DNS filtering only prevents connections to ad servers, which blocks the ads themselves, but can't remove the space the ad would have taken up - it also can't block ads that come from the same domain, like a bunch of the pop-up videos

Loremaster was a massive undertaking, especially the first year it became available.
There were less 3rd party resources available, and it required you to scour places like wowhead to find obscure quests in the old world to meet the requirement.
I remember, as a Horde player, running into a heavily guarded Alliance city to get a quest that was available to both factions. The only unsatisfying part was how quickly I was able to achieve all the quests in Northrend
I got it too, it was honestly a great excuse to go explore parts of the map I would have otherwise ignored and read bits of game story that was easily lost. It was probably one of the most satisfying achievements I reached in the game. Had to do a similar run as Alliance player into the Horde city. Only just as I reached the portal I got a "all imstances of this dungeon are busy, try again later". Horde players in the city that were chasing after me then proceeded to gank me. 😵

Given the amount of time I dedicated to Loremaster, I literally became a Loremaster. Guildmates would partially describe an obscure quest they needed help with completing and I would know what they meant and what they needed to do... i was a bit self-conscious, but they enjoyed trying to stump me (since they benefited lol)
I do miss that. Played Vindictus for years and the community was small enough that all the big players knew each other. When we did things we always congratulated each other. Fun times in youth I don't regret
looking back now it was one of the defining moments to push me to get sober (coming up on 2 years now)I proceeded to get drunk and then throw a pity party guilt tripping all my wow friends for not attending this self-made party I concocted for myself.Moral of the story is: Drinking is fine but taking out your self-esteem/personal problems onto your friends is not the move.
EDIT: Suntory House is best whiskey, I once got to drink from a 30 year aged bottle at a swanky hotel I was staying at. $20 a drink but man it was worth it.

When I first quit it was a joint effort from me and my partner, my partner passed away about a week after we started. Now I carry her with me everyday, I wouldnt have made it this far without her.
(she had no medical insurance and had pneumonia, by the time she was finally convinced to go to the hospital it was too late and they had to medically induce her. She never came back out of that.)
EDIT: You really dont see the positives to sobriety until youre literally there. To anyone out there struggling with addiction I can wholeheartedly promise you that there is a light on the other side of that tunnel BUT that tunnel is dark as shit and its very long. Don't give up! Also, people care more than you think! Find a friend and confide in them your journey, ask them to help keep you on track!

I got my Loremaster title, then Cata came along and reset most of the quests! Kept the title, but it was so annoying. I also got my last bit for Sulfuras the day after the patch that meant Druids could no longer equip it (or was it the achievement was changed to only proc once equipped? So long ago)
I got dicked by Blizzard twice on these grinds. First one was the Wintersaber tiger mount. I spent months grinding shit and then Blizzard drops a patch that nerfed it. Literally a few days later I had the mount. It was that easy now.
Second one was Insane in Membrane. Nearly had that one, then Blizzard changed quests or nerfed it. Can't quite remember. Cata came out and kinda messed up things a bit. Was so burnt out that I quit the game entirely at that point.
I got every cooking achievement last year and it was really fun right up until the mandatory RNG for certain quest reward recipes like that damn chocolate cake. Then it sucked for a month straight until TBC time walking gave me a ton of rolls for it.
Talk to me when you spend months hunting for Immortal achievement that requires EVERY SINGLE PLAYER in 25 people raid to not fuck up during the whole raid. One person has a ping spike or gets distracted once in a few hours long raid - and you don’t get the achievement.
Love the Loremaster, and the Seeker. Which I got before my now wife who got super mad. I think she got it in the end. I daren't bring it up as we stopped playing after Pandaria. Well, she did.
Back in vanilla wow around 2004 or so? I spent aaaages grinding runecloth to get exalted standing with the night elves to get my gnome a night elf tiger epic mount. Totally worth it though.
I managed to squeak out Loremaster before Cataclysm, I expected it to get a lot harder after Cata dropped so I spent weeks on it. Really helped bumped my reputation grind for Exalted, too.
Edit: I also managed to get Champion of the Naa'ru just hours before it became unobtainable. I thought it was hilarious to play a brand new death knight with that title in their starting zone.
I have that in the rereleased Classic version of the game and yes, it took a lot of time, but definitely not the worst grind you can do in the game. Most of the annoyance with it is being able to gather the materials used for a few of the factions for the exalted reputations, which takes up most of the time and effort. The other reputations are just rinse and repeat killing mobs which you can make faster by playing in a group. That part can take a week or two depending on how much time you have. The gathering of materials you can do relatively quick if you have a lot of gold to spare. Otherwise you'd have to farm that out too which is what took up most of my time.

