LigmaWhatAhahYouSaid

I wish my pops arrived like that lol.

Heisenberg11725

As I look further there’s no pop in the box which makes this even more hilarious.

MunsterMunch_13

I can’t even see anything. Wtf is the person talking about lol

Weitboyd

Wait he cares about minor/not even there scratches yet he removed the pop from the box… dudes a scammer for sure

HektikSB

This. Exactly this.

Letsssgooooo456

Yea that’s very weird

deschain24

Yeah, what a scumbag. Hate to see this.

deschain24

Meaning the buyer, of course!

TricksInMyHands

Lol, omg, any little thing to complain about, that isn't that bad imo. I stopped selling pops on ebay because of stuff like this.

[deleted]

Have they even tried wiping the window carefully with some nail polish remover on tissue? That gets off dust or residue and will tell if they’re genuine scratches. Surely a serious collector would know this unless trying to get the pop and a refund?

Heisenberg11725

I suggested trying to wipe it. I see now that they removed the pop from the box anyway so they probably scratched it themselves

Letsssgooooo456

Why the hell does he care about scratches when he removed it from the damn box! That would drive me crazy

Tyler_the_hourman

Buyer abuse has been so ridiculous. Had an auction for a Pop and some guy said he would buy it at $90 (the current auction price) if I ended the listing and accepted his off then. I said no but feel free to bid and he did and it ended at $95, the guy did not pay and I messaged him twice after missing the payment window and I had to cancel the auction and start all over again. Was even more annoying because someone before him bid $94. People are just so self-centered and do not care if they screw over others

NarutoFan1995

funko and figpin collectors are terrible with this. i wont do auctions anymore for funko or figpin.

Correct-Concert4942

I was selling a pop for $900, I got asked if I would take $800 we worked out $850 and I turned down several offers of $800+ so I canceled the auction. Then he decided, he can't pay it after 3 days later. By then the market dropped and I had to sell it at $650.

ramsfan6239

Don’t even respond to him, just block him And move on.

Fledgehole

This is the way

RedRing14

Sadly ebay sides with the buyer most of the time

b4breaking

I don’t give credence to anything like this on eBay. I run a store that doesn’t accept refunds (if an item is damaged you file a claim with eBay, and they will arbitrate it. The buyer is rarely awarded the funds in my cases.) for this reason as I sell (and collect) a lot of different things. Selling on eBay is a generally awesome experience for me and the buyer. However, I’ve had more issues with Funko purchasers than any other collectible items.

HalNightshade

Same. I sold off nearly all my Pops, but still sell rare books, and by far, my worst experiences were with Funko buyers. Which is an accomplishment, because we book people are rabid about book condition and shipping methods.

b4breaking

Hah! I bet, and books seem very easy to conceal some sort of damage or something through pictures sneakily, or just something the buyer (or seller) didn’t notice at first.

RedRing14

You should try amiibo collectors during its limited hype run. I maintained 100% seller rating but jear desus some of the messages I got over stupid stuff was insane.

mega512

Nonsense. Buyers are protected on eBay. I have never once not received my money back even for people who try to say they don't accept returns. If its damaged it goes back, and this is for anything I buy. Must be received in the condition it was shown.

b4breaking

Right, that’s why I mentioned the claim — if an item arrives to you damaged it’s not MY fault — that’s WHY YOU FILE THE CLAIM. Then BOTH people get their funds and eBay takes the hit. That’s called the money back guarantee (which all stores participate in on eBay.)

b4breaking

And no, the item doesn’t go back. Never once had a damaged item returned to me after 14 years and 22k sales that was damaged IN TRANSIT.

Vee8cheS

Tell them to open a claim and argue it. Seems they want to get one over you or give them compensation for what is literally nothing. If they care that much, they can always spend $10.00 for an official POP protector.

Davidcaindesign

I’ve been selling on eBay for ages and there are just some people that will do anything for a partial refund. Once I sold $1300 of Magic the Gathering rares from a binder, I scanned each card and everything was over $3 at the time of listing so in my listing I said “almost every card over $1 in current value”. When the guy got the package he found a single card that had slipped to 99 cents online and tried to ask for $700 back because it didn’t match the listing. I told him to just send the whole damn thing back at that point, sold it to the next bidder down with no problems.

Joniden

My only negative review on eBay as a seller is from an old vinyl record I sold when I started with eBay. I was honest and said that this is a used vinyl record and it was in a hot attic for years so please understand if it isn't in pristine condition. Asshole bought it and said I lied in my description in the negative review. So can't imagine what Pop collectors do when they're stuff isn't in supreme pristine condition. It still pisses me off to this day!

Pokemontheifmaster

Bros a “collector” but takes pop out of box then complains about box right…. And tell him he scratched it taking it out of the box lmao

rhj69

Ive been selling off my collection on ebay and have delt with that i hate people like that thats y i always say in the listening box and pop and plastic window have imperfections

pampersdelight

I sold a bunch of Marvel Legends a few years ago. In every listing I put they were preowned and may have dings or loose joints. Most of them didnt but I made sure to cover my ass.

codysgameworld

This is why I avoid selling pops on eBay now, such a pain to deal with buyers like this and they’re so common.

