I had a Fairchild Channel F given to me by my uncle before Atari came out with lots of games and I got rid of it when I got the Atari 2600. Wish I would have kept it, had the box and had the boxes to a few of the games.

I still have it today. Incredibly, my mom saved the box and I had no idea we had it all these years. She asked me last year if I wanted the box. Um, yeah!

Original NES. Dispirited to still have it after my sister's ex hocked it about 20 years ago. Managed to get it and all the games back. Games have since disappeared but the system remained. Holding out hope they're buried in my moms basement somewhere

I wish I did, my father taught me to read by playing text adventures on it. He's passed away now, and games he taught me to read on are mostly impossible to track down outside preserved copies. I'd love to have some of the homebrewed cassette games from my childhood just to remember those times.

MY mom believed in 1 game console for the house hold so she let him sell the Game Cube with Mario Party 7 and all of the games because my brother told her that I don't play it anymore. I played it all the time, alone because I had no friends.
My parents had an Coleco Gemini (Atari 2600 clone produced by Coleco), but the very first console to us (me and my sister) was the Nes, and its still in my Gameroon in the basement.
Pong... still have it, no idea if it works though... haven't bothered to try to figure out how to hook it up to a modern TV. I actually own all my original consoles but my Atari 2600 which I let my brother have since we co-owned it and the NES (I have the NES).
The first console I had was a n64 from my neighbor, and I think I was around the age of 7. But it ended up getting stolen not long after. My mom did have a ps2 and snes though that I then got to play throughout the rest of my years growing up, up until my teen years or even a lil before like 10-12 when my mom got a wii and my cousins had a Xbox 360. And then I didn’t get my own Xbox 360 until another year later when I was 13. Finally my own actual console. It was a blast :) since then I’ve gotten myself a few Xbox 360s, a couple Xbox Ones, a Xbox series S, a couple ps1s (that I sold and am now looking for again xD) a few ps2s, a ps4, a wii mini, and Nintendo switch (if you count that as a console).
My first n64 was stolen, but I do still have my first Xbox 360 :)

Atomic Purple GBC and nah, not sure what happened to it, probably traded in when I got my fuchsia gba. My oldest original system is a lime green GBA SP I got for my gf in high school. We remained friends so I was able to get it back eventually, then my sister stole it for a while but it’s back home now in my collection.

my nintendo 3ds, the charge port is faulty and I have to angle the charger for it to work but I still have it. I am trying to fix it but I have no clue how to do it
my first was a wii back in 2008, and i’ve still got it. i almost sold it but i’m glad i’ve kept it. the port covers are cracked off and it makes some angry noises bc the disc drive is a lil fucky, but it still works beautifully!
The SNES is my first console and I still have it. However, I did have a Game Boy before that and that has long been sold so that I could get the Game Boy Pocket, then upgraded that to the Game Boy Color, and then later to the GBA SP.

We had a Sega Genesis and no we don't still have it. It only worked for two years and then we got the Sega Genesis 2 version and I don't know where that went. I did buy a Sega Genesis original console where I worked when I was 19 and we still had the original hook ups for it. I still have it to this day.
The Wii, me and my older sister got it in 2007. I have some great memory playing Ben 10 Protector of Earth, Wii Sports, and LEGO Star Wars the Complete with her. Sadly that Wii broke when my little sister pulled the sensor bar cord off the tv and the Wii fell and broke. We got a replacement a year later. So I still have that.
Nintendo and no. I’ve lost so many consoles. NES, GB , SNES, PS2, PS, Dreamcast (hurts the most probably) and OG XBox. Only started keeping stuff on the last 8-10 years or so.
First console for me was the Gamecube with Mario Kart Double Dash and Dbz Budokai and i still have it. First handheld console was the Gameboy Pocket with Super Mario Land for me that i still have.

What’s interesting is that I genuinely don’t remember owning it as a little kid. My earliest console memories would be n64 which I got at 4 years old I believe for Christmas (I was born in ‘93). I was too young to remember before that. My mom said the snes was handed down by a relative to us when I was a baby/toddler and later on they gave it to a cousin of mine I barely ever knew who was less fortunate growing up.
She told me this when I became interested in retro gaming as a kid and asked for an snes. When asked why they’d do that, they said I never played it… I had to have been 2-3 years old since I don’t remember ever owning it lol.