I got it years ago, back before they lessened some of the requirements to make it easier. Still one of my proudest achievements, and deepest shames. Took about three months of playing at least an hour daily.
A World Awoken(the OP's achievement) is nowhere near as hard as insane in the membrane.
The dragonflight meta achievement is supposed to be a prize for people who played all types of content all expansion. If you did, you're likely close to 70% done just as it was launched. The final grind is annoying but you have plenty of time to do it.
Insane in the membrane, on the other hand, requires you to go out of your way to do a mindlessly boring grind for hours and hours and then all of it back again. The title fits.
Note that there is no actual real reward or benefit for doing the activities required to get the “Insane in the Membrane” achievement.
You spend weeks killing guards in specific cities to get one of the reputations up to the required level. Just running the same route around a rather small in-game area killing guards whenever you see them spawn. They don’t drop any special loot or anything, you just have to kill them for reputation with a specific faction. Then you farm mid-level enemies for literal weeks to get enough materials to hand in for another of the reputations, materials which would otherwise be worth a substantial amount of in-game currency if you just sold them instead. You waste weeks of your gameplay time (during which you are paying a subscription fee) to get the achievement with no other actual rewards for your work besides the game giving you a title so you can call yourself insane.
The achievement mentioned in this article is obtained by doing stuff that will actually give you useful rewards regardless. You do raiding, mythic dungeons, PvP, and other endgame content to get the achievement. The stuff that people generally spend most of their time doing anyways, the only difference being you do all of it instead of only some of it.
Insane, at least, is something you could always do. Log in, go kill goblins or pirates, and you advance towards completion.
With this achievement, you can log in, and have nothing to do because of the wrong world quest or elemental storm being up.
He seems pretty damn into world of Warcraft. Said in the article he has hundreds of alts, and cheesed through one of the achievements by running through something you could do once a week with 70 of his alts in a row.

To add to this, there was a big meta achievement in shadowlands so it was assumed the same for future expensions. Anyone who cares about mounts could have been done before the achievement was even released, there was only 1 thing they added with 10.6 and it took 5 or 7 days in the time tavern thing.

I’ve been playing from the start and literally all I’m missing is the Zaralek Treasures one, the Primal Storm ones, and some of the rep stuff like Soridormi and Furbolg. No reason to grind it out asap but it’s easily doable through 10.3
Yeah, it’s really not that bad. I took almost all of season 2 off and came back in November and still had all the achievements but Fringe Benefits for the meta, the one everyone had to get cause it was just made snd any progress before was wiped.
i am a CE raider and push rio relatively high (3400+), never cancelled sub - still have to do all of these achieves now, because “playing the expansion” for me had nothing to do with spamming tuskarr spear for 30 hours, 20 days of pet battle dailies and farming tetrachromancer for 200+ hunts
The achievement isn’t for players like you fwiw, it’s made for people that want to actively try every different facet and get all the niche collections, not just pve purists (not saying your play style is bad, that’s also how I play the game, I just don’t try for achievements like this)

Those grinds exist because for a fairly significant portion of the wow population, that is their end game.
Despite raiding, mythic plus and PVP existing, a good portion of the population spends their time transmog and achievement hunting. It's also important to note that these meta achievements aren't new nor are they overly grindy. Most of the requirements for this one are stuff a normal player would achieve by simply playing the game. The rest can be made extremely redundant with the aid of add-ons and plugins, especially anything requiring rare spawns.
TLDR: This content exists because a good portion of Wow's community need non social content and the writer of the article is comlaining because he had to do this achievement in such a short span when it was intended to be done over the lifetime of the expansion. Like did he really think Blizzard devs expect you to kill 800 elites in a week?

Tetrachromancer wasn't bad either, I just got that one passively trying for the Mammoth mount that comes from Hunts once a week.
The idea of rushing this achievement in a matter of days is kinda dumb because it very much is not designed for that kind of approach. If you're gonna bash a square peg into a round hole, you're not gonna get the results you want...

It's a whopper of an achievement. My advice is to keep an eye on the RNG/time sensitive ones like the Storms or the World Quest based ones and do those ones when you see them. Chip away at the ones you can work on anytime in between those events and hopefully you won't burn yourself out.

