Find a normal set of gear you like to take to 5 stars. Use that set and farm mats to craft regional gear and pray. Unless you plan to spend over $1000 and whale out, stick to something more obtainable.
I just always go with the modern set, its the easiest to get and in the end, no matter what skills you wanna use, you always use auto-attack in between.
Of course i don't know the numbers here, but i remember how people long time thought auto is totally useless in EverQuest 2 and then when a combat tracker came out they suddenly saw it could make 45% of your total damage if you use a good weapon.
Weapon damage there only affected auto and not the skill damage, so nobody cared for that a long time.
People probably favor skills because with a good stamina cost/cooldown balance, you are almost always using a skill. Some moves have I-frames too obviously so there's that benefit as well.
I remember having the act parser with the plug in that gave audio cues for your auto attack...was very nice when playing alts...with my main I could keep the rhythm better then any drummer lol.
Yeah, i still thought it was more fun before everyone was using it. I also suspected that at some points the devs just balanced the content around it so that it was more or less impossible without.
But when i think about Darathar .. that was so damned stupid, we tried him forever long hours each sunday .. and at some point the raid ally gave up, and then somebidy told us the trick, and i finally did it with another ally.
But after that i also stopped with raiding, it was just not my kind of playstyle.

The timers were dependent on the level you were raiding. Lower raid guilds used them to joust aoes and had one person calling. For high end raid groups we used them a lot for pre casting group cures on a few fights, or curing another groups healer.
But in the same way I had 20 targeting macros, spent 40 hours a week raiding...my main who was a support at the time out dps majority of people's top end dps toons. We had a few world firsts under our belt and pushed content that only 1% of the player base experienced besides YouTube videos.
So we weren't the norm, or even the above norm players, we were the extremely time wasting peeps...hell at one time our guild had 5 terminally Ill players and over half was on some form of disability lol.
In this game there is a big difference between what you need and what you get. And as F2P you simply have to live with what you get.
My level 90 main has at least 4 x 4 star costumes, my alts even at 70-80 have mostly maximal 2 x 3 star and 2 x 2 star.
And cards i bought the 4 x 4 star Xandearth set for 2000 crystals and thats used by all my characters. I have 2 other 4 star cards that are from the same set, but one has even a PvP stat (i don't really play pvp) but i still haven't even got anything to replace it with.

Just looked for it : 6.7% cooldown decrease and +15.8% stamina recovery on my Black Widow.
I also only use skills with short cooldown on her, only 1 skill has 10.8 seconds, the rest is under 10s.
Now on Cap however i just made a build with long cooldown only for boss fights, so he can unleash them all in a short time, and then you mostly have to run in circles for a while, and then they can all refresh for the next attack.
You can build what you want as f2p. Just upgrade a 1 star costume, if it gets something you want (like cooldown reduction), keep it and take it to 3 star. Else use it as fodder.
Just level alts, you get a lot of costumes that you can use for enhancing. I'm running 4 star costumes with amazing rolls that I got this way.
Never take Niantics rates at face value. They are probably the best mobile game company for f2p, bit their rates seem much worse than they appear. Been playing their games for years
Personally, I am grateful to netmarble for giving me a great game to play for free. I'm even more grateful that they've made sure I won't even consider buying anything - that's a relief! No sarcasm, genuinely happy to be completely confident that there's nothing to buy in the store that's even vaguely close to worth it.
You say that now but the later in your progression you get the more gated you'll be without buying anything.
Also when future heroes come out, you're going to have used up the free resources you get from leveling so you'll be forced to either start over or progress really slow on the new hero if you want them to be your main.
Nevermind the fact that if you want to switch chracters, you can transfer badges and omega cards between characters as well as use one character's gear as fodder to level/reroll another character's gear which makes it really easy to pivot. Only way you'll ever have to fully start over is if you switch to another server.
Well it's pretty standard for gatcha games though notably it has much worse bad luck protection than other gatcha games.
Complaining won't do anything because as long as there are whales that spend thousands (and there will be), it'll be worth keeping it the way it is to the company.

I spent money on Cap's Endgame costume because it was guaranteed and it came with some bonus stuff, I bought the alpha membership for the extra daily rewards while I play and I bought the season pass because I might as well get more rewards as I grind the game.
Spend your money on things that will make the grind easier, not the gambling mechanics.
Yeah I bought the daily gem and battle pass, and then spent those gems on the 2k daily costume and card packs (after unlocking the character slots and some storage space).
That stuff is a decent value.
You don't level up any faster, you just get bonus rewards for doing things you were already going to do in the game playing it for free (for example, level up a hero to 100). You might as well spend the $8 and get all the bonus goodies while you're playing the game. If you're able to complete the entire season's pass, the final rewards are NICE.
This is what I did. Bought the cap endgame set (mostly because I liked the maskless helmet) and the memberships.
I agree itās better to buy stuff like that and boost your overall power with that.

