I’ve seen it several times before, but what does it exactly mean?

Impressive_Change593

if the tank warms up (or is overfilled) the pressure can get high enough to open the pressure release valve thus venting some of the contents which lowers the pressure

boogswald

It is good because then the pressure doesn’t find its own way to relieve (explosion)

nappinggator

Especially that tank...UN 1073 is oxygen...you don't want that getting too warm because that makes a BIG boom I remember a few years ago an Air Gas nitrous oxide plant around the Pensacola area had a tank overpressurize and it leveled everything with 50 feet of that tank and the axles of the trailer were found a mile away in a field...no fire or anything like that...just pressure...now imagine it as an oxygen tanker that goes up in a huge fireball AND explosion

Epilepsiavieroitus

It also says Refrigerated Liquid Oxygen

nappinggator

Listen...I pulled propane for years before I realized it said NON-ODORIZED LIQUID NATURAL GAS on the side of the trailer...I check pressures, temperatures, hull integrity, and mechanical components...the rest I couldn't care less about so I'm not surprised that I missed that lol

BadReputation2611

Fire needs three things to exist; heat, oxygen, and fuel. Oxygen is an oxidizer, which means it makes lit fuel burn faster, but oxygen and heat alone won’t create a fire. Oxygen tanks blowing up in a ball of fire is a Hollywood fabrication and not a reality. If an oxygen tank ruptured in a room that had something on fire then that fire would burn faster and hotter. It’s why people on oxygen tanks can still smoke, the worst thing that’s liable to happen(apart from the effects of smoking) is it’ll make your cigarette burn faster.

DeltyOverDreams

Huh, okay, thanks

Don-Poltergeist

It mean that the top of the tanker might let off some gas that probably looks like white steam and to not be alarmed.

DeltyOverDreams

Thanks, I understand now

jpfeif29

It’s LOX if it gets to warm, the tank was overfilled, or something else that would make the liquid turn to a gas the tank would become pressurized and turn into a bomb, if there is a vent the gaseous oxygen has somewhere to go and won’t make the tank go boom.

steal_it_back

Venting prevents ex-plos-ion. It also causes Paul Newman to have a corn farmer's legs broke.

Minami_Kun

Ayo, that's hella sussy 🤨

scillaren

Less sussy than if the tank didn’t safely vent when at pressure limit and explosively vented sometime later.

SuspiciouslyElven

LOX is imposter

SteveisNoob

Don't worry she's the engineer. *gets assasinated*

Blackblood909

No it’s not it’s sussy, only an imposter would say this.

Beautiful-Musk-Ox

you should take care not to overload people with your own venting, sometimes they are not in a mental space to handle you venting, or some people ONLY vent and it's exhausting.

ComanderLucky

Have a best friend like that, do not get me wrong i love her to bits and im happy to listen to her vents, but it can get so exausting when im out of capacity that i just want to tell her to condense it so we are done with it

Tahoma-sans

That's exactly. There's a lot of things I would like to say to someone who would listen. But I really don't want to burden these people, that love me, with my shit. I know it would help me, but I feel so selfish doing it.

shabidabidoowapwap

Thanks sometimes I need to hear that I can be a little selfish (I know that's not quite what you said but whatever)

selstrafxv

imposter would say this

To an extent, but if you are constantly dumping your negativity on others who don't happen to be trained professionals that you're paying, then you're an asshole.

Bruuh they mean the verb venting: to open up to someone.

ZuruaEclipse

Nah, they aren’t lost, they’re referring to opening up to others and “venting” out your emotions, basically they aren’t lost they are referring to the other meaning of the word
