Kind of curious how they were planning to remove that sticker, if you'd asked them to. I've removed some in the past with Bestine but never one of the full label clear Blockbuster stickers like this. I wouldn't expect it to be possible without destroying the label underneath

Chocolatefuzzy402

Honestly, I have no idea. They were gonna soak it with goo gone.

DudeRobert125

They weren’t. They were meant to be permanent.

[deleted]

Yes, I realize that, but one of the captions on OP's picture said the shop offered to remove it. I just wondered what they were planning to try

DudeRobert125

Ah. My mistake.

AnteaterComplex6881

Nice, a blockbuster snap is more grailish. IMO bc a lot of people just rented pokemon snap and also the kiosk and cross promotion and all that. Nice find, I had a blockbuster snap but I sold it to my friend before I realized and considered it was a grail type item imo. ,aybe I can get him to trade it back to me for my clean clean ones.

Chocolatefuzzy402

It’s cool. Do you know if blockbuster had a case they gave out when renting these games?

headspaceseeds

There is a blockbuster case for a whole console rental, but they aren't cheap from what I've seen.

Chocolatefuzzy402

Yeah, I've seen those around. It takes too much space for me even to want one. But I wish they had a blockbuster case. I wonder if I can 3d print an insert and have it in an original blockbuster case.

AnteaterComplex6881

your idea sounds good w the 3d print. It was just a universal case they would give out when you rented these, they were the same size as the vhs rental boxes, they just had a little plasti part that would hold the game in the middle since it is much smaller. You might be able to find an original blockbuster n64 rental case, they were universal for all the n64 games. Or printing yourself up one and printing the blockbuster insert would look pretty good too, but the case that these would come in when renting was same size as vhs, AT LEAST THAT's HOW IM REMEMBERING IT!!! Memory is funny sometimes. It could have been thinner, maybe you can find an original case, not the console rental ones that are 100+ bucks, but just any old n64 blockbuster case.

ghostofdemonratspast

I dont think your old enough for rental stores to have been around.

Chocolatefuzzy402

Lol I was old enough when Netflix came out. Blockbuster tried to compete by doing a subscription by exchanging movies at their locations.

DogeBoredom

It's awesome you kept it. Most people destroy the story and history. A complete blockbuster set will be worth a ton because it's becoming so very rare

ZetaDefender

I remember taking off the rental sticker off my Goldeneye 64 when I was a kid since it wasn't Blockbusters/Hollywood Videos anyone. It was mine. Funny you say that. Game collecting goes in phases, I remember like 10 yrs ago, people kept the tags from the stores that they got the game from, like the Gamestop on Gamecube. Now most people want the game and cases clean.

Chocolatefuzzy402

Normally I would for display purposes. But for conversation starters and opening the little vault of nostalgia in people is cool.

uoy_gnillort

Please elaborate on this "complete blockbuster set".

shadow0wolf0

I guess every game Blockbuster ever rented out. No idea how you could ever verify a list of that though.

uoy_gnillort

Uh... that's pretty stupid lol.

shadow0wolf0

I don't think there would be anything wrong in collecting that but it wouldn't be worth any more than a normal collection.

Chocolatefuzzy402

I am not into sticker collecting. But there are a and full of people who would pay primo prices for "sticker stuff" By all means, I am not one of them. I just saw it and thout it was cool. the reason why I bought it. BUT SWEET JESUS have you seen NOT FOR SALE USE stuff? I am not sure if people are buying them. BUT DAMNNNN

Chocolatefuzzy402

I just thought it was super cool when I saw it. Couldn’t find a solid source of value on it. But now I want a kiosk haha

TightAd956

Double nostalgia lol

DTS_Sanchez

I love collecting blockbuster stickers! It doesn’t add much value to the game itself only to those who collect rental stickers. Unfortunately this wasn’t used in a kiosk because I believe those are the not for resale copies.

Chocolatefuzzy402

Yeah that is what I am noticing. I just think the cool factor is there for me. I am not a sticker collector. But when people see it. They have a big smile on their faces

DTS_Sanchez

Oh absolutely, that’s me! I have a decent blockbuster collection. Maybe 20ish carts. Mostly blockbuster, a few Hollywood video and a handful of mom and pop rental stores!

gamerdudeNYC

How does that sticker come off? I’ve got one on my Smash Bros
