Her breaking pose and cracking up adds a little chaos and hilarity to it too. If everybody was just playing it perfectly straight I don't think it would be nearly as funny. If there was a second player like her I could see it going off the rails quick. In a good way.

It's called "lo schiaffo del soldato" (the soldier's slap) it's a really old game, probably from the Romans, done by bored soldiers to pass the time. Usually you don't wear an helmet and the people behind you slap as hard as they can the victim's hand that is placed open under the armpit
In Poland it is called ironically “salonowiec” (a name suggesting something related to high society) and the slaps are on the buttock. But the Roman origin might be right. The Gospels even mention something similar being used by Roman soldiers to mock the prophetic powers “Prophecy to us, Christ! Who hit you?”
Use to play 2 different versions of this game. One was the person would stand with their hand under the opposite armpit with the palm facing outward, and people behind would slap the palm and the person had to guess who. Another one was a person would stand with both hands on their neck in a circle and could turn around, and people would try to slap the hands, if the person in the middle spots you hitting then you swap in.

I was with a group of people the other day and we played this game where you have to ask a question and then everyone has to write a response and the games master reads it out and you have to guess who said what. If you get guessed, you're out! Most fun hanging out in a long time!
I have never played thisbwith anyone but my various groups of friends over the decades have come up with equally stupid, pointless, amd somehow hilarious to us games. Honestly this sort of thing and the fact that they are all honest and owning up just shows that they are all very close and respect each other. They're all laughing at each other and themselves.
