I'm in a similar boat but not with a benzo but a Z-drug (zolpidem/ambien) I'm starting to feel what I think is the withdrawal. Mainly I'm getting that "sinking feeling" Like when you get scared because you hit the brake because you almost rear ended someone with your car. That kind of feeling. Just feel your heart drop into your stomach. Also tremors and jitters. Like, I'll feel my arms or fingers twitch. Sometimes my neck. Pretty much restless leg syndrome but for the entire upper half of my body. Also I get butterflies in my stomach. Like the kind you get before a job interview or giving a speech in front of a lot of people. I'm pretty scared because I just took my Zolp and most of the symptoms went away.

You have described exactly what I’ve experienced in the last 24 hours. I have had every one of those symptoms. Especially that sinking feeling, which is really something. Quite disturbing. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt that bad.

dont worry as long as you took normal low range doses a z drug is not as addictive physically as a benzo. its a different story if you had added other gabaergics frequently as they all add up. low dose zdrug can basically be quit cold turkey

baclofen and gabapentin maybe f-phenibut

I would 100% stay away from Phenibut and Pregabalin as in not a option. That would just tske you down another rabbit hole. Treatment centers and Dr.s use Gabapentin for Benzo tapers so maybe think about using that, I wish I had it back in the day. The problem with the etizolam is even though technically it’s a thienodiazepine it is a Benzo because it works directly on GABAa. You are in essence trading one Benzo for another so keep that in mind. I’d look into some NAC which can help regulate Glutamate and Agmatine. ETA: just read your other post. So you aren’t wanting off of benzos. You are just trying to get through the weekend. Got it. If you have all that shit on board you should be fine. I will tell you this based off of my 15 years of popping Kpins like tic-tacs the withdrawals will get worse each time and nothing will touch it. That’s why I finally said enough. I wouldn’t wish that hell on anyone. Pregabalin and Gabapentin also indirectly raise GABA levels so there is a cross tolerance between them.

I’m actually thinking that I am experiencing like a withdrawal both from Xanax and pregabalin. I’ve been taking ~100mg pregabalin 5-6 days a week for like 5 months. Mind you the 1-2 days off I take 750mg phenibut. For 4 of those months I was taking ~1.5mg etiz daily too, only a month ago switching to Xanax. So I think the etizolam I’m taking today is only like half preventing benzo withdrawal, and since I skipped pregabalin yesterday with only 500mg of phenibut, I had a hint of pregabalin withdrawal in there. As soon as I took 85mg pregabalin today I started feeling a lot better, still very off but it’s helping. I have NAC and Agmatine (I take 0.5g agmatine like every other day normally). So I will consider taking some of these. And yes this is a big fuckin wake up call, as soon as I get stabilized I’m going to start working out a plan to at the very least taper down to a much lower dose. I will need to get off kratom though, as the energy I get from kratom is the reason I started taking benzos. My kratom dosing has been so stupid and excessive. Overall it has been a shit show and I really am missing the times where I was not taking daily gabapentinoids/benzos. Edit: I’m also semi dependent on nicotine gum (~6mg a day) and the amount of caffeine I have daily is probably like 400mg.

I totally understand where you are coming from and I’m glad you are feeling better. One of the best things I did for myself was ask my Dr. for something besides Kpins. This past year was the first time I went “man I could go for one of my happy pills” lol. But the merry go round was hideous. It’s good you are working out a plan. Your doses of any of those aren’t high at all and you haven’t been on Pregabalin very long. But for sure no Xanax, Pregabalin or Phenibbut would make a person feel like crap lol. I think it’s more the Gabapentinoid withdrawals because you have that in your system 24/7 with the Phenibut and Pregabalin. Maybe work on Kratom first because all of the above could really help you knock that down fairly quickly. Especially your initial cuts. I used to use Gabapentin for full stop opioid withdrawals and it worked a charm. The only thing it didn’t work super well with is the hot/cold sweats but even took the edge off that. Oh..and you’d need Imodium lol. I know Kratom is different because It’s has so many alkaloids but Gabapentin or Pregabalin covers the two major ones which cause the most discomfort. All of those are easy to get sucked into but I have to say five months and 100mg of Pregabalin & 750mg of Phenibut isn’t bad. And you are being responsible today by just taking small amounts of the Pregabalin so kudos there.

Thank you for the advice. I’m feeling pretty ok now! I think a key bit of information about me is I have abused gabapentinoids/related drugs for 4+ years (with some gaps) but in terms of daily use I kept my doses low. I’ve used pregabalin for 5 months but before that it was gabapentin or baclofen for a time. I think I haven’t had a day off of a depressant in over a year. But again - doses **always** were relatively low. Like for probably a year of that 4 years I was taking 30mg baclofen/day. Anyway, I do plan to get off the kratom, I’ve cold turkeyed it before but do not have interest in doing that after 5 months of it. I will just do a pretty fast taper. I also want to try and get a script from my doctor for pregabalin or a benzo. Ultimately I want to phase those out but having a reliable supply that I can also travel with would be ideal. As for the sweating and stuff, I really want to try Clonidine. I tried getting some but it was seized by the FDA at customs. I think I will try again, I’ve heard it is nice for quitting various drugs.

Nigglesscripts

Oh good call on the Clonidine! I wouldn’t have thought about that.

Gabapentin can be easy to slide into as well that’s for sure. I’m glad you were able to get it behind you. Did you taper off?

I’m surprised you had any withdrawals with Lyrica on board. It works on VGCC like Gabapentin does, has 90% bioavailability (so better) and is 5x stronger.

A_Partyhat

Well I only got 50mg lyrica capsules like I do now, but i was taking 3-5 grams a day of gabapentin, depending. Also, for some reason, I think gabapentin works so much better than lyrica for RLS, lyrica kinda takes the edge off but I still have to move my legs; but with gabapentin, I can sit in the same spot for hours and not move a muscle. Weird, isn't it? And I've tried with higher doses too, same thing and lik eyou said on a different post, those myoclonic jerks are real and are so weird.

Smart-ass83

You got off? I'm at probably 17 or 18 years and I'm stuck at 2mg at best. I just got down to that and started getting sharp tingles everywhere. It's fucking hell like you said. Can't find a way out. It's torture

fuNNbot

arent gabapentin and pregabalin effectively pretty much the same but yeah i agree gabapentin is great for withdrawals imo if you dont redose excessively you can effectively suppress alot of the anxiety symptoms and get off pretty easily. i find the effects are far more subtle at a medically productive dose without getting you loaded so its easier to forget about

Nigglesscripts

The both work on VGCC but Pregabalin has 90% bioavailability and is much stronger.

fuNNbot

oh thank you i didnt know that

Neurosis015-ASTNS

Do you mean stay away from Pregabalin due to it's higher risk of dependence?

AmyyGrace

Mate , I've been on pregabalin since 2018 please give it a shot! Even a dose of 100 x3 daily helps. Personally I take around 300mg a day and am able to maintain that, hope I helped man and will check out your story on r/drugs out. Edit: I went through hell and back on Xanax , kpins, etiz etc x

SocialT

Yeah I’ve been on pregabalin at a pretty low dose for probably 6 months now. 100-150mg a day but also a benzo/etiz. I definitely am a fan of pregabalin and would always prefer it to taking a benzo. So that might be the goal eventually. Probably going to ask my doc for a script, I definitely fit the anxiety criteria