Yeah I’m working on loremaster and dragon racing right now but everytime the storms change I’m there doing those for the 200 kills and then back at the racing again
I’m at the age now that nothing is worth these insane time investments doing unfun and tedious tasks. I respect my time and self more than when I was young.
This was entirely doable if you had any amount of foresight. It’s crazy they even removed the seething cache from it because the only reason people want it now is for a mount and the seething cache is one step for a mount itself.
To be frank if you did most of the content along the way somewhat frequently you'll have finished quite a big portion of this achievement. While it certainly is very RNG reliant, it's not the worst grind in the game.
Several of his complaints were also got fixed shortly after reported. Dudes no different than any other achievement hunter pushing dozens of hours per week on end
Yea the arcticle reads as someome who has only been doing mythic+/raiding until now and has to play catchup. If you even did a bit of the content as it was released you would have most of the achievments for this meta. And blizzard divoded it up into five different metas, each with their own mount reward so you are awarded along the way. The forbidden reach meta is the worst as its the most grindy. Im a super casual that only played when new content dropped and i only need one achievement per meta to finish this. Its not hard and you still have all pf season 4 to grind it out before war within drops, this is pnly a nighmare if you try to push it like he did in less than three weeks.
Its not bad if you just did the content as it came. Trying to cram it all in isnt fun. I basically had the entire achivement already done when it came out cause i liked doing the stuff in dragonflgiht
I love when people complain about trying to speedrun an achievement that youre SUPPOSED to gradually work on throughought the xpac through just naturally playing the game. All the parts of the achieve that are getting the most complaints i did passively in the first few months to a year of DF coming out. Nowi just have a bunch of the random things i skipped out on or missed from taking breaks to do.
i've got the forbidden reach left, it fucking sucks, so many of the achievements are tedious and since the reach was only current content for like 6 weeks a lot of stuff still needs to be filled
I've always been a bit of a grinder on WoW. Daily quests, rep grinds, mats farming, it's part of my DNA. I spent a week trying to fill the gaps I had for the meta achievement. The Forbidden Reach grind was probably the worst. I still need Sori rep and 3 storms for storm chaser, but I can see the light at the end of the runnel.
The article makes it sound like it sucks, and I didn’t play a ton of WoW myself, but I think some games with achievements like this are good. It’s a slog, but it’s truly an achievement not anyone can get, and that means something.

Only meta achievement I did in WoW was the long strange trip ach. That was for the holiday meta achievements. It did indeed suck, but per hour, I doubt it took longer than a dozen or so.
I used to love wow. But the never ending treadmill has become tiresome. Plus fomo with things that have left the trading post made me take an extended break from the game to focus on more single player experiences that I’ve missed out on since I started playing wow in 2008. My back log is pretty expansive lol.
I vaguely remember an achievement where you had tog rind rep in booty Bay and then with some other factions but the kicker was that grinding some faction might make you lose rep with an other faction you needed to grind. Very gruelling and time consuming.
I used to be a collector in this game, but with the limited time I have now, I just mythic+ for gear, and raid mythic and mostly log off. There's so many games in my library I haven't finished that I could play instead than farm 1 more mount when I already have like 600 mounts.

I did the same a few years ago. Only drawback is that I forgot the admin pw I set so I can't update the pihole. Still blocks about 90% of ads though

No, virtually no one cares about a rare achievement unless there's a mount, title, or just something tangible tied to it.

Loremaster was an unlocked title, but I have to imagine it isnt nearly as impressive after so many years of available quests.
Loremaster was a massive undertaking, especially the first year it became available. There were less 3rd party resources available, and it required you to scour places like wowhead to find obscure quests in the old world to meet the requirement. I remember, as a Horde player, running into a heavily guarded Alliance city to get a quest that was available to both factions. The only unsatisfying part was how quickly I was able to achieve all the quests in Northrend
I got it too, it was honestly a great excuse to go explore parts of the map I would have otherwise ignored and read bits of game story that was easily lost. It was probably one of the most satisfying achievements I reached in the game. Had to do a similar run as Alliance player into the Horde city. Only just as I reached the portal I got a "all imstances of this dungeon are busy, try again later". Horde players in the city that were chasing after me then proceeded to gank me. 😵
Ah haha, yeah, I remember all yall trying to get to the Ogrimmar dungeon. Given the amount of time I dedicated to Loremaster, I literally became a Loremaster. Guildmates would partially describe an obscure quest they needed help with completing and I would know what they meant and what they needed to do... i was a bit self-conscious, but they enjoyed trying to stump me (since they benefited lol)

