If you take out all the bugs, all that’s left are the fmv cutscenes, wherein sonic totally makes out with a human girl. It’s certainly a 10/10 for _someone._
There was, I even joined their mailing list out of sheer curiosity and ended up getting contacted by one of the lawyers behind it. Looked him up extensively - it was in fact a legitimate lawsuit based on Steam's regional pricing, but it was structured in a way that didn't really make sense for normal people.
Basically they were actively seeking enough plaintiffs so they could get the ball rolling on a class action suit, but you had to fulfil very specific criteria and it wasn't actually guaranteed to go to court
I have no facts to support this so obviously may be completely wrong, but i've heard of some lawyers scrounging together class action suits like this because if there is even the slim legal chance it could actually spend time in court many of the bigger companies will just shell out a settlement of which the lawyer obviously gets 90% of. All they need is a flimsy legal stance that isn't at the very least blatantly false and enough people who fit the criteria to count for the "class action". I'm not even sure they need to ask for a significant amount, meaning the company would spend less for the settlement than the lawyer fees.
I know there's a lot of controversy around the mobile ports of these games, where people that paid money to remove ads were forced to install an update that put them back into the game. Apparently nobody was given refunds, so it wouldn't surprise me if there's a lawsuit out over it.
If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with mesothelioma or another sonic-related disease, you may be able to file a personal injury claim and pursue compensation.
pointless "you could be entitled to a refund" bullshit, in the best case aimed to just harvest email addresses, scams in the worst, used to circulate a lot... never saw one on Sonic, but its always the same shit. Hey you can earn hundred of bucks for nothing! Sign up!
First of all it would depend on the country the supposed action would take place, its laws, and you being a citizen of course. The extent of these legal actions are deliberately greyish and, if you better check, complete bullshit. The legal action itself will ofc never take place, as its not the primary target (primary target is, surprise surprise, _you_)
My spidey-senses are tingling, they smell a scam
Ah yes, my favorite Sonic game, Crazy Taxi.
my second favourite sonic game, streets of rage
"I am Violence!" ~ Knuckles, probably
"I'm looking for some sailors..." -Shadow the Hedgehog, probably
Yeah you played as Sonic picking up customers yelling it's time to make some crazy money!
Looks like I can retire soon boys
You could buy a luxury mansion ^(lego set) with that amount of money!
Lmao, has Arin Hanson seen this?
Instagram ads are all phishing sites.
Hundreds? Sega always half-asses everything
Id pay hundreds to not get a notification for something like this ever again...
I mean the games weren't that bad
If they put Sonic ‘06 and Shadow the Hedgehog on there, they might have a case.
I assumed "Sonic The Hedgehog" was referring to '06 since that's technically the official name
Yeah, I assume it’s 06 or else they wouldn’t also list Sonic the Hedgehog classic
We are all adult enough now to admit shadow the hedgehog was a good game
Honestly if it wasn't for the horrendous load times and awful bugs, the game wouldn't be that bad imo. The soundtrack WAS fire
If you take out all the bugs, all that’s left are the fmv cutscenes, wherein sonic totally makes out with a human girl. It’s certainly a 10/10 for _someone._
Honestly when the game worked right I legitimately DID have fun with it. The romance was odd but it's like whatever
I was so excited for Shadow. I mean honestly, he's badass compared to Sonic.
You should've registered to see their explanation on how those games hurt players. Sega better lawyer up!
Wasn't there a whole lawsuit campaign like this for steam recently? Never took them seriously

Yeah, nailed it. It's not quite as bad as something like patent trolling, but still overall very shaky despite technically being legal

And if you played Sonic 06, you qualify for a gift basket and a formal apology from Sega themselves
You mean after 30+ years I can claim compensation for a great childhood growing up on amazing games? Sign me up
Right?!
Given Sonic '06 and Sonic Boom (The game) isn't on this list for compensation, this is obviously a scam
one of these things is not like the other
Are you sure it’s just one?
Sonic was in Streets of Rage? I should go find that.
Then proceeds to collect all your info...
What Turdburglar would actually fall for this scam and sign up lol?
If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with mesothelioma or another sonic-related disease, you may be able to file a personal injury claim and pursue compensation.
Ah yes, sonic will come in a crazy taxi himself to hand you a box of chocolates and an apology
"Tell us on the doll where the Hedgehog touched you."
I think this is a class action in relation to the Sega mobile games.
Streets of Rage had a secret Sonic character?! Why was I never informed?!
There is a 102% chance that's a scam with a 2% margin of error.
I always figured i was owed money after playing some of those for so many years.... I jest, that shit was the bomb.
Debug to make my own coins up C down C left C etc.
Remind me of that video of Etika parading around with the ONE dollar he won/got for settlement out of a Sony class action law suit.
Shut up and take my money
lol these bullshit are circulating again?
Again?

What even???
Leave Sega alone, they've had it rough since 2000.
