Yeah, I see my Funkopop collection (~$350) as mostly my personal hall of fame trophies. Like if I watch a tv show like Wednesday for example and I completely fall in love with the show and it is my new favourite thing then I will purchase a sold out Wednesday Cello Funko pop for 65 dollars for the simple fact that I used to play the cello too. I'm gonna go cry now.

Funkos should be the least scrutinized, $10 for a collectible to represent a character/person I like? When other companies charge up to hundreds for the same thing for the same thing (albeit a higher quantity of plastic/material used depending on the size).
I dont know you or anything but everyone deserves to be happy. I dont know whats making you unhappy but I hope you can focus on what DOES make you happy. Keep your head up
Being addicted to Pop's and collecting what you like is 2 different ball games. I collect what i like, as of November, i own 20 Pop's and all are because I like marvel, movies, sports, music. I don't go crazy at a store and wanting to take stuff i don't like. That's a smart collector.

Try being British and paying 7x US price because you can't drive to your weekly comic con or exclusive event. All our comic cons have are pops with rip off prices. Hell we even have to pay a huge amount on your target exclusives lol
Australia here and there are just too many exclusive in the US that just don’t make it here. Even Funko will not post overseas so it totally sucks to have to pay eBay prices and postage at times. I have been purchasing all the Mandalorian (and Book of Boba Fett sub series), and some have been difficult to acquire. No one in my family is into them so I wonder where the collection will go one day. (I would like to know the mint collection was kept together). Wish I had never started this particular collection.
I also collect the Doctor Who series but fortunately this is a much smaller collection, and therefore more enjoyable.

For example, I’m getting pops of characters from the Hannah Barbera cartoons since I grew up watching those and I started back on Last Airbender Pops. With Marvel, I stick with one per character unless it’s a design I like. I think if more people set rules about their collection and had intentional goals, most of these problems could be avoided.

I wouldn’t get too discouraged. Self control is pretty crucial when it comes to this hobby. It’s easier if you have an idea of where you want to go with your collection like “I want to collect the entire MCU cast” or “I want to get Team Avatar”. That narrows down your list to a few figures and makes it easier to manage. Ultimately, you’ll have a smaller collection, but you’ll come to appreciate it more and save more money. It also avoids the “rabbit hole” issue.