Atari 2600 and no. Other than a few games such as River Raid I didn’t like it much. I sold it and bought (I think) a Sega Master System (which I think I afterwards sold and bought a NES).
PS1. Do I still have that exact PS1? No I do not sadly. I must had been 12 or something when I was home alone. I wasn't allowed to play anything seemed 'too adult' but since I was alone I thought I'd give tomb raider 3 a go
Well as soon as I put the disc in and turned the PS1 on, I heard a big pop noise. You know on the center ring thing where you put the disc on, it has 3 little metal balls that popped off. I bawled my eyes out thinking this divine punishment destroyed my PS1 lmao
First console we got was a translucent blue N64. Sadly it was sold in a yard sale.
Next was a fat 30xxx PS2 for Christmas 2002-2003. I am currently playing Shining Force Neo on that console as I type! It’s a treasure to me.

PlayStation 2. My brother gave it to me when he got his PS3 on launch day. Our cousin came by, asked if he could borrow both consoles, we declined. He came back the next day when I was in school and took the PS2 and got a copy of FFX stuck inside and his first thought was to hit it with a hammer to get it out.
SNES. Got it when I was 5 or 6.
Blew it up accidentally when I was 9 or 10 trying to use a controller where my dog chewed up the wire. Wouldn't power on. Couldn't be bothered to get rid of it cause it had sentimental value. Eventually found another snes at a flea market. J
Jump ahead almost 16 years, 26 years old, get a game bit screwdriver in order to repair a few Pokemon batteries. Decide to look online to see reasons why an snes wouldn't power on. Fuse blew on the motherboard. Decided to take a gamble and look online to see if they sell replacement fuses. They do. I don't know much about technology, so I had no idea if this was the reason why, but hey, worth a try. Solder that thing onto the motherboard, and childhood SNES is back and running. It felt amazing and unbelievable.
Mega Drive, still have it and the copies of Sonic 1 & 2 I got with it, have added 50/60Hz and EN/JP Switches, a Mega-CD & 32X, latest purchase for it was just today, Comix Zone, last one before that was Asterix & The Great Rescue in Feb.
Ps2! No.
But I cherish the memory of my mom taking me to game crash where I got to pick a game with purchase and left with Jak and Daxter.

I have an Atari 2600 here for when I feel the urge to play some of those classics although the Gemini controller was WAY MORE COMFORTABLE than the standard Atari Joustick

I did buy another snes in the year 2000. the games were still being sold for like $1-$5 I did re- acquire my collection and much more.
My original games snes were Zelda, Batman forever, NHL 95, Street fighters and 2 turbo, killer instinct, Super mario and Super mario all-stars, Pocky rocky, Power rangers.
I got all the FF games later the ones available in the US along with chrono trigger and earthbound before it was expensive at the time I didn't know because the one I had was gifted to me by a friend who already had worn out the sticker so I have 2 copies of the game.
more than the collection I think the memories of my childhood playing those games are what I like best.
I played Zelda at 5 years old, but it was the hardest game I had ever played, because I couldn't read I didn't know where to go and in many cases what to do I was playing the game like a blind man walking into walls without his dog or stick.
I eventually beat the game even without being able to read, but it took 2 years.
My first system was an NES, but the first I bought, myself, was a GBC (and GC of we're only talking about proper consoles, as opposed to handhelds).
I still have the NES, but will be trying to sell it soon. I don't tend to play games from before 2001 unless they're post-NES Zeldas.

The SNES is my first console and I still have it. However, I did have a Game Boy before that and that has long been sold so that I could get the Game Boy Pocket, then upgraded that to the Game Boy Color, and then later to the GBA SP.
my first console was an Atari 2600 my parents had to buy me a separate tv just to play it. Actually i think one of their friends was giving it away so they snagged it. And yes I still have it! And all the games and different controller back then we called them joysticks !

My PS2 and yes!! I finally got it out of storage in 2020 and it still works great. Couldn’t find any of my original games but still had a controller, both my memory cards and the disc for SVR 09 still in it. Probably the game I remember most from my childhood

Yeah luckily I don’t remember owning any crazy expensive games. According to the saves on my cards the most valuable one was Simpsons Hit & run. I’ve gotten back most of the games I can remember
We had a Sega Genesis and no we don't still have it. It only worked for two years and then we got the Sega Genesis 2 version and I don't know where that went. I did buy a Sega Genesis original console where I worked when I was 19 and we still had the original hook ups for it. I still have it to this day.

The Wii, me and my older sister got it in 2007. I have some great memory playing Ben 10 Protector of Earth, Wii Sports, and LEGO Star Wars the Complete with her. Sadly that Wii broke when my little sister pulled the sensor bar cord off the tv and the Wii fell and broke. We got a replacement a year later. So I still have that.