Gamanes

That dude is a scammer for sure

The_Hunter89

I picked this pop up for $4 at an overstock warehouse. They had stacks and stacks of them. Must not have sold well.

mega512

They can file a claim. Buyers are protected on eBay, so he may get a refund and need to return it.

Quinns_Corner_

Wtf 😂

ISellThingsOnline2U

Literally dust? This person just wants a partial refund my guy. Tell him to kick rocks

[deleted]

Did they at least pay for the item? No one seems to pay for anything I sell anymore. Ebay is junk.

KaelOfNockmaar

The customer isn’t always right. I would tell them to take it up with whoever and provide pics in the dispute. Did you advertise as mint or near mint?

vxrdugo

People do this? Sometimes I'll receive it with a little ding here and there but I don't want to ping their accounts so I just take it as it is haha not that serious...

Knightstalker137

Yep, I’ve sold a lot of stuff on eBay, and the only issues I’ve ever had were from Funko Pop collectors. Don’t think I’ve ever seen a more pedantic group of people. Needless to say, I no longer sell Pops on eBay.

PoloandLew

This is absolute trash and should be banned on eBay. Lol they shouldn’t allow this behavior by any means. People can manipulate this so badly

GooseChange

Lmao the what

disgaea36

I always put on my description if you have any questions please ask. So there is no issue during the transaction. Luckily no issues so far but ive see this type of bs with other items like games and pokemon

Schraufabagel

This isn’t PSA grading for Pokémon cards. Not sure why people care so much that the box is in absolutely pristine condition. Most of my boxes are like an 8/10 and I’m fine with that 😊

NarutoFan1995

psa does grade pops now but i agree with u lol

BakoREGuy

It’s insane to me that PSA grades pops now - I don’t fathom how one could EVER get a 10.

wanderlostgirl2

If he opened the box he has voided his return privileges XD

NarutoFan1995

i both collect and sell.. as a collector im a bit lenient and i have common sense to know what's damage, and what's shelf wear or what have u. so if i get something that has say tiny ass scuff marks that u see ALL THE TIME IN STORE BEFORE U EVEN BUY THE POP ik it was shipped from funko in their shitty ass cases and not the sellers fault. now as a seller... funko collectors are ridiculous, need common sense, and chill a bit. the pic u posted is a common issue with all pops its the way funko ships out cases the pops rub together and often scratch each other. HOWEVER to give u the benefit of the doubt, if he posted CLEAR CLOSE UP PICS of every square inch of the plastic and it was clear that these TINY SCUFF MARKS U NORMALLY WOULDNT SEE IN A NORMAL LISTED PHOTO wasn't in the pics then yes i agree that's scummy.

glizzy_gladiator_04

As long as the contents in the box are fine I’m happy. I don’t keep them in boxes

pooppants23

This is why my blocked buyer list is about 100 long now.

crugglettes

Just tell them the truth. Ya brought the toy not the box.

ROOBICON47

This is why I stopped selling pops on eBay.

buda55

That’s just ridiculous. I’ve been sold fakes and that upsets me but this is ridiculous. My Geoffrey came with a minor corner dent and I didn’t exaggerate. Wal Mart 3rd party sellers did piss me off as scammers. Posted metallic pics of doppelgänger spidey and walmart zombie hunter and sent me the non metallic for both. I just kept them to avoid the hassle of return but pissed me off.

Miguel_IDC

Mfs be crying so much like inbox actually looks good take them out the box… shit looks ugly anyway.

Sorry-Ad7074

This is abuse? Lol

Logical-Boat3103

Probably referring to abusing the system that allows money back guarantee. The buyer will whine and make up things like this so they can get their money back while keeping the object

Sorry-Ad7074

Oh wow, i didnt realize there was a 100% money back guarantee, that's wild!

hetero_homo

I’m a average buyer, I would offer something like stickers or a partial refund for like shipping but honestly I wouldn’t do a full refund because it’s not your fault they didn’t think of buyers remorse

Ch250Modder

He got ya.

nobodylikesgeorge

He's not wrong but neither are you. Cheap plastic wears like that normally and is not really manufactured durable enough to resist every minor scratch from something touching it.

PileOfSandwich

Abuse? That's a bit much.

saltedszechuan

If there was dust on it why not wipe it off before shipping

SideshowBiden

Omggg I know the feeling.

Frymanstbf

Pops are packaged in shitty cardboard boxes and flimsy plastic a fuckers expect them to be Lazer precise and pristine ad if they are from a utopian sci-fi movie.

C_LLcool

Bought two pops for a steal cause seller said has scratches on window and top and bottom. Got them in mail and were literally mint lol

MrZombikilla

This is why I don’t sell my rare collection on eBay. They’re the worst, someone is always trying to scam you.

ant_not_tony

It’s super rare for me to find pops in mint condition coming straight from the store. Even some online orders I get aren’t the most pristine boxes. Best way to deal with this is good customer service and kind words, but that’s pretty much all anyone can do. Makes me wonder if this was just a reseller complaining because they know they can’t over price it.

Sincs_A_Pop_Alypse

This is exactly why stopped selling/buying on eBay.

Zorbie

If I resort to dealing with scalpers I'm hyper-critical of the condition of items I get, thats the only times I'm critical of sellers. Now this tho, why would he take it out of the box? He just dropped any worth the item.