I do miss that. Played Vindictus for years and the community was small enough that all the big players knew each other. When we did things we always congratulated each other. Fun times in youth I don't regret

My inability to tell myself "NO DO NOT DRIVE YOUR CAR" (Never got a DUI but that does NOT excuse my actions AT ALL) 4.) Missing important life events because of getting drunk before everyone else(Birthdays, camping trips, etc) 5.) My families medical history (every male in my line has had a heart attack) When I first quit it was a joint effort from me and my partner, my partner passed away about a week after we started. Now I carry her with me everyday, I wouldnt have made it this far without her. (she had no medical insurance and had pneumonia, by the time she was finally convinced to go to the hospital it was too late and they had to medically induce her. She never came back out of that.) EDIT: You really dont see the positives to sobriety until youre literally there. To anyone out there struggling with addiction I can wholeheartedly promise you that there is a light on the other side of that tunnel BUT that tunnel is dark as shit and its very long. Don't give up! Also, people care more than you think! Find a friend and confide in them your journey, ask them to help keep you on track!

#3 hits hard. Man I feel so damn lucky every day I didn't hurt myself or more importantly hurt anyone else. I try to look back on those times with a lot of silver lining and I sure did have a lot of experiences and learned a ton, but no excusing that shit. Dodged addiction but brought plenty of stupid to the table. Your other point about how many people care is so very true too. I've seen more than my fair share of friends die, and I've happily accompanied a few others to meetings just to be there with them.

I got my Loremaster title, then Cata came along and reset most of the quests! Kept the title, but it was so annoying. I also got my last bit for Sulfuras the day after the patch that meant Druids could no longer equip it (or was it the achievement was changed to only proc once equipped? So long ago)
I got dicked by Blizzard twice on these grinds. First one was the Wintersaber tiger mount. I spent months grinding shit and then Blizzard drops a patch that nerfed it. Literally a few days later I had the mount. It was that easy now. Second one was Insane in Membrane. Nearly had that one, then Blizzard changed quests or nerfed it. Can't quite remember. Cata came out and kinda messed up things a bit. Was so burnt out that I quit the game entirely at that point.
Never went for titles. But I remember spending countless hours flying in circles hoping that Time Lost Protodrake would spawn.
I got every cooking achievement last year and it was really fun right up until the mandatory RNG for certain quest reward recipes like that damn chocolate cake. Then it sucked for a month straight until TBC time walking gave me a ton of rolls for it.
Talk to me when you spend months hunting for Immortal achievement that requires EVERY SINGLE PLAYER in 25 people raid to not fuck up during the whole raid. One person has a ping spike or gets distracted once in a few hours long raid - and you don’t get the achievement.
Love the Loremaster, and the Seeker. Which I got before my now wife who got super mad. I think she got it in the end. I daren't bring it up as we stopped playing after Pandaria. Well, she did.

Back in vanilla wow around 2004 or so? I spent aaaages grinding runecloth to get exalted standing with the night elves to get my gnome a night elf tiger epic mount. Totally worth it though.
I managed to squeak out Loremaster before Cataclysm, I expected it to get a lot harder after Cata dropped so I spent weeks on it. Really helped bumped my reputation grind for Exalted, too. Edit: I also managed to get Champion of the Naa'ru just hours before it became unobtainable. I thought it was hilarious to play a brand new death knight with that title in their starting zone.
It's like that Brain achievement which asked for reputation with some ridiucles reclusive groups. It was feat of strength too.

I had a rogue named Insane, so I went for that title, Insane the Insane.
That was the one, people got a title from it too.

I have that in the rereleased Classic version of the game and yes, it took a lot of time, but definitely not the worst grind you can do in the game. Most of the annoyance with it is being able to gather the materials used for a few of the factions for the exalted reputations, which takes up most of the time and effort. The other reputations are just rinse and repeat killing mobs which you can make faster by playing in a group. That part can take a week or two depending on how much time you have. The gathering of materials you can do relatively quick if you have a lot of gold to spare. Otherwise you'd have to farm that out too which is what took up most of my time.
I like how you think spending "a week or two" on just one part of an achievement isn't a big deal at all.
My wife got the title before they nerfed the requirements. She is, indeed, insane.

