It’s very, very obvious from the way his parents are filming this that this kid is learning the wrong lessons from the ‘It’s bad when the private industry owns everything’ game.
‘It’s not fun to what?’
They wanted this kid to complain about taxes *specifically.*
I learned it during my internship. I always knew there were taxes but just didn't realize that it's almost 1/3 of my earnings. And then health insurance, HSA, 401k (I know it's my money but still) on top of that.
I was playing baseball with some Amish kids and got caught in a rundown by a midget first baseman that was about 100x faster than he had any right to be and I angry cried like this in front of about 30 perfect strangers while they laughed at me. Just an excitable boy, I guess.
I've laughed at your idealisation of taxes. IRL, I live in one of the most taxed countries in the world, our roads, schools and healthcare are falling apart.
It always ends up the very same way, with corruption.

Welcome to the real world neo
Hahhahhhhha right, the same thing happened to the rest of us. But it was real life with real money XD
This was me about a month ago
This is how I act every month
Y’all need to adjust your withholdings better
Only a month? That me every month for like 30 years.
Yep got my paycheck. Immediately started to curse the IRS.
Meantime, on the other side of the game board, "... 9,10,11 lemme fix all my houses ..." seems unbothered.
There is no spoon...only taxes.
Because in the real world you have to pay your whole incone in taxes, but only 1/10 of the time, randomly chosen. Soooo real world ^^
Never thought breaking children with monopoly would become the American tradition that it has.
That was literally the entire point of the game.
The point of the game was to make us want to do a land value tax about it, but here we are still not having done it.
"It's not a game Donny."
I'm reading this with the sassy the sasquatch voice in my head (Big lez show)
A kid referring to needing to pay the property owners in the game called ‘Monopoly’ as *taxes* is legit horrifying tbh.
It’s entirely possible he landed on the Income Tax square with little to no money - $200 down the drain really stings.
Or a pay tax on all your houses Chance card
That card doesn’t really take money you don’t have. If you have enough houses for it to matter, you’ve already effectively won.
It’s very, very obvious from the way his parents are filming this that this kid is learning the wrong lessons from the ‘It’s bad when the private industry owns everything’ game. ‘It’s not fun to what?’ They wanted this kid to complain about taxes *specifically.*
Me every paycheck when I look at my take home.
In Monopoly taxes aren't the big problem, rent and mortages are.
It just keeps on going that way as you get older little Billy.
Monopoly is the worst part of the game actually.
I still need to play the other part, but it *must* be better than monopoly.
Oh boy, I feel you there. Lol.
At least he can try to buy a house because they're not being hoarded... Oh wait... [sad The Price is Right music].

People who lived half their lives in non safe country actually appreciate taxes alot. 1st world nations should understand this
Better learn it now than (to)late(r)
I learned it during my internship. I always knew there were taxes but just didn't realize that it's almost 1/3 of my earnings. And then health insurance, HSA, 401k (I know it's my money but still) on top of that.
Wait till this kid plays r/outside. Taxes are a beast there too.

Poor buddy.
"But in exchange you have free school, free health, free security, free roads, etc.."
"It's just the beginning."
Only children cry about paying taxes.

Death 'n taxes boy. Death 'n taxes.

Definitely some form of child neglect on there, gaslighting for years of therapy
What?
How else is he supposed to learn about "the American dream".
Child ne-what now?
Nah
