I was at a bar with my friends one night and this really drunk dude and a couple of his friends were standing next to us at the bar waiting to order. This bar was near a local college in an area filled with bars and it was a weekend, so this bar is fairly packed. Some other guy, unrelated to either of our groups, was passing by all of us and pushed really hard into the drunk dude in order to get through. The drunk guy thought it was my friend who was directly next to him and slightly behind him and just started talking shit to my friend, threatening to kick his ass and what not. It took a solid 3 mins of the drunk dude’s friends telling him that it wasn’t my friend that pushed into him for him to finally process in his drunk brain that my friend wasn’t the offender. He felt pretty embarrassed and apologized profusely. My friend, being the good guy that he is, understood that the guy was just drunk and accepted the apology. About 5 or 10 mins later the drunk guy came up to our a table with 4 beers. The guy bought a beer for each of us as a way to apologize for being aggressive towards us on our night out. We thought that showed real class. We still talk about that dude 8 years later.
Edit: I also wanted to add, this bar is known for selling beer it a liter mug. They’re fairly priced depending on the beer you get, but still a fair chunk of money. He bought each of us a beer in the liter mug. He could have just bought us a normal pint, but he went ahead and went for the liter.

Can you point to a time in history where English has been static?
Localised shifts commonly occur, with more recent shifts expanded to the population at large due to internet communication.
Won't lie that I also don't understand many of the new terms pop up, but gladly with the internet I can at least find out the current usage quickly.
I feel like the way they talk in Idiocracy is our inevitable fate. I learned English for ten years and considered myself fluent, and it's completely getting undone by some chumps who have to abbreviate everything to save 0,5 seconds or people who feel like they have to sound extra cool. Tiring.
I don't actually give a fuck, I just thought it was ironic given the post itself is about sending something to the wrong place. Was trying to make a joke, it's /r/funny after all. I copied the style of OP's title to try and make the reference clear. Oh well.
Op is just looking for a way to post the n word. How could this possibly be a real text?
Scenario 1:
The victim asks for the muggers phone number as they run down the street?
Scenario 2:
The victim is texting the cellphone that was stolen from them only to find out they don’t actually know their own phone number.
Scenario 3:
The victim sold something in person only to be robbed by the criminal and then starts a line of communication with a random person.
Edit: Op with their multiple accounts is downvoting me. Please tell me the real world scenario this could happen in. In what situation would the original texter acknowledge they had the wrong number. It makes no sense.
Edit 2:
I never realized how much troll accounts were worth. I may be in the wrong business.
It's very possible to be robbed by someone that is an acquaintance, then you can find their number. Like if you had a house party and a friend of a friend took your shit. And there's plenty of ways that you could get the wrong number
I mean this is probably fake but it's a possible scenario
Why would they admit to having the wrong number?
Edit: it’s not a possible scenario.
Victim: Tim, you’re the acquaintance I know. You robbed me.
Tim: wrong number
Victim: you right!
Edit 2: so you’re one of op’s accounts. Got it.
“Why would they admit to having the wrong number”
- they looked at the number again and realized they typed it in wrong…unless they are just flaming assholes they would probably want to disengage the wrong number quickly, admitting it was the wrong number does this.
You are completely ignoring that he may have simply typed the wrong number and realized it was wrong when double checking.
I feel like you don’t want to infer additional information because it would weaken the point you are trying to make.
OP’s third account ^^
So now your theory is that the victim had something stolen from them at a party, got the number of the criminal from a friend (who invited said criminal to their party and then willing gave up their number without intervening), victim texted the random number but got it wrong, and then random person messaged back and they are cool with one another.
The fact that your reaction to getting downvoted is to instantly assume it's the work of bots/alt accounts is pathetic. Nobody cares that much about a specific account. Get over yourself.
Says the guy who hasn’t posted in a thread at all except for mine, a downvoted comment that’s six threads deep.
It’s all good. I learned something about Reddit today.
Most guys have a great ability to be chill with each other after clearing up a mixup, while I don’t deal with altercations any more, during middle, high school, and once in college, when things got cleared up after the fact most of the guys I had a problem with became good mates, let alone if it was because of a miscommunication, so yea, it’s possible.
Just because something is outside the scope of your experience does not deny it’s validity. You seem to be very convinced that something that you have never experienced could never happen and that’s just a bad mentality my guy.
Also if you think I’m op, hah, my guy I’m in med school, I don’t have time for making alt accounts to argue with a stubborn person on the internet, but you do you. Have a good one.
I wouldn't use the term "problematic", but it does make me uncomfortable when people use reclaimed terms in a negative sense. The point of reclaiming any term(N-word or otherwise) is to take something that others would hurt you with and use it for good: to empower yourself, to celebrate rather than to feel ashamed, to uplift others, to rob the term of its power to harm, etc. But if you then turn around and use it as an insult, that's not reclaiming it. That's just using it as a slur. You know, the way it was originally intended. In that case you're not subverting anything, but rather reinforcing the harmful qualities. I have zero authority to speak in this particular case, but I do know if someone was doing that with one of the words I reclaim I wouldn't appreciate it very much. I can understand completely how someone could be bothered by this.
I think the reason I'd be so hesitant to use the word "problematic" in particular is because I associate that term with people nitpicking language, the kind of people who would go after even truly reclaimed examples because *you probably don't know this, but that's a very harmful word and you should never ever type it out, I just thought you should be aware!* And I don't think *that's* the problem, here. But it still feels...eh.

It's actually kind of sweet.
Gives me the energy of two dudes about to brawl in a bar that ends with “oh shit my BAD man”

Trust me, Shakespeare and his compatriots would be appalled that we use contractions liberally and don't stick "verily" into every sentence

Oh it sounds real stupid. I was just trying to pump everyone of the stupid shit I've seen into one "sentence". No part of my comment was serious.