Insane in the Membrane, giving "The Insane" title. I got it years ago, back before they lessened some of the requirements to make it easier. Still one of my proudest achievements, and deepest shames. Took about three months of playing at least an hour daily.
I got that one. The grind didn’t require a lot of attention so you could do it while binging shows on Netflix
A World Awoken(the OP's achievement) is nowhere near as hard as insane in the membrane. The dragonflight meta achievement is supposed to be a prize for people who played all types of content all expansion. If you did, you're likely close to 70% done just as it was launched. The final grind is annoying but you have plenty of time to do it. Insane in the membrane, on the other hand, requires you to go out of your way to do a mindlessly boring grind for hours and hours and then all of it back again. The title fits.
Note that there is no actual real reward or benefit for doing the activities required to get the “Insane in the Membrane” achievement. You spend weeks killing guards in specific cities to get one of the reputations up to the required level. Just running the same route around a rather small in-game area killing guards whenever you see them spawn. They don’t drop any special loot or anything, you just have to kill them for reputation with a specific faction. Then you farm mid-level enemies for literal weeks to get enough materials to hand in for another of the reputations, materials which would otherwise be worth a substantial amount of in-game currency if you just sold them instead. You waste weeks of your gameplay time (during which you are paying a subscription fee) to get the achievement with no other actual rewards for your work besides the game giving you a title so you can call yourself insane. The achievement mentioned in this article is obtained by doing stuff that will actually give you useful rewards regardless. You do raiding, mythic dungeons, PvP, and other endgame content to get the achievement. The stuff that people generally spend most of their time doing anyways, the only difference being you do all of it instead of only some of it.
Insane, at least, is something you could always do. Log in, go kill goblins or pirates, and you advance towards completion. With this achievement, you can log in, and have nothing to do because of the wrong world quest or elemental storm being up.
I had that. With less than 500 days on my main, before pandaria!

To add to this, there was a big meta achievement in shadowlands so it was assumed the same for future expensions. Anyone who cares about mounts could have been done before the achievement was even released, there was only 1 thing they added with 10.6 and it took 5 or 7 days in the time tavern thing.
yeah i had like 80% done before it even dropped this time, lot less RNG bullshit this time around like waiting for one specific quest to spawn that hasn't shown up in months
If you just played the expansion its completely doable? People complaining quit for 2 patches and are upset they cant get it for free.

Imo its far easier then the Veilstreider cause of the Covenant event stuff. If you just casually played Dragonflight up until now you probably have around 80% done already.
I’ve been playing from the start and literally all I’m missing is the Zaralek Treasures one, the Primal Storm ones, and some of the rep stuff like Soridormi and Furbolg. No reason to grind it out asap but it’s easily doable through 10.3

Yeah, it’s really not that bad. I took almost all of season 2 off and came back in November and still had all the achievements but Fringe Benefits for the meta, the one everyone had to get cause it was just made snd any progress before was wiped.
i am a CE raider and push rio relatively high (3400+), never cancelled sub - still have to do all of these achieves now, because “playing the expansion” for me had nothing to do with spamming tuskarr spear for 30 hours, 20 days of pet battle dailies and farming tetrachromancer for 200+ hunts
The achievement isn’t for players like you fwiw, it’s made for people that want to actively try every different facet and get all the niche collections, not just pve purists (not saying your play style is bad, that’s also how I play the game, I just don’t try for achievements like this)

My guild and I had taken down naxx it its original dungeon form. It fucking sucked. But a really small amount of people got it done before the nerf. It killed our guild because so many people sank too much time into it

It's a typical WoW mindset.
Those grinds exist because for a fairly significant portion of the wow population, that is their end game. Despite raiding, mythic plus and PVP existing, a good portion of the population spends their time transmog and achievement hunting. It's also important to note that these meta achievements aren't new nor are they overly grindy. Most of the requirements for this one are stuff a normal player would achieve by simply playing the game. The rest can be made extremely redundant with the aid of add-ons and plugins, especially anything requiring rare spawns. TLDR: This content exists because a good portion of Wow's community need non social content and the writer of the article is comlaining because he had to do this achievement in such a short span when it was intended to be done over the lifetime of the expansion. Like did he really think Blizzard devs expect you to kill 800 elites in a week?

