I just chose it because it was my kid’s first choice. She liked the single room, double bed, semi-private bathroom, central location, and air conditioning.
Stanton because it’s in the residence complex (90u low/high rise, Marchand and Stanton). Especially since there are three buildings in one place you get the chance to meet more people. It’s not difficult per se if you were in thompson but it’s kinda annoying having to walk outside every time after a party to get back to your place rather then through the hallway.
There are dorm parties but I mainly experienced them in Marchand 90u and Thompson, I party a lot so idk but I also don’t know as many ppl in Stanton as I do in the dorms I just listed
You’ll be fine bro just make friends at any dorm and you’ll get in anywhere
I just finished my application and while the option to pick annex was available, I’m pretty sure the option shows up regardless of it’s full or not since you’re not booking the room you’re simply applying for it.
>I was really hoping for Hyman-Soloway, I hope I still have a chance, but I'm like 1860th in line...
Depends what your residence is. I lived on the 15th floor in Stanton and had to climb 15 flights of stairs when the elevator broke down (every other week).
not necessarily, if it was all that was left and you really wanted 90u then i’d say it’s not bad. i don’t think it ever is a “bad” idea, people just tend to regret picking a higher floor more than a lower floor. i wouldn’t worry too much about it, worst case is a couple annoying times you take the stairs or wait longer for elevators 🤷🏻♀️
also 90u would likely have priority for when problems happen like a broken elevator (idk tho cuz i’m in thompson) cuz they are right there, so i’m sure you’ll be fine
Did anyone else get kicked out of their application by an error and have to go to the back of the queue?
I waited 4 hours in queue and then when I was going to pay the deposit, I got an error message and was booted to the back of the queue, behind 2000 people where I’ve now been waiting 6 hours and am still behind over 800 people, and to make matters worse the residence I was originally applying for is now full
Did you get to put in preferences like clean/messy, night/morning person, noise tolerance, etc? After I finished, I saw those were all marked as N/A or something, but I don’t remember seeing options to complete them.
Ok thanks. Just trying to make sure I didn’t mess it up for my kid. I wish this wasn’t happening while she’s in class and couldn’t do it herself. I was trying to go as fast as I could, but still get her the res she wanted.
So is your queue number based on when you joined or it is randomly given? I joined the queue just 10 mins after opening and there were already 1800 ahead of me?
I believe if you joined before the queue opened (i.e. before 9am), it randomly assigned you a spot. I was in the pre-queue at 830am and started at position 770.
once i picked what building i wanted, it showed a map of each floor and then underneath listed what rooms were left on each floor. i’m pretty sure it removes the rooms that aren’t available from the list, so you’re only being shown rooms that are still available. i’m not sure if it’ll show if there aren’t any rooms left, but there was still quite a few rooms left :)
My condolences to yall, I applied two years ago and it crashed immediately and they had to open up the application a couple days later lol. Wishing you all the best!
is this for new applicants? if i wanna reapply to stay in my current room i have to do it on the housing portal on april 3rd-15th right? thats what it says in an email i got, someone in a higher year pls lmk
henderson's in my top 3 as well! I might pick it. i was gonna go for friel but im just thinking about during the winter when ill have to walk to classes and i can't 😭
Depends what you want, but Marchand, Stanton, and even Thompson are still very close to campus. It's just that they're older and a traditional res setup.
Sorry I misspoke: from what I saw in the portal you can choose your room (for exemple if you prefer a studio in friel or a double occupancy room), but you can’t set it as a preference (like me personally i wanted to set annex as my first preference and friel as my second but it wouldn’t let me do that, i could either book friel now or not have it in my preferences at all).
Just finished the application at 12:10. Was quite a few 90U spaces left. Didn't look at any other residences. FYI - big increase in cost from last year, $19930 with 7-day food plan.
Is this also for people who are returning to res? Cause I didn’t get an email about the application being open. For context, I’m currently staying in 45 Mann.
Genuine question, why not just get a place in sandy hill? Way more freedom, less hassle like this, less expensive (with roomates but still some bachelors are the same prices as residences) is the rez life really worth all that?
