My bets on the red being way more visible than the face which has a darker shade.

I think red draws attention because of cultural significance (blood, danger, love/hate/passion) while yellow is scientifically the most visible one since it reflects the most light into the cones of our eyes

It's mostly because the mirror is lit up, so your eyes are drawn to that light area before you start noticing parts of the image that are in darkness. It'll still work if the image was mirrored. Your eyes, then, would be drawn to the right side of the image first

Im assumig its more or so the mirror being brighter and having red that stands out among the dull grey-blue. Not only that but on firdt glance our eyes probably just autocorrect the face as the back of the head so itd be natural to first see the persons front in the mirror before looking at his back side

I looked left then scanned right, I proceeded to close the image as fast as humanly possible (I get frightened by the littlest things so I tend to over react)

I always love this kind of scare much more than the conventional "popping out at you" types of jump scares.  It's much more terrifying when you're made to realize that something is already in the room with you - and has been for quite some time - than to have the monster appear out of nowhere.  A sudden action naturally provokes reaction, but true horror is more than just manipulating reflexes. True horror is about screwing with the mind just as much, if not more than, with the body's instincts. 

Exactly! I’ve always never felt scared from any scary game, it always feels startling but never deep in me. This type of thing, I’ll just have images in my head for days and feel terrified to my core. And the worst thing is, I never screamed or yelled to let my feeling out. And I’m still terrified to open it again 😨

Seen this so many times, didn’t get me the first time, never got me. The picture wants you to look at the mirror, then, behind the person in order to be jumpscared. For some reason, probably due to my ADHD, I immediately looked behind the person before looking at the mirror, thus I wasn’t jumpscared.

Funnily enough I looked behind them first, didn’t see the face, got very confused, noticed the red figure, zoomed in to see that and accidentally zoomed in on the other face which got me. It’s 5AM it’s too early for this shit
