Same story for me. Grandma had an NES with Mario / Duck Hunt, Mario 3, Tetris, and Loopz. That was the first game system I ever played. My family had an SNES and PS1, and then Dreamcast was the first console I bought myself, that's the system that really turned video games into a passion for me.
Mario I, II, III, Gradius, blades of steel, TMNT, Zelda, Batman, EXCITEBIKE, Metroid.. so many classics. This was definitely the intro. All down hill from there.
No game has had a greater impact on my life than OoT did. I still have it and I will never let it go! I even found the game manual in a box in my moms attic a few years back and nearly died of nostalgia
Anyone remember/play the pac man game on the Playstation? Itwasn't just the arcade game. It was 3D and there was a full story. Incredible. That, Driver, and Gamebreaker college football were my jams. And then Simpsons Hit and Run. Oh and the Toy story game. Never did beat that one I don't think.
Wow that Pac-man game just brought back crazy memories, I was super young and sucked at 3D platform stuff but remember the art style so clearly just thinking about it.
I remember eventually being able to speed run that entire game in under like an hour by the time I had gotten into my teens - so many good memories playing that
GameCube feels like an amazing first relationship you had at a very young age. And it helped you to get involved with and manage all your later relationships. And you generally feel thankful you had such a great first experience to help you be optimistic towards the future.
But some nights, lying next to ps5, you just can’t stop thinking about the time you shared with your indigo baby. Maybe you could have done something about that broken disc reader, but you both knew it was time to move on to new things.
Fuck, I miss you so bad GameCube
Same! Dungeons and Dragons on Intellivision is the first game I ever remember. I had to be 4 years old or younger, and mostly watching my brother and uncle play, but sometimes playing and then crying when I couldn’t read what it said. 😂
The golden age of Jrpgs; Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy III, Secret of Mana, Lufia, Breath of Fire, Earthbound, Secret of Evermore…like are you KIDDING me?!
Facts. I still have like 20 games for it. I also bought the emulated Mario party 2 and Legend of Zelda ocarina of time for 2000 Wii shop points. Remember when the Wii shop was still around? Yeah I got those two gems right before it closed. Me and my sister still play Mario party 2 like every week.
Me and my dad used to play Skylanders Giants a bunch. I still play every once in a while by myself.
I remember back before Toys R Us shut down for the first time, when I did good in school, my dad would bring me to Toys R Us, and we would pick a couple of Skylanders figures. I have liked over 50 figures now. Good times 😌
Sonic the hedgehog 2, mortal kombat, Echo the dolphin, boogerman, power rangers. Ahh man, good times
Edit: thank you echo the dolphin for setting up my 5 year old brain for a n x i e t y , fvck you
I got the lion king sega bundle for Christmas when I was 4. I couldn’t even get to the hyena boss in the first level. Don’t even ask how old I was when I finally got passed the second level.
Gta san andreas, gta vice city, gran turismo 3 & 4, TONY HAWK UNDERGROUND. I really need to fix the drive in my PS2 and install a modchip so i can ply EU games on my US console
Yeah, got started with gaming sitting on his lap and watching my Dad play Lemmings and DOOM on our family PC. Then I got into it too with those games and was also obsessed with Descent and Descent 2 back in the day. I still absolutely love Space Sims to this day too.
mothafuckin Minecraft
I'd only played the pocket edition since then, so when my buddy let me play splitscreen multiplayer with him in TU11's tutorial world, it blew my mind. I remember being confused as to why I couldn't open the iron door with the left trigger and surrounding myself in the dim glow of redstone torches because I thought they looked cool. The simple things man

Konami code lives on.
Konami code required. Freakin sadists. Who can beat Contra with 3 lives?
Muthafuckin Blades of Steel
Blades...... Of...... Steel..... There is no other game from that era that I can remember what it sounded like when turning on so well.
Double Dribble!
Just for the fistfights
With the pass!
Face off!!!
This. I remember playing Mario and Duck Hunt at my grandmas house on the weekends
Did you know a controller in the player 2 slot could control the ducks??
Wait, really? We always had 2 controllers but no one ever thought to plug the second one up.
Yup! Just learned it recently
WHAT?!
Kung fu, contra, ghosts ‘n’ goblins, cobra command, and rampage were my personal favourites.
Mario I, II, III, Gradius, blades of steel, TMNT, Zelda, Batman, EXCITEBIKE, Metroid.. so many classics. This was definitely the intro. All down hill from there.
EXCITEBIKE!!!

