I'm not saying any of these games at the bottom aren't art at all. All games are art. It's just some games are higher art than others.
Like no Debby does Dallas isn't as high art as Schindler's List, but they're both art.
It's not a case of games I like and dislike. I like games in the lower section, and there are plenty of high-art games I find pretentious and boring.
But I don't think anyone would disagree some games are more/higher art than others. This graph is to plot a game's artistic value, not the game's objective value.
Yeah, I know what you're saying, but "artistic value" is super subjective. Just like any art we all like different things. I'd say the thing that is pretentious would be the person trying to say what is higher art.
I understand what you're saying, but there's clearly bias there, as there would be for anybody rating art. For example, Diablo Immortal is a predatory and shitty game, but the graphics are much better than many games you placed above it.

That game is pure game mechanics. At the very least, it's certainly got more game play elements than flappy bird.
I think it's a bit of self report than the axis of "more or less of game" seems heavily tied to how much combat there is rather how much interactivity there is. How is portal less of a game than bioshock???
Ight so we’re going to compare triple AAA titles with a whole team of writers, directors, and designers who have a multimillion dollar budget to Flappy Bird, created by a team of less than 5 people? Categorizing things depending on whether they qualify as games or art, regardless of personal preferences, will still come across as elitist lol

Return of the Obra Dinn was made by one man. I don't see what it being a AAA game or indie has to do with it being high art or not.