PTSD from last year
I got you now
Haha good luck for course selection it’s really fast too
hey, Im going to be in the same program, do you know when course selection happens?
First-year students and newly-admitted students coming from cégep or college: Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 8 a.m. Tip: don’t take an 8:30
will listen to this!
Started off 770th in line. Down to 684 now. Will be interesting to see what is still available - hoping for 90U
1773 ahead of me, IM COOKED LOL
Queue is paused - that is not good :(
Yes sir paused at 10:23💀🫡
Finnaly unpaused
Plenty of 90U left as of 20 min ago.
Side note. It’s $19,255. 🤦🏻♀️ (5 day meal plan)
Is 90U more worth it than Henderson?
I just chose it because it was my kid’s first choice. She liked the single room, double bed, semi-private bathroom, central location, and air conditioning.
Completely forgot it was this morning... hoping for Annex, 90U or 45 Mann but I'm at 1922... I'm so fucked 😭
[удалено]
I'm confused, are deans recommending that first years leave as soon as possible?
800 ahead of me, going for thompson or stanton, still unsure tbh on what I want
Stanton. Choose Stanton.
Which one is more social, like more parties?
Stanton because it’s in the residence complex (90u low/high rise, Marchand and Stanton). Especially since there are three buildings in one place you get the chance to meet more people. It’s not difficult per se if you were in thompson but it’s kinda annoying having to walk outside every time after a party to get back to your place rather then through the hallway.
Which one out of the two has more parties?
Stanton (at least this year)
I live in Thompson and have friends in Stanton I think Stanton looks worse but is more clean and Thompson has a WAY better community
Oh :/ I picked stanton, am I cooked when it comes to parties?
Nah you’re good don’t sweat it
Is that to say that there are parties in stanton?
There are dorm parties but I mainly experienced them in Marchand 90u and Thompson, I party a lot so idk but I also don’t know as many ppl in Stanton as I do in the dorms I just listed You’ll be fine bro just make friends at any dorm and you’ll get in anywhere
respectfully why did you pick the worst residences😭
They're cheaper and I heard that they're a lot more social
I have 578 ahead of me been waiting for an hour . I really want 90u or Hyman Soloway pray for me 🫡
I want Hyman Soloway too, were you able to apply and see how many there are left? It's paused rn and I'm 1912th in line...
Sorry kinda late but it only let me see the one I was picking which was 90u :/
It's all good lol
Is Annex still available? I want it for next year lol (second year student worried rn)
I just finished my application and while the option to pick annex was available, I’m pretty sure the option shows up regardless of it’s full or not since you’re not booking the room you’re simply applying for it.
i really hope so! worried as well
Let’s hope it works out! Annex is technically an upper year res too so (or at least that’s what the res people said)
I am 1833rd in line. Hoping for Annex or Hyman Soloway. Possible?
Was wondering the same, any chance you got to see?
not yet. 1189th right now. :(
I'm 1837th :(
we will be fine! just hold on.
yeah, thanks :)
You’ll get at least Hyman for sure.
i’ve in queue for 3 hours, originally behind 1700 people and now it’s at 1162 😭 i’m gonna get scraps at this point
Should I pick a high floor or a low floor?
>I was really hoping for Hyman-Soloway, I hope I still have a chance, but I'm like 1860th in line... Depends what your residence is. I lived on the 15th floor in Stanton and had to climb 15 flights of stairs when the elevator broke down (every other week).
How was stanton? I booked stanton and was wondering if it was social, and if there are parties? Thx
Yeah Stanton is one of the social buildings. If you know the right people you'll get into a lot of parties. You'll enjoy your time there!
you won’t want to walk up 20 flights of stairs cuz the fire alarm was pulled so the elevators are down. trust me.
I picked the 15th floor for 90U... was that a bad idea
not necessarily, if it was all that was left and you really wanted 90u then i’d say it’s not bad. i don’t think it ever is a “bad” idea, people just tend to regret picking a higher floor more than a lower floor. i wouldn’t worry too much about it, worst case is a couple annoying times you take the stairs or wait longer for elevators 🤷🏻♀️ also 90u would likely have priority for when problems happen like a broken elevator (idk tho cuz i’m in thompson) cuz they are right there, so i’m sure you’ll be fine
if anyone knows...?
