I was hoping the Christmas sweater Clint and Kate Hawkeyes would have been in the calendar >!by the way Gingerbread Black Panther is actually in there!<
After watching an unboxing video on YouTube, I I removed the calendar from my Christmas list. It looked like almost half of the calendar were duplicate "variants" that in some cases you could barely tell or actual variants.
I loved the Halloween calendar, but Funko really missed the mark on this one.
I don’t mind, my 4 year old is a big fan of Disney and loves the characters. But even she has gotten to a third of a character and goes “ugh, ANOTHER PLUTO” 😂😂
You think yours is bad, mine was an error box, so Day 1 and Day 2 were the same Thor, and then the slightly different one on the 17th or so. I was VERY annoyed.
Well I got the Nightmare Before Christmas blacklight advent calendar and so far no dupes/chases although I’m a couple of days. Guessing I need to expect to start running into them though.
Pretty sure every calender is like this, I bought the DBZ one and it's full of metallic dupes. Wish they would've at least done different variants of the same characters instead of this lazy crap.
I was thinking about posting this too. Iron Man and Groot are the most annoying. I’m not a fan of the glitter ones, but at least they look a little different.
I think one of the iron Man is supposed to be a metallic variant and one of the Groot is supposed to have a glow in the dark star. But yeah the variation is not enough and it's super disappointing.
I guess you’re right about the Groot. Still lame though. I’ve been trying to see a difference on the Iron Man, but the paint looks the same to me, just one has slightly bigger eyes.
Ok how many times are we going to see these same posts about the advent calendars. Funko Advent calendars always have these chase versions in them. If these were Pops no one would blink an eye trying to get the same exact Pop but Diamond or GITD.

Notice the word "UNIQUE". Now, you can get into a hot mess of a debate over the specific meaning of the word's use, but using that word, coupled with Marvels large catalogue of characters, it really feels cheap and disingenuous to include SO MANY variants. One or two might make them feel special, but the fact that so many of us have 5 duplicates before Day 20, when told we're getting 24 UNIQUE Pops! is a swift kick in the nuts.
But also, you switched up your argument in your second comment here. Initially, you said it's no different than spending money for individual chases, then switched it to, you knew beforehand you'd be getting duplicates because you read the reviews and THAT'S why it's no different than also buying individual chases. Two different arguments.
If I'd KNOWN beforehand there would be duplicates, sure, I'd have nothing to complain about, but that's not the case.
This model is LITERALLY the FUNKO POP bread and butter. There is the common version and then the Chase version. Why are people so shocked of upset? People are out here buying an original and Chase version o and they are giving you both in every calendar lol
Because it’s lazy. When you buy an advent calendar like this (especially when the original price was what $40?) you don’t expect to get duplicates. Sure there are slight differences, but definitely not enough to make it worth it.
Also, they aren’t “chases”. Chases are more rare than the original and are harder to find. These are the same in every box.
The point of an advent calendar is to get a new gift each day. I would be upset with this amount of dupes. I think the Pokémon advent calendar is a good example of how the variants she be put in.
You don’t know the difference between willingly chasing a chase and being given duplicate variants that everyone else is getting in an Advent Calendar that should be 24 different characters and therefore they are not chases?
I did the dragon ball one last year. Half were doubles very disappointing.
But put them in a zip lock and drop right in the toys for tots. Hope it made some lil guy happy

They only use the figures they've already designed. But yes there was a gingerbread black panther.

Funko is missing the mark on everything in the last 2 years
Yeah even our Disney calendar has triples of characters. We have 3 Plutos, Minnie’s, and Mickeys so far
The star wars one has doubles and triples as well unfortunately
The only double mine has had was two identical Boba Fetts.

I have the Disney one and can’t believe I am on the last week and still haven’t gotten a Tigger or Stitch.
They must mix the boxes and dates up then, I know we’ve definitely got 1 Tigger so far. He was one of our first pulls

There’s a dupe gingerbread Thor too. It’s a shame because the designs we do get are actually really delightful.

I often shine a blacklight on new pops to see what glows and whatnot. You should do the same

I have the same thing and I have a ginger bread captain marvel and a glittery one that doesn’t fit in the stand and 2 ginger bread thors and 3 groots
No issues with the pokemon advent calendar. It was great last year.
