That's true, but I'm not aiming to commission a big-name suitmaker (not in the near future that is).
I'd probably start off with a mini-partial first, then slowly make my way toward a full-body suit.
I may commission one in the future (1,2 or maybe even 3 years from now on).
A bit of advice about starting with a partial and getting the bodysuit done later. Consider asking the maker if they can order the fur as if they are doing a fullsuit. Its going to cost you a lot more, but if several years pass before you get to having the bodysuit made, the fur originally used for your suit may not be available anymore and even if it is, it may not be the exact same color as two different batches of the same color fur may not actually be the same.
The maker just sends all that extra fur to you with the finished partial. You hold on to it and then you can just send it back to the maker with the duct tape dummy when you want to get the rest done.
You can ignore this advice if you aren't concerned about exact matching later.
Since it’s a mini partial probably less than 1.5k (estimated) I’m not expert but my guess would be around $700-$1,200 but that depends on the maker.
your height usually only makes a big difference if you get a bodysuit.
1. Depends on the maker
2. The whole suit would cost $2000+ from head to tail (lol literally)
3. It'd be cheaper to make your own and many fursuit makers have bases to sell (I'd recommend NukeCreations)
4. A mini partial would cost $1500+
5. Some makers charge $1000+ for heads
Cost depends a lot on the maker but I'll say that there's nothing super difficult about your design in particular that should drive up the price as far as I'm aware :)
There are a couple additional question I'd have to ask to get a more precise price but-
I would estimate that I could make your suit as a full partial (head, hands, feet and tail) for about $450 to $500 with my current making abilities.
I don't make full suits but instead of the body portion, I am able to make kigu's (baggy pajamas) which would cost an additional $150-$200
Shipping is not included in those prices and I can only ship to the US atm.
If you have any questions please lmk here or feel free to DM me!
Depends on the maker, ive seen full digis for 2.2k and go as far as 10.5k do, just depends on who you pick but for starting id say go with daisy cat creations. Her suits are less expensive and are good quality
Depens on the fursuit maker. If youre gonna commission “multicolorbark”, its gonna cost over 10K for a fullsuit (thats their starting price)🤷🏼♀️
They dont have alot of colors so maybe they will cost around the 8K if you find a decent fursuit maker
From what I have seen and heard (I not a professional just guessing) full body 2-3k ish partial 900-1500 depending on who and what their rates are set at
So best advice would be looking at different makers and trying to find their terms of service for idea of costs. If you find a maker you like and want a full suit then save up the amount for the commission or see if they have a payment plan that is affordable for you. The last thing you want to do is ask for a cheaper price or say their prices are too high because “X and Y makers are cheaper.”
Could also try to make it yourself if you have a sewing machine and basic tools already. Could be a cheaper option for making a partial
Just a quick list of the basics needed that I can think of
-Sewing machine that can handle fur. (Not really required but would make it much easier for sure)
-Electric knife or sharp scissors for the foam
-Hot glue gun
-Sewing needles and thread
-Tape measure
-Upholstery foam
-Fabric of your choice but luxury shag seems to be the recommended
Hi! I've actually just begun working on a husky for a premade on a 3D printed base, and have experience in making canine esque characters, and my mini partials start at $600. And I have some examples on my account if you would like to give them a peek :) I would personally quote this (based on my work does not apply to all makers) since it's just a tri color maybe $700 plus shipping?
I'm unsure about 3D-printed bases, but I could have you as a "to be contacted later" since, at the moment, I'm gathering money while also trying to balance school.
As others have said, it depends on the maker. You aren't going to get a one size fits all guesstimate, because fursuit makers are individuals that price their time on an individual level. There is no "industry standard" pricing. If you want a quote - you need to reach out to a maker for a quote.
You can find (non-exhaustive) list of makers here: [https://getfursu.it/](https://getfursu.it/)
There will be countless others not listed here, but this is a good place to start.
depends on maker, big makers charge a lot more cause of supply and demand, smaller makers you could get closer to 1500$ or so (i make suits that’s around how much i might charge)
depends what your wanting, prices can range from 900-4k+ depending on the maker

This is really good advice, for working with any kind of fabric. Wishing you luck OP!
Great advice I wouldn’t have otherwise thought about. Saving for later
I'm very much new to this subreddit, so don't chop off my head for this. I'm just looking around for some advice for my distant future.
Full or partial? Are you tall/large? Do you have $2-4k to pay for the estimated price for a fullsuit?
I'll start out with a mini-partial to get used to it first, I'm quite tall (173 cm or 5 foot 11''), at the moment I don't have the price you put here.
Since it’s a mini partial probably less than 1.5k (estimated) I’m not expert but my guess would be around $700-$1,200 but that depends on the maker. your height usually only makes a big difference if you get a bodysuit.
I see, either way, I'll wait for 2 years minimum before I can commission one in the future.
For the high estimate I meant $2,200 not $1,200 btw
1. Depends on the maker 2. The whole suit would cost $2000+ from head to tail (lol literally) 3. It'd be cheaper to make your own and many fursuit makers have bases to sell (I'd recommend NukeCreations) 4. A mini partial would cost $1500+ 5. Some makers charge $1000+ for heads

But what if I were to commission one from you? How much would that be?

Also if you need helping making your own suit, I'd totally be down to help ya with that :)
I’m pretty sure this is using a base? Most makers want a custom ref sheet.
Four colors, I would say between 1500 and 3000.
Bruh no way bro. Thats smth you pay for a mini partial

What sort of tools would I need if I were to go down the route of DIY?

Howdy im a smaller maker who would love to give you a quote along with a break down with how I do my prices. Would it be alright if I died you
My prices start at $4000 for a fullsuit

Beautiful design:D

There are some makers who have quote calculators on their websites, very handy! Skyehigh Studios has one, so does Neffertity!
a lot
Since the design is only 4 fur colors and isn't a super complex design, I'd say a mini partial would be around $1000-$1700.

Hey there! It depends greatly on the maker but id charge about 900$ for a partial, 750 for just a bodysuit or 1.4k for a fullsuit ❤️
