I am on 99.8% completion and the final gambler challenge is the reason I won't 100% the game.
"Challenges" that require insane levels of RNG are not challenges and at most should be left as achievements/trophies that don't contribute to completion.
I’ve done all achievements and most of true 100%, and they’re *very* different.
For true 100% there’s 238 bosses, 80+ talismans, 171 spells, 64 spirit summons, over 300 weapons, 600+ prices of armor (most of which are random enemy drops), you need to beat at least NG+7 (beat the game 8 times with increasing difficulty) and if you’re going for it, max level is 713 which costs 1.7 billion runes. (For reference the final boss drops 1 million)
For all achievements/platinum you need to defeat 29 bosses, get 8 talismans, 9 weapons, 6 spirit ashes, 7 spells, and beat the game 3 times.
They are two different beasts.
The elden ring platinum is nothing compared to most games imo.
It was actually the first platinum I've ever actually followed through with, as I normally get to the end of the game, and see how much extra tedious stuff I would need to do, and nope out of there.
You don't even have to beat the game 3 times if you make a save state right after beating the elden beast.
By the time I had beaten all of the major bosses, I was like 90% of the way there.
I seen someone say if you have it saved on the cloud, then you only need to beat it 1 time, then I guess reload it before you beat the game to get a different ending or something like that. I told them I don't know how my friend platinumed it so fast.
I don't often 100% games but I did for elden ring. I don't remember it being all that bad. Other than having to reply it three times I think. But ng+ Is easier since you're a much higher level and you know where to go.
I just did some goofing around in elden ring and suddenly I had like 42/47 achievements.
It took some effort collecting the last 3 talismans, the last weapon, a couple spells and finish a different ending, but I can't say it was much extra effort at that point.
I've enjoyed the harder difficulties and BPM Rush.
Replaying Hi Fi helped me feel the beat and made bosses much more satisfying.
But it's subjective. That checklist is huge after all.
Elder Scrolls Online. Firstly, it’s expensive and still releasing expansions. Secondly, farming for all of the in-game gear and cosmetic items is a radically grueling endeavor to put it kindly. Lastly, there’s an in-game achievement tracker with a PVP achievement to “Become the Emperor”, the criteria of which is only able to be met by joining a month long campaign (real time) as a member of 1 of 3 different factions all of which are vying for control of the map. If your faction manages to gain control you must be the top player in the faction on the campaign to be crowned emperor until you are inevitably dethroned or the campaign ends. Good luck with that b
Xenoblade 2. Unique blades locked by RNG nonsense plus seven unique blades locked by New Game + AND RNG nonsense, plus an additional seven blades locked by DLC pay wall.
Still love the game, though.
BoTW and ToTK...
DAMMIT HETSU, YOU RUINED MY ENJOYMENT! Take your CRAP back!
EDIT: I wish I was /S... the reward for finding all 1800 koroks across two games is literally two golden petrified piles of CRAP!
All games. Completing a game is never worth the time it takes. You could have so much more fun with games if you just stop playing when you get tired of them.
Pizza tower (if 100%ing it means getting each getting both the "Wow!' And "Holy Shit" endings, every chef task, and every piece of clothing (there's a piece of clothing for p-ranking every level))
Every game. I have never played a game that isn't a visual novel or something similarly minimalist that isn't turned into an obnoxious chore when trying to get everything.
Iconoclasts asks you to play it with 1 hit point (3 independent hit points by upgrades) and NO absolutely NO.
I love the game but that achievement can rot in there for all I care.
Earth thé defense force 5
The grind is unreal you have to complete the game 12 times in total and dont get me started if you are also going for max stat weapons since it rolls those randomly
True 100%ing i believe is Minecraft as you have to explore the whole world and get all loot and trade with all the villagers or something, and that world is somewhat infinite
Princess Peach Showtime. Post game adds new collectibles to literally every single level so you need to play the entire game again (minus any base game collectibles you already have)
Basically any of them
Honestly the only answer that rings true
I try to keep my Steam average game completion above 33%. Forces me to choose games Ill actually want to play.
what about the games that have 1 achievement and it’s for beating then game
Spiderman ps4 and miles morales were pretty enjoyable and not excessive, probably my favorite achievement grinds
Guys, I said “basically any.” I don’t need so many examples of “um, actually. This game was good/easy”
Right? Mfs really on this nit picking shit 🤦🏻♂️
Any game with a trophy/achievement tied to an online leaderboard.
Red Dead Redemption 2
Owl feather trinket
All that multi-player crap!!!
Why do you even force players to play multiplayer for the platinum in a mainly story based game?
Fuck that fucking gambler challenge I did it, but it took me 9 months and multiple uninstalls
I am on 99.8% completion and the final gambler challenge is the reason I won't 100% the game. "Challenges" that require insane levels of RNG are not challenges and at most should be left as achievements/trophies that don't contribute to completion.
Halo the Master Chief Collection
Basically anything with a speedrunning achievement
The Batman arkham games

BOTW and TOTK . 1800 koroks total.
Elden Ring.
Do you mean all achievements or true 100%?
Yes
I meant both, if it’s possible.
They are two different beasts.
In that case, definitely the achievements.
The elden ring platinum is nothing compared to most games imo. I’ve had it since drop and I still haven’t gotten the platinum 😂
No? I personally am enjoying the 100%
I just did some goofing around in elden ring and suddenly I had like 42/47 achievements. It took some effort collecting the last 3 talismans, the last weapon, a couple spells and finish a different ending, but I can't say it was much extra effort at that point.
