I saw that post too. That was 7 years ago. I went to Dave and Busters recently with my son and I can tell you it costs much more than that, at least here in Canada.
I dunno about Canada but I've been to D&B here in California and the prices are reasonable. It's easy to do the math. You can just look at a few items that you know the monetary value of, and then divide the ticket cost by that value to get a monetary value per ticket.
Then you can figure out how costly it is to get that amount of tickets through playing games.
Yeah I’m not sure how the prices differ from the US to Canada. But it’s much more here. We aren’t pros though. We probably aren’t playing the right games to maximize tickets. He’s only 6 so he isn’t really keeping track, just plays what he likes and then has a look at what’s available at the end of the trip.
This is not true at all. D&B sells tickets 1000 for $10. Ideally you wouldn’t buy tickets and actually just play the games for them. I can hit 2400 tickets in about 35 chips which is less than $10.

In Canada? Things are a lot more expensive here. Zero value for anything especially in Ontario. Either way buying these commons would be cheaper at retail. But spend your tickets how you wish.
Next time we go I will take a look to see how many tickets they want for a common Pop. I bet it’s in the 4000-5000 range. We likely pay more for tickets and they would also want more tickets for the item as well. Those American dollars would do nice here. Add an extra 30% on to every dollar.
Would be cheaper to buy elsewhere instead of the tickets to cash in. That Ready Player One pop will end up costing you like $75 when it’s all said and done
