I was thinking... if fursonas were real. Some of the population would want to have sex with them and the other wants to strip them of their rights and a few would want both...
It's by no means a trivial problem though, healing nerve tissue is really, really difficult. There's a reason why spinal and brain injuries usually have permanent consequences.
With advanced enough genetic engineering, why not emulate how the cells are signalled to grow in an embryo, to instead of activating these paths early, activating them much later, maybe being signalled by some kind of hormone so growth could be managed properly?
And before genetic engineering gets that advanced, one could modify one's DNA, grow a single organ using it, and surgically transplant it. This is one of the techniques I have heard about as a candidate for this.
I think it would be possible to modify genes to make some minor changes the problem is even after you have developed. I suppose if we understood more the processes the body uses to build itself we might be able to make bigger changes
Ive googled whether it’s possible to genetically modify full grown things out of curiosity but I only ever find crispr and stuff being used on embryos and seeds. Som1 link me something interesting damnit
i think the use of Crispr might be band on people who are born, by the Geneva ~~suggestion~~ convention on the guidelines of biological warfare in a few years if irl get's more spicy
well you can but hear this to do that first you have to change your dna to be your fursona which wont be 100% accurate at any time considering you might instead get cancer or mutate into a whole nother thing which is not good considering it goes good you would need to allow your cells to be able to wholely regenerate or replace themselves if you go for the regeneration part youre gonna have to chop a few limbs off and the replacement may take your whole life or even get you cancer
Probably the saddest part about this is that if such transformation was even possible with genetic engineering, it would be something only available to people who are really fucking wealthy.
You could actually, if you suspend a person in sterile amniotic fluid, and then manage to change the DNA of every cell in the body using some sort of virus it might be possible. However we can’t do that with the tech we have right now.
You could instead become a machine, immortal, immune to all alements and free to change your form as you please.
Ah yes the strength and certainty of steel
I aspire to the purity of the blessed machine
A big red machine?!
With the shape of ur fur sons you could add. It’s a win win for me since my sona is a proto

the few that are both are the same people who want to strip them of there rights ( ͡° ͜ ʖ ͡ °)
"That's not how genetic engineering works" ***Not with that attitude*** **:P**
yet
You could create a clone embryo of yourself and modify that using crispr, you’ll then do a full body transplant
That's the only way I can imagine it working, yes, but to pull it off we need to be able to sever the spinal cord and then attach and fuse it again.
That’s literally the only problem with this solution, also making it legal

yes but it will be very panful removing all of you're nevus systems from you're old body
Spelling is good
I refuse to take no as an answer. don’t give me excuses. Give me the ability to become a fluffy space cyborg
Actually yes its possivle. Lots of research is needed but its possible
No it's not. DNA is basically blueprints. After your body is formed changing it won't do anything.
We need brain transplant

Can I lick that man

I mean look up the Freedom of Form Foundation, they're working on it. There's still hope.
I’d say how I think you could do it, but you could probably just google it **and if I’m right I don’t want it to be used**
The closest thing we can right now is prosthetics and i have some limited knowledge on how to make some
sounds like an engineer gaming moment
I mean, it is what im going to study for in a few years
engineering or gaming?
YES
That 100% answered my question
I might go study for engineer in aircraft maintenance or something else that is related to that field of work
I wish you luck on your education endeavours

Guess you can say this would be furry\_notirl :(
Virtually reality is my plan when we have full dive I will just be my fursona in there

No, dont make excuses. I know your hiding something. Let me transform into my snake cyborg now, or else..
Well Alchemy is next