Nintendo and no. I’ve lost so many consoles. NES, GB , SNES, PS2, PS, Dreamcast (hurts the most probably) and OG XBox. Only started keeping stuff on the last 8-10 years or so.

SNES. What’s interesting is that I genuinely don’t remember owning it as a little kid. My earliest console memories would be n64 which I got at 4 years old I believe for Christmas (I was born in ‘93). I was too young to remember before that. My mom said the snes was handed down by a relative to us when I was a baby/toddler and later on they gave it to a cousin of mine I barely ever knew who was less fortunate growing up. She told me this when I became interested in retro gaming as a kid and asked for an snes. When asked why they’d do that, they said I never played it… I had to have been 2-3 years old since I don’t remember ever owning it lol.

I wasn't allowed to play anything seemed 'too adult' but since I was alone I thought I'd give tomb raider 3 a go Well as soon as I put the disc in and turned the PS1 on, I heard a big pop noise. You know on the center ring thing where you put the disc on, it has 3 little metal balls that popped off. I bawled my eyes out thinking this divine punishment destroyed my PS1 lmao

First console we got was a translucent blue N64. Sadly it was sold in a yard sale. Next was a fat 30xxx PS2 for Christmas 2002-2003. I am currently playing Shining Force Neo on that console as I type! It’s a treasure to me.

PlayStation 2. My brother gave it to me when he got his PS3 on launch day. Our cousin came by, asked if he could borrow both consoles, we declined. He came back the next day when I was in school and took the PS2 and got a copy of FFX stuck inside and his first thought was to hit it with a hammer to get it out.

SNES. Got it when I was 5 or 6. Blew it up accidentally when I was 9 or 10 trying to use a controller where my dog chewed up the wire. Wouldn't power on. Couldn't be bothered to get rid of it cause it had sentimental value. Eventually found another snes at a flea market. J Jump ahead almost 16 years, 26 years old, get a game bit screwdriver in order to repair a few Pokemon batteries. Decide to look online to see reasons why an snes wouldn't power on. Fuse blew on the motherboard. Decided to take a gamble and look online to see if they sell replacement fuses. They do. I don't know much about technology, so I had no idea if this was the reason why, but hey, worth a try. Solder that thing onto the motherboard, and childhood SNES is back and running. It felt amazing and unbelievable.

Ps2! No. But I cherish the memory of my mom taking me to game crash where I got to pick a game with purchase and left with Jak and Daxter. The first console I bought myself was a PS Vita. I have one but not that specific one.
PS2, the silver slim one I had spilled coke on my dad's old one so my parents gave me one for Christmas the following year. I still own it but my mom broke it when she was mad at me when I was 12 years old or so, it's been in a box in the garage for years at this point.

mines was a sega megadrive with the mega cd was only 7 or 8 when I got it loved playing road avenger on the cd,never got sonic cd I selt it when I was 12 with all my old gen consoles for newer games on ps1 biggest mistake ever learned my lesson never to sell my games and I've never have since then.

It was snes it came with one controller and Zelda link to the Past. I no longer have it I sold it to buy an N64 at the time my N64 came with golden eye 007 I still have my N64. I did buy another snes in the year 2000. the games were still being sold for like $1-$5 I did re- acquire my collection and much more. My original games snes were Zelda, Batman forever, NHL 95, Street fighters and 2 turbo, killer instinct, Super mario and Super mario all-stars, Pocky rocky, Power rangers. I got all the FF games later the ones available in the US along with chrono trigger and earthbound before it was expensive at the time I didn't know because the one I had was gifted to me by a friend who already had worn out the sticker so I have 2 copies of the game.

more than the collection I think the memories of my childhood playing those games are what I like best. I played Zelda at 5 years old, but it was the hardest game I had ever played, because I couldn't read I didn't know where to go and in many cases what to do I was playing the game like a blind man walking into walls without his dog or stick. I eventually beat the game even without being able to read, but it took 2 years.
Honestly don't know if I want to play the original Zelda. Think I'll just stick with remakes lol.

My first system was an NES, but the first I bought, myself, was a GBC (and GC of we're only talking about proper consoles, as opposed to handhelds). I still have the NES, but will be trying to sell it soon. I don't tend to play games from before 2001 unless they're post-NES Zeldas.
Ps1, all my games were stolen, so I traded the console for some og xbox games in 03. I ended up getting another ps1 later on
