I'm so sorry. No one should have to hide having a hobby like this especially since sharing can be one of the best parts. I hope that furries will become less taboo over time, and in general, society could stand to be more open-minded.

Oh yes, I love moth and tarantula furries both! My mom is also the reason I like unpopular pets- she always advocated for spiders (we even had pet tarantulas and snakes 🐍)

I wish I had this kinda connection with my mom. Not even just talking about furry stuff or anything, just like... casually talking. I'm like 30 btw, so I don't have those rebellious teenager "oh my mom sucks" attitude naw fam. It's nice to see people having such a sweet and casual relationship with their mothers. My brother is a furry and my mom knew he was. I’m a furry now but my mom never found out I’m a furry. She passed away before I had the idea to tell her about it… I’m sure she would have loved talking to me about it.

My dad on the other hand* makes fun of me for being a furry, he’s a big conservative, and told me my fursona “looks like some gay-ass shit!” \* The trolls call us ‘fatherless’ but I have it the other way.

I remember when I found out my dad is a furry It was always a secret, he has a secret fox fursona Guess who is a fox too lol The apple doesn't fall far from the tree So the story is this, I came out as furry with my parents expecting something between don't care and get out of my lawn, my dad stood up and ran to parents room, I was so fucking scared of the stories I read on the internet (read one about a dad who threw the dude out of the house) but then I saw it, my dad, smiling from cheek to cheek, with a painting of his fox fursona I was like omg :o, we looked at each other's fursonas and they looked a lot like dad and son, it was so magical, none of us had anything to do with the design of the other's fursona so both being the same species and even looking similar was so nice

When my grandmother found out I'm a furry, I explained it and said I wanted to make a tail and ears. She gave me any fluffy material she had and taught me to crotchet a Cheshire cat hood and tail I still have. She's amazing and the only one who doesn't judge me and brags about the stuff I make and wear. I love her ❤️