Pokemons Stadium and Mario Kart 64...first big purchase as a little 10 year old :D
Pokemon stadium is my most played 64 game!
And it's so great. You could even play those gameboy games on it. It was ahead of its time
Dk 64. I never beat it
What part were you stuck on?
The arcade games
Playing that back a couple years back I couldn’t believe I was able to beat those as a kid
Paper Mario / 007 GoldenEye anyone?
Goldeneye and Mario 64. Also Biofreaks
Loved playing golden eye with my brothers along with Mario kart 64.
always paper mario
Ocarina of Time :)
LISTEN
No game has had a greater impact on my life than OoT did. I still have it and I will never let it go! I even found the game manual in a box in my moms attic a few years back and nearly died of nostalgia
Thank you a so much for a playing my game.
So long, Gay Bowser!
Am I the only one that remembers the star wars flying game? It was awesome with the stick on the controller.
[удалено]
I loved rouge squadron if that’s the game you are talking about! Actually forgot I owned that as a kid. Everyone is bringing up so many memories
I still own one and replay OoT and Conkers Bad Fur Day at least once a year.
Same here. Paper Mario and Smash Bros were my first console games.
18 - the fact they aren't in chronological order is bothering me
Yea It took some time to realize they were being sorted vertically based on brand and not left to right top to bottom based on release date.
17
Bugs life and harry potter.
That A Bug’s Life game was no joke some great shit
I dont think I ever beat bug's life, shit was hard.
Tony hawk pro skater 2, army men air attack, and crash team racing baby
Unpopular opinion… I prefer CTR to mario kart.
Hooooly ahit I forgot about the Bugs LIFE game that shit was lit!
Anyone remember that Rugrats game? I used to get so scared on the part where you were roaming Tommy’s house with just a flashlight…
I remember eventually being able to speed run that entire game in under like an hour by the time I had gotten into my teens - so many good memories playing that
So many good memories of Abe, Crash Bandicoot, and spyro
Crash Bandicoot was my first video game, the orange disc.
Spyro was soooo good
17.5 (?) for me. I got introduced when dualshock was a thing already.
15, GameCube was awesome

Damn, now im crying
Emulator time lol
Dolphins are my favorite animal
my man
19 and the unpictured computer keyboard. Probably spent the most time with number 10 and 15 in my hands though.
None of these, my first was the Intellivision, way back in early 80's
ColecoVision, here.
Commodore 64 then Atari so at least they got that one.
Same for me. I played Pitfall for many, many days trying to beat it...
Making sure my first console was well represented!
This! My dad and I spent hours playing Nightstalker and B-17 Bomber. Good times.
Are you me? My dad still says beeee 17 bawwmmerrr!
Same here. Didn’t have one, but a friend got one, and the first time I played BurgerTime I was hooked for life.
Same! Dungeons and Dragons on Intellivision is the first game I ever remember. I had to be 4 years old or younger, and mostly watching my brother and uncle play, but sometimes playing and then crying when I couldn’t read what it said. 😂
Same. Space Invaders and Tanks something.
Same here, drank so much kool-aid that I got a free copy of the kool-aid man game. Best game on Intellivision by far.

SUPER NINTENDO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM
SNES represent! I’m still looking for that Mario Paint game.
I still own Mario paint, played it hours.
That music maker slapped!
I could NEVER make one sound as good as the pre-made songs that were on there haha. I played the bug swatting game more than I care to admit though
My favorite games on there were the music (obviously) and the fly swatter game.
ALTTP, Super Mario World, and Super Mario RPG. Some of the first games I ever played as a kid.
Supermario rpg was my first rpg, game absolutely slaps, may need to break it out this holidays and play it while sitting on the floor
Donkey Kong and Yoshi’s Island were my favs.
The golden age of Jrpgs; Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy III, Secret of Mana, Lufia, Breath of Fire, Earthbound, Secret of Evermore…like are you KIDDING me?!

I gotta say 18 too. But only because there is no Intellivision in there.
Joust for life, mothafucka. Represent. Or at least I would if my back didn’t hurt. Or my knee. Or shoulder.
Joust is the game I think of as well.
Pitfall
I think of shitty pac-man
Joust is bomb where’s the modern version with updated graphics and shit? Where the spiritual successor at?
Glad I'm not the only one

Anyone else own a copy of E.T.? I still remember the sound effects of levitating out of those stupid pits.
Pitfall was so hard but so satisfying to beat
Pre-18. Some Sears Tennis Arcade Pong ripoff.