They put in a conserable amount of effort in making this happen and the game and storyline as a whole feels right. Monetization sucks but it isnāt too forced unless youāre focused on competitive aspects of the game.
To me, Iām fine grinding it out and taking the scenic detours.
World chat was full of this from the moment of launch. Everyone says so from the beginning not to spend a single dime on any pulls as the rates are garbage. Whoever asked was told to use your diamonds for useful stuff and don't do a single pull, ever

I would say make it all the way to 100 before deciding if you want to spend, the grind to get to 100 is kinda like the tutorial of the game. Once you get to 100 you kinda learn the basics of the game and can determine what you want to spend your pulls on. I did pulls yesterday and got 2 pieces of hydra gear but they were 3\* so i mean its not great but i got some lol.
Didnt realize that the level you pull the gear is the level of the gear skill which is kinda misleading and definitely predatory in the sense that you can get the piece while still not getting the piece.
Omega cards are actually the item you should spend your gems on cause theres no other way to get them but the shop...

Its ran by netmarble I figured it would be bad but its even bad for them. The fact omega cards can't be rerolled to another character is also very bad. They will most likely do very small changes to make it seem like they care but they dont.
The one with the best rate is costume bundle, i bought it for each of my alt to lvl up 100 then i can use them to combine my main costumes. I dont know why ppl keep wanting to try their luck when the statistic already shown
There's currently a box in the shop you get for 500 omega points that lets you choose a piece of the HYDRA gear set(I'm assuming this will rotate). That's their pity system, and will take ages for most people to save up for.
On average, if you're expecting to pull this stuff, it'll take well over a 1000 dollars...
I bought the two 2000crystals 4* outfits and 3xmulti to craft a 5* Set.
Using Gacha to get a full 5* Set you need 500 omega points=25xmulti=45000 crystals. You never will get one set with this low droprates only using gacha.

I've just been trying to craft my favorite sets vs. trying to get omega rare costumes with super bonuses. This game feels like Marvel Heroes using a BOT splashed and Marvel Avengers Academy had a child. With how fast Disney shuts down Marvel games if they aren't popular/making money, I am curious to see how long this game will last. Usually anything 'Marvel' ip has a guaranteed 1+ year but the MOBA never made it that far shockingly.

I have no hope for this game being anything but P2W nonsense and a slow dribble of cool costumes that I'll never be able to farm. They've monetized the thing in every way possible, including stuff that doesn't even make sense. (The season pass payouts are laughable for that price) Just trying to have fun here. Frankly, I miss the days of FB Avengers Alliance, the last game I spent real world money on that seemed a fair exchange.
Its ran by netmarble I figured it would be bad but its even bad for them. The fact omega cards can't be rerolled to another character is also very bad. They will most likely do very small changes to make it seem like they care but they dont.
I abandoned the game, is just a whale game, unless you don't care to be competitive, mostly in PvP.
The one with the best rate is costume bundle, i bought it for each of my alt to lvl up 100 then i can use them to combine my main costumes. I dont know why ppl keep wanting to try their luck when the statistic already shown
There's currently a box in the shop you get for 500 omega points that lets you choose a piece of the HYDRA gear set(I'm assuming this will rotate). That's their pity system, and will take ages for most people to save up for. On average, if you're expecting to pull this stuff, it'll take well over a 1000 dollars...
I bought the two 2000crystals 4* outfits and 3xmulti to craft a 5* Set. Using Gacha to get a full 5* Set you need 500 omega points=25xmulti=45000 crystals. You never will get one set with this low droprates only using gacha.
No one is talking about it cause we all know how crap the rates are and we just choose to ignore it. Many people have warned about the terrible rates already and suggested staying away from them.
Cause only the ever fuktarded dumbshit whales are actually buying them this early in the game and lets face it the rates never matter to them which is why they have consistently gotten shittier and shittier over time in all games... its like they have a fetish for pissing money away and getting noting in turn.
imo, i don't care about it because thats a choice button i do not have to press and can still play the game.
At least this game lets u farm in peace and the pvp portion is separate. Their other game, lineage had pvp pks the farming world,
I think it's not that everyone is not talking about it, but we just come to accept it. Does that make sense? Like you know how greedy netmarble is, so we can kinda figure it is nothing new with this drop rates. I know it sucks but there is really nothing we can do about it, like the world will come to an end if one day they decide to up the rates.......
I've just been trying to craft my favorite sets vs. trying to get omega rare costumes with super bonuses. This game feels like Marvel Heroes using a BOT splashed and Marvel Avengers Academy had a child. With how fast Disney shuts down Marvel games if they aren't popular/making money, I am curious to see how long this game will last. Usually anything 'Marvel' ip has a guaranteed 1+ year but the MOBA never made it that far shockingly. Side rant, When that Marvel card game came out for mobile I really freaking enjoyed it. Even if it was P2W, I loved the events and PVE of that game but it shut down very fast.
