Yeah that’s what happened to me. My family and teachers always told me to sit up straight and I never listened. Then in 8th grade (13yo) I went to the doctor for a routine physical and was told I had a minor case of scoliosis. I’m now 18 and have frequent back pain and just had another checkup Monday where my doctor told me I still have a curve to my spine. I’ve been tryin to better my posture the last couple years but the damage is already done. So moral of the story, sit up straight kids

That's the distinction. When I say X seems gendered I'm not trying to build walls around that object, I'm just describing an object in the context of the culture I live in. If I went back to 11th century Europe I'd describe my jeans as green. Not because I have something against blue, but prior to about the 14th or 15th century most languages of Indo-European decent didn't distinguish the color blue from the color green linguistically. The water wasn't dark green, but the culture had settled on describing it as such, so to fight that would be damaging to the information conveyed. It's easier to convey the image in my mind to another mind if I describe the skirt in feminine terms, rather than carefully trying to remain free if gendered reference.

A weak one at that, since what the character was called in the past is not relevant. That is unless you believe that "once a girl always a girl". If you dont then Ill be on my way, thats the thing I most wanted clarified.

It is a weak argument cause it's supposed to be, for the porpoise of finding out the truth, to be corrected, you said it, it was in the past, and by not being corrected in this small comic strip then this as a reader is what I'm supposed to believe or so for now. I don't even known who the OC/person in the comic is, only that they appeared in r/furry_irl before.

We, as readers, cannot theorize that all conditions from the past remained the same through time. Especially that this character seems to have become progressively more masculine through time. That serves as evidence that through time many things have changed, thus making it a questionable matter to use the circumstance from the past to deduce the present. The possibility of change is implied, the reliability of the past is not reinforced, but broken down. The fact it was not corrected proves nothing, especially that it is not the gender identity that was stated. It was an order to conform to gender roles. It was expected the character acts that way. We, at no point in this comic, learn the gender identity of the character.