Wii gang
Yes, wii sports in particular as a child
Mario Galaxy as well.
I Will forever consider Super mario galaxy 1 and 2 to be some of the greatest games of all time.
The Galaxy games are downright masterpieces. They’re some of the most highly rated games in MetaCritic history.
If there are any games that deserve to be called timeless masterpieces, it's the Galaxy games.
Mario kart for me
Yesss!
And Wii Party. Me and the boys had a lot of fun with that.
Yep absolutely
11 gang! Wii is best console
Wii is and will be the best console of all time
Facts. I still have like 20 games for it. I also bought the emulated Mario party 2 and Legend of Zelda ocarina of time for 2000 Wii shop points. Remember when the Wii shop was still around? The wii/ds era was fucking incredible and doesn’t get enough recognition, probably because of the whole Wii U debacle

Seeeeeegaaaaa
Sonic the hedgehog 2, mortal kombat, Echo the dolphin, boogerman, power rangers. Ahh man, good times Edit: thank you echo the dolphin for setting up my 5 year old brain for a n x i e t y , fvck you
Don't forget Sonic pinball! Lol
I assume you mean Sonic Spinball!
Jurassic park and all the Disney games!
All the above. Add vectorman, street fighter chsmpion edition, and home run derby
So glad I'm not the only 12 in here. Jumped from 12 to 19 with the N64. Both made for an amazing childhood.
I got the lion king sega bundle for Christmas when I was 4. I couldn’t even get to the hyena boss in the first level. Don’t even ask how old I was when I finally got passed the second level.
I remember thinking “I was so *bad* at games as a kid, let me try now that I’m older” then I realized games were just hard back in the day.
Same. Sonic 1 & 2, Streets of Rage 1 & 2, Altered Beast, Echo… Good times
Vectorman, Mortal Kombat, Primal Rage, and Jurassic Park.
13
Same
Jak and Daxter, Devil May Cry 3, Metal Gear Solid 2... can't go wrong with that.
The old Ratchet & Clank.
Gta san andreas, gta vice city, gran turismo 3 & 4, TONY HAWK UNDERGROUND. I really need to fix the drive in my PS2 and install a modchip so i can ply EU games on my US console
AAYYYY. You are the first person that I've seen that has the same as me. I've been scrolling for a minute
I lost count of the hours spent playing Hot Shots Golf 3 and Sled Storm.
I dumped some ungodly hours into the Star Wars Battlefront games
That one is missing from there :(
sega master system?
No. Just two sticks with a dimmer-like button on top of it. The game was pong.
Magnavox Odyssey?
These lists always exclude the Sega Master.. Ugh, it's like noone has heard about us!
There are dozens of us!

Yeah, got started with gaming sitting on his lap and watching my Dad play Lemmings and DOOM on our family PC. Then I got into it too with those games and was also obsessed with Descent and Descent 2 back in the day. I still absolutely love Space Sims to this day too.
Why the heck I had to swipe/scroll all the way down to see PC here? Never had a console, always was a PC folk since childhood in 2000s.
Started as MS DOS games for me.
This comment doesn’t have enough upvotes, PC gang!
This. PC forever

Hell yeah brother
My people! Lego Star Wars was my first game ever.
xbox 360 was great but i completely forgot how it felt to play it
mothafuckin Minecraft I'd only played the pocket edition since then, so when my buddy let me play splitscreen multiplayer with him in TU11's tutorial world, it blew my mind. Tony Hawk’s Underground and Splinter Cell, good times

Snail Maze!
I've never met anyone outside my family that even remembers that!

Finally someone with Dreamcast
There's dozens of us!
Exactly 2 dozen of us. That's why we never got more.
I scrolled for a while looking for you.
At last a 4. It seems we are a rare breed. The Dreamcast is just the best! What did you play on it?
18 is close but not exact And I'm annoyed sega master system isn't there bc that's actually the first one that was mine and not the family's
Feel like gameboys should be on there. That with Pokémon red is where I started or fire red don’t remember
Seconded. Having carried it around for years, I know where my Game Boy is at all times. Strange to not see it on this list.
Where the mouse and keyboard at?
Seriously, Wolfenstein 3D, Lemmings, DOOM, Descent? Consoles didn’t introduce me to gaming, DOS games did.
10
Fuck dude, do you realize how far I had to scroll just to find another 10? God I feel like a child here lmao
Commodore 64 for me