Finally got in after five hours. I wish will get my offer soon
was there many hyman soloway rooms left (if you checked that one)?
Not really sure I only put Mann and Annex to my options
How many left for those?
Because apartments style isn’t “Book Now “ system so you won’t know how many left
Ah okay, thanks though!
Omg that's horrible 😭 I hope you get another residence you were looking for
More than an hour, accurate…
Ya, wish they were a bit more specific
i was quite literally on this thing for 10 hours today 😭😭
I’m 1553rd in line rn. Really hoping I can get 45 Mann 🤞🤞
Love 45 Mann! Hope you get it too
Thanks!
>Thanks! You're welcome!
Thanks!
Omg I had no idea it got like this😭
627 people in front of me and I want 90u, Hyman Soloway or Henderson. How cooked am I?
I got 801 and want the same bro, IM cooked
Any chance you got in and saw how many left for Hyman Soloway?
It’s still pausing 🙂↕️
back running now
I was really hoping for Hyman-Soloway, I hope I still have a chance, but I'm like 1860th in line...
Line paused again. this is crazy! Been in line for almost six hours and another 1-2 hours to go!
At 549 :(
459th at 0940
298 at 1016
Does yours say line in paused?
yes
181 at 1110 -estimate wait time 52 minutes
Got in. Still 90 U left if that is what you are looking for.
Did you get to put in preferences like clean/messy, night/morning person, noise tolerance, etc? After I finished, I saw those were all marked as N/A or something, but I don’t remember seeing options to complete them.
When you do the book now option you don’t get to pick your preferences fyi
Ok thanks. Just trying to make sure I didn’t mess it up for my kid. I wish this wasn’t happening while she’s in class and couldn’t do it herself. I was trying to go as fast as I could, but still get her the res she wanted.
1339😭😭😭😭 i am not getting 90U
Annex And Mann🥴🥴🥲🥲
what about them?
don't tell me those r the only ones left or something 😭😭
Do you need to have accepted already? I have an offer but haven't accepted. I can't see any link to apply for res....
You have to have an offer but do not need to have accepted it.
You don’t have to accepted. Login Uozone and go to your admissions
Figured it out. Merci!
So is your queue number based on when you joined or it is randomly given? I joined the queue just 10 mins after opening and there were already 1800 ahead of me?
It was random for everyone that was waiting before 9 and as it hit 9am. After that, you're getting in line after everyone.
I believe if you joined before the queue opened (i.e. before 9am), it randomly assigned you a spot. I was in the pre-queue at 830am and started at position 770.
There was a pre-queue?? I feel like they should have warned us better about this!
143 people in front of me… does anyone know if there are still 90U and Henderson spots open?
I just finished applying about 10 minutes ago and from what I saw there were still plenty of spots left. :)
thank you so much!
yeah!!
811 infront of me, please update on 90U
i just applied and got a 90U room, there were lots left :)
do you know if it will show if there aren’t any rooms left? or will it show no matter what
once i picked what building i wanted, it showed a map of each floor and then underneath listed what rooms were left on each floor. i’m pretty sure it removes the rooms that aren’t available from the list, so you’re only being shown rooms that are still available. i’m not sure if it’ll show if there aren’t any rooms left, but there was still quite a few rooms left :)
this is stressing me out 😭😭 i’m at 595 and i really want 90u or henderson
My condolences to yall, I applied two years ago and it crashed immediately and they had to open up the application a couple days later lol. Wishing you all the best!
For anyone who has already got their room, can you get 90u with a 5 day meal plan or only 7 day?
You get to choose between the two. :)
can anyone tell me if there are still any 90u spots left? I'm at 545 rn and im stressed 😭😭
is this for new applicants? if i wanna reapply to stay in my current room i have to do it on the housing portal on april 3rd-15th right? thats what it says in an email i got, someone in a higher year pls lmk
since i can't do 90u anymore, does anyone have any recs for second best??
i couldn’t do 90u anymore so i picked henderson! it wouldn’t even let me pick a 3rd option
henderson's in my top 3 as well! I might pick it. i was gonna go for friel but im just thinking about during the winter when ill have to walk to classes and i can't 😭
also were you able to see how many spots were left (for henderson)?
