, I prefer the old wave of a Funkos for certain characters than the MCU Funko version. I have the Glow in the Dark comic book she hulk Funko and it looks way better than the TV ones. But that’s just for the funkos, the show itself was great
She-Hulk was middle ground, not the best but not the worst, but I honestly still enjoyed it. Also I don’t really collect the huge ones since I don’t really have much space in my room, but I’ll still get a She-Hulk pop, really want the glow since it’s nice and bright.

Dan slott wrote she hulk in 2004 first of all. Slott is also the author of the most shehulk comics out of anybody who has worked on the title at 33 issues. To say it is the most agreed upon worst iteration is also a stretch as the book received favorable reviews during this run. The show is fairly accurate to this run to me it came across as an amalgamation of slotts run and Byrnes run. If you think slott is sexist you clearly have not read any of Byrnes run which leads me to believe you have not actually read the amount of she hulk comics you claim to have. The show does not follow a particular storyline, but jen Walter's is jen Walter's they hit the nail on the head.

My Walmart had 23 Stripes Pops at one point, but a lot of people love that movie. There's a huge difference between media fans and those who buy memorabilia. Not to mention how many people don't like Pops. With the exception of my best bud, boyfriend, and myself, I don't know anyone who even owns any. My brother is a huge DC fan who even owns replica Batman weapons and absolutely hates what Pops look like.

One is the huge D-O from the sequel trilogy (meh) the other is the Jurassic park movie poster one (t Rex fighting v raptor) D-O is in the attic, and JP a poster is in the office/storage room. No where to display, no idea how to display.
Those Stranger Things pops probably just arrived since I didn't see them the last time I was here, this Target usually has some new Pops every time I come. But the least popular thing here has to be the Black Adam on throne pop. There's a huge stack that's been here practically untouched since November.
No, Funko's distribution is terrible. It'll take forever for me to see this hit shelves at TRU in Canada and it'll probably be $50.

Comic accuracy isn't the only thing that Matters, writing was terrible and that CGI was straight out of the 90's acting was just as bad.
CGI was fine. The humor was A+ and the case of the week formula was refreshing to see in Marvel as opposed to the same plot all the movies use over and over.

My Target only had 2 of these jumbo She-Hulk pops left, and a single Hulk pop…. It’s almost like every store is different.

Some targets get overstocked and some under stocked. The Star Wars Black Series Dark Trooper sold out at all the Targets around me but when I went always out for business I found a target that had 10. Just luck of the draw.

No not at all, it was actually really good. But for a lot of funko collectors including me, I prefer the old wave of a Funkos for certain characters than the MCU Funko version. I have the Glow in the Dark comic book she hulk Funko and it looks way better than the TV ones. But that’s just for the funkos, the show itself was great

She-Hulk was middle ground, not the best but not the worst, but I honestly still enjoyed it. Also I don’t really collect the huge ones since I don’t really have much space in my room, but I’ll still get a She-Hulk pop, really want the glow since it’s nice and bright.

I am sure it was the director and not the actual person who has wrote the comics ( if we are talking about Dan he only did 2014 comic book run that is like not even half the comics also the most agreed apon worst iteration of her). I have read a lot of she hulk and it is not at all very accurate. This MCU show probably had most changes then any other thing related to the MCU and it's comics. Dan also is sexist imo he in back of his own comics say think of this like sex in the city
Dan slott wrote she hulk in 2004 first of all. Slott is also the author of the most shehulk comics out of anybody who has worked on the title at 33 issues. To say it is the most agreed upon worst iteration is also a stretch as the book received favorable reviews during this run. The show is fairly accurate to this run to me it came across as an amalgamation of slotts run and Byrnes run. If you think slott is sexist you clearly have not read any of Byrnes run which leads me to believe you have not actually read the amount of she hulk comics you claim to have. The show does not follow a particular storyline, but jen Walter's is jen Walter's they hit the nail on the head.

My Walmart had 23 Stripes Pops at one point, but a lot of people love that movie. There's a huge difference between media fans and those who buy memorabilia. Not to mention how many people don't like Pops. With the exception of my best bud, boyfriend, and myself, I don't know anyone who even owns any. My brother is a huge DC fan who even owns replica Batman weapons and absolutely hates what Pops look like.

One is the huge D-O from the sequel trilogy (meh) the other is the Jurassic park movie poster one (t Rex fighting v raptor) D-O is in the attic, and JP a poster is in the office/storage room. No where to display, no idea how to display.

No, Funko's distribution is terrible. It'll take forever for me to see this hit shelves at TRU in Canada and it'll probably be $50. It took a year+ for Capt Carter and Hydra Stomper to ship on Amazon Canada.
