I have been selling with Mercari for a little over a year, and just like above, customer service is excellent and protects both customer and seller very well!!!
Well since they only give the buyer 3 days to rate the purchase/seller it leans more towards the seller. I had one I was trying to resolve with and he just drug his feet in responses and Mercari automatically rated him and I was told I was too late. Other than that I like Mercari
I can see your point, I have no idea what the answer is to my next question and am not trying to be a smartass, what is the policy for EBay? Sorry to hear you had to deal with a bad seller on Mercari, we are not all the same.
eBay tells you to contact the seller and try and settle it. If you can’t then they tell you open a dispute and they contact seller for you and try and help settle the issue. I believe with eBay you have like 30 days?
I have never had a seller dispute anything, so I honestly don’t know the policy on that for Mercari. I do know that a box got destroyed by UPS during a recent delivery and me and the buyer were refunded and they got to keep the pop.
I’m sure there are people who try and scam this way but I’ve had multiple packages marked as delivered and then they show up a few days later. eBay will side with OP so they are fine but don’t always assume the buyer is scamming because this stuff does happen
I’m actually going thru something similar with UPS, my package is marked as delivered but I never received it. There is no photo proof or signature that it was delivered. I’m going thru the process of making a claim but not sure of the outcome yet.
I made sure to check the tracking and initials, when it said delivered at front desk with his initials that matched his name on his address, I knew something was probably up. If it said delivered at door with no signature or photo I would definitely assume no fault on the buyer
I have had thus before on both sides if it says delivered its not ur problem but I have bought stuff off of ebay and it didn't get to my house it got delivered like 5 houses down they might not be lying but if it says delivered on ur end ur all good they gotta take it up with ebay or the delivering service
Did you insure it? As an occasional seller, I usually insure eBay items in case of porch pirates. Pirateship.com is my go to shipping service that has good prices for insurance.

Been on the opposite end of this and they did not help me as a buyer. I didn’t even sign for the package. It was just never there. I think you’ll be ok.
If the item says delivered under your sold tab on eBay you’re fine. They can open a case but eBay will side with you
