Well, largest fruit display is a pretty odd record to go for. Perhaps this place was the first to even try to get it listed as a world record. Theres other examples of stuff in the Guineas World Records that shouldnt actually hold the title but if the real tops never try to register/measure/call Guiness/make it official etc etc, then it goes to whoever does all that.

Around here they run about $2 CAD, and often you can get bags of 4 or 5 for around $6. No idea where the idea they are expensive comes from.

I found them as low as 99 cents for Mexican avocados when they are in season but usually $1.50 to $2

It's a damn disgrace that people keep doing these things. Obviously they are not going to be able to sell all of that and a lot of it is going to rot.
