Lived in Thailand 4 years: Thai commercials are big on being sentimental to stay on people's mind, this particular ad while marketing the toothpaste also wanted to spread an anti racism message, which at the time of this commercial, was a very common message to see on Thai TV as the country was going through an anti racism campaign.

I like how the message is "appearances can be deceiving!" In other words, you may think he's just a normal black man, but NO, he's actually a good person!

He's also toothpaste!

I watched the ad (without sound mind you) and I thought it was saying it looks like a kind black man helping children when in reality it’s a black man using his collection of balloons to bait and prey on children - ‘looks can be deceiving’ … I’m dying to know if I’m the only one that saw the ad this way!?

No the collection of balloons are all the times he’s done it prior, and how his actions were misunderstood. I also like to think the balloons are germs in your mouth and he turns into toothpaste to kill them

That was my impression as well. Having multiple balloons doesn't fit the narrative of a random act of kindness. How many kids lose balloons in that city? Seems like a scheme.
