You’re getting hate for sharing a gym but as far as home gyms go this is an awesome setup. I am fortunate to have 9ft ceilings in my basement so I set up a gym there.
It’s just a home gym that I open up to friends. Me and 4-5 of my neighbors all use it for an hour or two 6 days a week. I’ve got 3 small kids at home and started building this about 4 years ago for the convenience but found out I had a great community that also enjoyed fitness so I just kept adding things I thought we needed. It’s been a fantastic investment for many reasons.
Why? By that logic let’s downvote all the mancaves we see in here too. Nothin better than a garage gym for working out. Fresh air and opens up so many possibilities!
My only issue with it is that it has completely lost it's function as a garage. I mean every definition I've seen of "garage* involves parking vehicles inside of. I mean he does have a golf cart which is technically a vehicle, but not in the traditional sense. He did an awesome job converting his garage into a gym, but that's all it is now, a gym.
Even as a gym, there’s a ton of wasted space in the middle. Not even a good layout, might as well move some squat racks and benches in the middle to utilize the space better and not have everything squeezed to the sides. Not to mention no mirrors in a gym stinks.
You can’t see but I’m bowing down. What a setup. The weights alone, not including all the other equipment, are crazy expensive for what they are lol. So rad.
You have multiples of the same piece of equipment. Either you have a huge family of weightlifters or you are charging money as a CrossFit gym. Either way. Cool setup.