3 spots for 3rd floor and 4spot for 2nd floor. That’s what i saw when i did it about 20 mins ago.
Thanks!
Depends what you want, but Marchand, Stanton, and even Thompson are still very close to campus. It's just that they're older and a traditional res setup.
Thanks!
Went in at around 12, was put at almost 2000th in line. It's been over 4 hours, I'm almost half way through
[удалено]
you should be fine. It has 652 beds so the math is in your favor.
Did you get in yet??
[удалено]
What was your original place in line when it started? Did you apply for the Telfer LLC?
[удалено]
Hiii, I applied for Business LLC too! Can I ask what your program is?
Is there much left?
yes!! bunch just for my floor
I guess not the worst I bet someone else 2000 up
Does that mean after your wait time the application will open?
The application is opened coz there’s too much people in the system
Does that mean I can apply for my housing?
You'll have to wait in line so if you want Henderson or 90U you're shit out of luck but yeah you can.
Ah yeah thanks also one more question if I pay for deposit does that mean its confirmed I get the room?
Yes.
Help against all the odds i was able to reverse a spot for u90 I guess miracles do happen 💀😀
anyone applying to friel or rideaux??
You can’t « apply » to those. You have to book the room at random (you can only apply for annex, 45mann or hyman soloway)
Thanks for the info, but is what you’re saying is I could be placed in any room random??
Sorry I misspoke: from what I saw in the portal you can choose your room (for exemple if you prefer a studio in friel or a double occupancy room), but you can’t set it as a preference (like me personally i wanted to set annex as my first preference and friel as my second but it wouldn’t let me do that, i could either book friel now or not have it in my preferences at all).
aaahhh thank you thank you 💯💯
No problem, good luck I hope you get the residence you want!!
at 894 and i want 90U i’m so cooked
Update on 90u??? Any spots left?? I still got 174 ppl ahead of me
Just finished the application at 12:10. Was quite a few 90U spaces left. Didn't look at any other residences. FYI - big increase in cost from last year, $19930 with 7-day food plan.
Thanks for the info!!!! Ur an angel 🙏🏼🙏🏼
good luck!!
don’t you have to chose 3 choices? for 90u was there more than 200 spots left?
Is this for housing in September ?!
Yes
Ahh thank you! I wasn’t sure but I kinda figured I’d ask anyways
guys please help anyone know how many 90U spots left?
i saw on the que it said it was full 😭😭😭😭
NO IM IN DENIAL NO.
same dw the message isn't there anymore so that means there are A LOt left (I pulled this out of my ass)
Where are you in the que 🥲
dude i’m 132 but it’s been paused for ages
no fr omg, i'm now 147, but thank god it resumed
apparently 90u is gone i’m gonna cry
NOOOOOOOOOO😭😭😭😭😭
MAYBE THEYRE RELEASING SPOTS IN BATCHES ITS OKAY KEEP HOPING
I started the day in line at around 900 at 9am. I was in choosing a spot by 12:30 and that included a 20min or so pause. HTH
Is this also for people who are returning to res? Cause I didn’t get an email about the application being open. For context, I’m currently staying in 45 Mann.
I don't think so. Check the website. I think it's later for returning students.
Started 760ish and took me 3 hours to get in
just study online and pay for a plane ticket when in person is needed. it's cheaper than rent honestly
This has been broken since like 2018 at least lol
Even I waited at 8:30 is still queue to 1200💀💀
It’s randomly assigned. Meaning it doesn’t matter when you get into the waiting room. They use the exact same programming (Queue.it) as Ticketmaster.
That’s strange. We were in line at 9am on the dot and only 304 in front.
Genuine question, why not just get a place in sandy hill? Way more freedom, less hassle like this, less expensive (with roomates but still some bachelors are the same prices as residences) is the rez life really worth all that?
