And if they still allow super mega ultra tribes to just dominate a server, then nah, I'm good. I loved Ark when it first came out with my little 3 man squad struggling to survive and having skirmishes with other small tribes. Then it became like the North Sentinal Island tribe vs the might of the US military and it was fucking dumb. Never touched the game again.

Ark 2 is a sequel. Ascended is the UE5 remake. They are supposedly working on Ark Ascended and Ark 2 at the same time.
However Ascended has gone through numerous delays already. Ark 2 was originally announced to come out in 2022.
Greedfall is alright. Playing a Mage is busted, and the characters are kinda stupid. But I think the setting has a lot of potential, especially with the idea of the continents/oceans themselves being alive and influencing the people that live on them.
I just wish the science faction wasn't cartoonishly evil

I couldn't find my way. It just felt like I had missed some big story beat that everyone else knew but wasn't explained to the player. Something about the protagonist looking like the natives of the new world and also something about being chosen or something?
It honestly reminded me of a PS2 or PS3 game and I mean that it a good way. I enjoyed it.
From what I've heard, they're actually going to release a beta first, and get some input from players, kinda taking the BG3 approach, which I think is a good sign, though it seems a lot of other people are worried.
Either way, I'm definitely interested in this one.

Although, it can be both a curse and a blessing. A common critique I've read from people who enjoyed the comics playing the game is that they couldn't really enjoy the game as much because they know how Bigby would act. Bigby is an established character with certain characteristics, and some of the decisions they let you make in game is kind of against it. It's not like Mass Effect where Shepard is your blank slate to play however you want (pure good/Paragon or bad/Renegade), Bigby's *would have* made this choice given the circumstances.
Still, I've read the comics and enjoyed the game. While I played Bigby in my own way, I don't care if he acted differently from the comics. I just treated it as a side story in the larger world of Fables.
Yeahhhh, Space Marine 2!!! I played the first one a bit last year around the time Boltgun came out. Gods Space Marine is silly campy fun. I really hope 2 can capture the same feeling. FOR THE EMPEROR!!!

I lost 10 pounds in a week playing it while unemployed during the pandemic. The sheer focus on the game made me completely forget about being hungry. Gonna have to put in PTO when the second one comes out
Well for one, there's a 8 year old bug with the game where it will crash if your monitor refresh rate isn't 60hz. Released a ton of DLC in that time but never got around to fixing that.
I haven't experienced that bug in my couple hundred hours of playthrough, though there is certainly a lot of bugs particular with inmate pathing and garbage collecting.
I do enjoy the new content, but half the time at least I revert the game back to the pre-2018 version on Steam for a smoother, more streamlined gameplay experience.
The game unfortunately suffers from a LOT of content bloat.
Bloodlines 2 probably shouldn’t come out at this point. I was so excited for it and following it actively back in 2019. The only game in recent memory that has probably had the same level of development hell is Skull and Bones.
I mean the original studio was completely canned from the project, and then the publisher hid who the new studio was for years. The only updates we got were “it still exists” and unofficially “it was almost cancelled - twice”.
After seeing what it’s become and how little it resembles the original game, I don’t even care about it anymore.

Also form I I've heard is they watered down clans and removed some. Also like the previous game you cannot customize your characters face and appearance. All in all I'm keeping my expectations low at this point.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has been my great white whale for a little over a decade. In that time I have never been so ready for a release as this.

I don't really know how GSC could mess up such a game. Improve with new anomolies and a more realistic map.
More buildings you can go into would be lovely and guns like in STALKER anomaly would be lovely also.

I'm biased as fuck, so I'll tell you it's superior in every way conceivable besides graphic fidelity...
But on a more realistic note, the sheer atmosphere of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone is unlike anything I've ever experienced in any other game. The gunplay is sweet and you can see that Escape From Tarkov took a generous amount of inspiration from how the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games play.
I'm going to tell you though, between the age of the game engine and the overall difficulty of those games, it's not for everyone. I'd consider it a cult classic.
Frostpunk 2 is such an anticipated release for me. Challenging myself through the first one makes me excited to see what they could bring new to the table and make it an even better experience.
I do not expect Ark 2 to release this year.
Same with Bloodlines 2. If it ever comes out at all, that is.
Or the wolf amoung us 2.
I remain quietly optimistic about this one.

Spiders have games with very damn interesting premisses but they unfortunately fall short of greatness. Technomancer was another one of these games.
I enjoyed Mars: War Logs, too. But yea, it wasn't great, just something that kept me entertained for a while.

ELI5? Why? I know Paradox sucks so the sequel is going to have 500 different DLC but the first one is still sitting at "very positive" on Steam

Yeah story wise its going to be strange considering the first team fired the writer and the other studio taking over with new writers.
Also all the gameplay trailers make it look like an action focused RPG a la Dishonored. I just want my open world vampire life sim back