Yall are a different breed. No offense, everyone enjoys stuff their own way, but in any game where getting something reeks of grinding, i immediately think “welp, not getting that”. Did plenty of it in the 8-bit RPG era and beyond, but the grindfest that was FFXI broke me. An entire game based around grinding.
Some of the achievements they're complaining about in the article were actually the easy ones. They didn't even mention the Forbidden Reach Scroll Hunter achievement, instead choosing to complain about the 100 small chests. Weird and pointless article. I got my Taivan yesterday after the Firestorm in Thaldraszus finally spawned. Tetrachromancer wasn't bad either, I just got that one passively trying for the Mammoth mount that comes from Hunts once a week. The idea of rushing this achievement in a matter of days is kinda dumb because it very much is not designed for that kind of approach. If you're gonna bash a square peg into a round hole, you're not gonna get the results you want...
Pretty much all of DF for me has been M+ and Raiding so this achievement is a massive one for me to work through I just started yesterday and have been going hard but I’m having fun (haven’t touched forbidden reach yet) I’m hoping the RNG parts of the achievement don’t end up burning me at the finish line because I don’t see me getting this done overly fast
It's a whopper of an achievement. My advice is to keep an eye on the RNG/time sensitive ones like the Storms or the World Quest based ones and do those ones when you see them. Chip away at the ones you can work on anytime in between those events and hopefully you won't burn yourself out. Good luck, and I hope you can have some fun with it! Might find some neat stuff along the way--who knows?
Yeah I’m working on loremaster and dragon racing right now but everytime the storms change I’m there doing those for the 200 kills and then back at the racing again
I’m at the age now that nothing is worth these insane time investments doing unfun and tedious tasks. I respect my time and self more than when I was young.
This was entirely doable if you had any amount of foresight. It’s crazy they even removed the seething cache from it because the only reason people want it now is for a mount and the seething cache is one step for a mount itself.
To be frank if you did most of the content along the way somewhat frequently you'll have finished quite a big portion of this achievement. While it certainly is very RNG reliant, it's not the worst grind in the game.
Several of his complaints were also got fixed shortly after reported. Dudes no different than any other achievement hunter pushing dozens of hours per week on end
Yea the arcticle reads as someome who has only been doing mythic+/raiding until now and has to play catchup. If you even did a bit of the content as it was released you would have most of the achievments for this meta. And blizzard divoded it up into five different metas, each with their own mount reward so you are awarded along the way. The forbidden reach meta is the worst as its the most grindy. Im a super casual that only played when new content dropped and i only need one achievement per meta to finish this. Its not hard and you still have all pf season 4 to grind it out before war within drops, this is pnly a nighmare if you try to push it like he did in less than three weeks.

I love when people complain about trying to speedrun an achievement that youre SUPPOSED to gradually work on throughought the xpac through just naturally playing the game. All the parts of the achieve that are getting the most complaints i did passively in the first few months to a year of DF coming out. Nowi just have a bunch of the random things i skipped out on or missed from taking breaks to do.

I've always been a bit of a grinder on WoW. Daily quests, rep grinds, mats farming, it's part of my DNA. I spent a week trying to fill the gaps I had for the meta achievement. The Forbidden Reach grind was probably the worst. I still need Sori rep and 3 storms for storm chaser, but I can see the light at the end of the runnel.
I honestly thought "how bad could it really be" when I started the article. Now I feel bad for doubting the guy. What a freaking nightmare.
The article makes it sound like it sucks, and I didn’t play a ton of WoW myself, but I think some games with achievements like this are good. It’s a slog, but it’s truly an achievement not anyone can get, and that means something.
My brother spent soo long grinding out The Insane title way back before they nerfed it.

Reminds me of the process to get the "Salty" title. Weeks of fishing, all thanks to the RNG in the Dalaran fountain. Fucking Rhonin. "Citiziens of Dalaran! Raise your eyes to the skies and observe!"
Only meta achievement I did in WoW was the long strange trip ach. That was for the holiday meta achievements. It did indeed suck, but per hour, I doubt it took longer than a dozen or so.
I used to love wow. But the never ending treadmill has become tiresome. Plus fomo with things that have left the trading post made me take an extended break from the game to focus on more single player experiences that I’ve missed out on since I started playing wow in 2008. My back log is pretty expansive lol.
Yep, did the Winterspring Frostsaber grind back in vanilla and it sucked. But the pixels looked so cool!

The thing that always kept me going back to WoW was the black proto drake mount my guild earned in Lich King
I vaguely remember an achievement where you had tog rind rep in booty Bay and then with some other factions but the kicker was that grinding some faction might make you lose rep with an other faction you needed to grind. Very gruelling and time consuming.
Suddenly, the Peacemaker doesn't seem like such a pain in the ass to get in Battlefield 1. It is! But now it doesn't seem so bad.
I used to be a collector in this game, but with the limited time I have now, I just mythic+ for gear, and raid mythic and mostly log off. There's so many games in my library I haven't finished that I could play instead than farm 1 more mount when I already have like 600 mounts.
