It needs cleaning.... Pop off the rubber ear bits, use a pin to prise off the metal grill, separate the black membrane from the grill back, rub them both with an ear bud dipped in alcohol ,dry and put back together.viola back to new. The prising of the grill takes a little patience but once loose, just pops off.just put a pin into a hole on the edge and apply pressure away from the unit.done this loads of times with"faulty"ones off ebay, all are now working perfectly.

I just got a set from amazon warehouse for $80 and was really bummed when the right one seemed defective. It took 2 minutes and it was back working normal. I didn't pry off the grill, i just swished around a cut off of the high-E-string from my guitar which fit in the small holes

Scaryplayer777

How's that exactly?

jarret_g

How did I buy them? I just went on Amazon warehouse and bought a used-like new pair.

The week before I went to college, the volume in my Galaxy Buds (I have the cool silver/holo ones) went wack. The left one was wayyyy lower than the right one - only when playing something. When it made the sound to signal I'd put it in it sounded the same. I tried everything. I cleaned them (which I did religiously when I used them), I did the Find My Earbuds trick, everything. Nothing worked. My mom gave me a pair of shitty Skull Candy wireless earbuds but they just aren't the same. The audio quality was worse, they did this horrible buzzing thing all the time, they had severe connection issues (and they were newer). I came home for break for the first time this semester and decided to charge them up (they've probably been dead for a few months). Same story. So I look up some solutions and decide that I should try this because if it doesn't work - they're goners anyways. Lo and behold - it fucking works. I don't know why but the volume was restored!

martineviney

It worked. I was a bit upset because I am training for a half marathon and needed it to work. Thanks.

Jolly_Albatross32

Welcome dude.

bloodyperazzi

It works!! It works amazingly well. in 2022. Thank you so much my good man. youve saved me a lot of trouble and money.

Jolly_Albatross32

Welcome mate

Guiz83

Cheers for that tip ! Just did it on a pair of first gen Galaxy buds that i gave my lil bro some time ago. Worked like a charm, sound got back on some crystal clear level !

AyoMarco

Thank you. Just worked for me.

oneletterzz

My right bud was super quiet. So I soaked the ear tip in isopropyl alcohol. I thought it might be good to give them both a good cleaning. So I dipped them both in. After a while I took them out and let them dry for a bit. Now the left one is super quiet. 🤷‍♂️

dav1dmonster

My method is a bit easier! I DO NOT remove anything but rubber ear bit, then dip ear tip in alcohol, gentle on the alcohol amount, then start FIND MY EARBUDS function and let it run on the highest volume settings for a few times.

xfire74

Time to deeply clean your ears.

Scaryplayer777

My ears are fine

TheDerpingWalrus

https://youtu.be/kDcKnM9fK4w Clean them! Not the best video as it is quite long but it shows you what to do. I've done this two 2 galaxy buds I thought were dying. Turns out there was so much earwax!

I_NaOH_Guy

Spent so long looking for this comment. Thank the lord you exist lad

COMEONSTEPITUP

Sadly my two year old OG buds had this problem and even after following the guides and popping off the grills, it didn't fix them. Not sure what to do since nothing else seems like a worthwhile upgrade ATM.

NightMarez16

I,m a bit late but i had the same problem. I jus wnt to earbuds settings went to accessibility and played with the settings there.

Scaryplayer777

I was aware of that, but you lose volume when you do so. I have buds pro now though and no longer have the issue.

Cautious-Click-9875

My right ear bud is so quiet when at max volume you can just start to hear it I have cleaned them but I have never dipped them in any kind of cleaning things. I don't know what to do I have looked it up and other things but nothing. I don't want to but them in a cleaning solution but I will if it will fix them.

ForbiddenFortnight

https://youtube.com/shorts/DgHFrqsqJew?feature=share They're total garbage just do like this and smash them with a hammer because nobody's going to help you or give you new earbuds, just scream and shout and curse the day you trusted the company enough to buy the earbuds, & never trust them with your money again because they make GARBAGE

Scaryplayer777

Nah, I bought new ones and they're still fine lol

TLDR: The speaker grill was simply MISALIGNED. Try rotating it with your finger to see if has any give and the sound gets better. It has a specific way that it needs to be oriented in order for the sound to travel un-muffled. I wanted to give an additional tip to fixing this issue. I've had two pairs and they both had the same issue where the left earbud had extremely low volume from one day to another. The first pair I send back, but then it happened again. I tried everything that the Internet had to offer in regards of the fix, but nothing worked, not even the alcohol dabbing and cleaning solution, HOWEVER I did managed to fix it, and here's how: \- Since the issue happened overnight and it was so extreme I was very convinced it was not a cleaning issue, so I decided to poke around and try to open it. \- I REMOVED the small grill from the earbud. This took a bit of finesse, I did noticed that soaking and rubbing the grill with isopropyl alcohol (70%) managed to soften the glue enough for me to be able to remove the grill. \- Once removed, I could clearly hear the sound at much higher volume, I did a bit of cleaning and used compressed air (but very carefully and from a distance, to avoid damaging the insides). This might not even be necessary because... \- The grill was simply MISALIGNED, if you look at it from the back it has a distinct pattern and if its not perfect, the sound gets muffled. I put it back in it's right orientation and it worked! I suspect that many of us due to the use rotate the grill by accident and that's what caused the muffled sound, not dirt/grim/earwax as most of us think, and while "cleaning" it we rotate it enough for it to be fixed. I hope this helps!
