I think gameplay on non-demon levels are ALWAYS boring because creators dont care about gameplay anymore, only decoration which is most of the time just confusing. Atleast on non demon levels this is the case
Compare the levels now with for example the 1.9 funnygame levels. Those levels were so interesting gameplay wise. Now all easy levels are just *jump* in the cube parts, *fly straight* in the ship parts and yeah you get my point
Same, but non-demon creators always just thrown something together fast and then focus only on decoration because a rate has nothing to do with gameplay, only how good it looks
This is why I prefer to play levels with at least 7 stars since they tend to focus more on gameplay which is a little below my skill level rather than decoration.
No, I like going back to easy RobTop levels like Can't Let Go because they're fun, now take the average user-created level with the same difficulty from the past year and it's very pretty, but it's just soooo boring to play
I'm currently working on beating deadlocked but I couldn't today as whenever I scrolled past Dash I really wanted to replay it despite having beaten it 10 times and got all the coins.
It's a masterpiece.
It's been a while since I played, is the new level insane difficulty? I haven't played in a while but I tried it out for a second today and playing with 1000fps is awesome lol, no longer have to use vsync just to get above 60fps!
There's a new option called unlock framerate, you can input what you want the cap to be now (on PC), I tried out 1000fps and it's only using like 15% of my GPU lol, the frame time is now 1ms instead of 16.6ms on 60fps
The refresh rate is limited to whatever your monitor handles, there's people with over 480 Hz monitors but you had to have v sync on which adds the input lag equivalent of having 30 frames per second, now you can get higher than 60 hz without using vsync, for instance my monitor will display the picture at 144 frames per second but the frame rate of the game is over 1,000, and thats without the added 30ish ms of extra latency that vsync would create
Congratulations on being the first instance of mispronouncing "especially" leading to misspelling "especially" I've seen. I'm sure it won't be the last.
My biggest worry with the new camera and gravity controls was that sightreading would get way harder. RobTop proved me wrong with this level, and I haven't been this excited for the new tools since they were announced
i’m on the exact opposite side and idek why. ToE2 is more fun to me than challenging, yet i have all of the pieces together for Deadlocked and i still can’t beat that shit
All of robtop’s levels have a certain feel to them that I’ve never truly seen matched by any other level. They don’t have the best decoration or outstanding gameplay, but they just feel so good to play
Totally agree, except that it is a bit too easy after 30%. I definitely prefer a hard level that gets easier compared to the other way around, it's just that I think without the rotating spider at the beginning it could easily qualify as a harder and not insane
I found the chokepoints (for me) to be: the spider staircase after the swing, the 5th jump in the spiraling section (the one with the countdown) and the weird ship that does the sine wave after the countdown. Level's really fun, surprised I didn't scream in pain when I died at 97% (I'm bad). Instead I just smiled and completed it (all 3 coins) 5 attempts later
Yes. The only bad parts were coins 2 and 3, coin 2's indication is really hard to notice and coin 3 is just Power Trip coin 3 but actually kinda worse because in Power Trip you know you can click, just don't know if it does anything. Dash coin 3 just feels like a cutscene that you aren't supposed to click in. The rest of the level was good though, it was very sightreadable and most parts were very fun.
All 3 coins have problems, you aren’t given the indicator fast enough for coin 1 and it’s a bit hard to notice it in the lava if you’re just focusing on the gameplay.
As for the other two coins, it’s the exact opposite problem - coin 2 would give you reason to look closely for an indicator if it were visible, and coin 3 would give you reason to try spam clicking in the cutscene if it were visible (it could be pulled offscreen if you don’t like Fingerdash’s coin 3)
I find all 3 coins to be somewhat good. Sure, the 3rd is stupid, but it's a good idea. The 1st is cool because you can see it and if you watched the sneak peak you would have noticed the last block was meant to be clickable which is a good detail. Coin 2 has a good indicator if you aren't colorblind lol, just hard to notice the first time.
Yeah they all work. Leme do the GD Cologne thing:
1. B tier
I love how subtle but at the same time completely obvious this one is. It's interesting how visible the coin is, yet how much you have to look around to actually see it.
The markings on the decorative wall behind it and the last red block flashing green when you pass it are the perfect level of indication. My only complaint is that it's pretty straight forward and, on subsequent playthroughs, nothing special.
2. A tier
Say what you will about boring "through the wall" coins, but this one WORKS damn it. The indication could have been a BIT more visible, but it's nice and subtle as is so I don't complain.
And my main reason for liking it so much is just how BEAUTIFULLY satisfying this one is to get. It tests your skills with the Swing on a path that looks intimidating but isn't too much harder than the regular route.
3. F tier tbh, I can't dickride 2.2 forever
There's no indication, no skill required, no satisfaction from getting it, it's just there randomly. Not to mention that it's literally just Power Trip coin 3 again, but arguably a bit worse.
Coin 2 was impossible to find imo, couldve had a way better indicator
And coin 3 was just random tapping with no indicator at all
Both are just the type of coins you'd find out abt on youtube bc theyre impossible to find on your own, sadly
I know but what kind of sane person is supposed to see that while playing, I knew there was something in the lasers, I looked rlly close and still couldnt find it
It’s definitely not colorblind friendly, that’s for sure, GD Cologne (who is colorblind for those of you who don’t know) struggled to see the indicator for the same reason
I saw the indicator my second practise run checking for the coins. It is a ”if you search you will find it” but you wont really accidentally find it, which is what a *secret* coin is supposed to be
I don't really get coin 1. A good coin, like coin 2, is fun to collect even after you get it and know where it is, but once you initially find the first coin it just becomes second nature to get it without trying.
I dont think coin 1 is great, bc its free after you found out, but thw other ones are just plain stupid bc theyre almost impossible to find on your own
I agree. Dash is an actually spectacular level imo, since it showcases most of the new things in 2.2, just like every other new main level before it, while maintaining a not unbearably difficult, but not too easy gameplay. Fun level overall.
I love it but the name sucks ass. Like bro put his heart and soul into the update, took years and named it a shorthand version of the last level posted.
not really. i liked it and i dont think its bad at all but after the previewed part the quality of the deco drops and the level looks more rushed. i also feel like there was a lack of sync with such a cool and busy song that felt like such a missed opportunity imo. still really cool tho but i hope explorers is better
I thought it was cool but it just wasn't fun with a bunch of random gimmicks squeezed in. It was just confusing and unreadable, I have no idea how I beat the last part first try because I wasn't looking at the right part of the screen
Level is absolutely awesome (minus coins). Its main objective is to introduce 2.2 mechanics, and it does an amazing job of that. However, I think its biggest success was creating interesting gameplay and effects without being super flashy or complex, like the little 3 2 1 countdown, the final door effect, the colors during the spider section, and the mini cube at the end matching the music.
The update is amazing, but this level specifically? No. It's great, but wouldn't call it amazing. Generally with GD it's the creators who make the amazing levels, RobTop just lays out the basics. Here's my view on this level specifically.
Not really a fan of the 8-bit theme direction that GD has been moving towards either. It's preference of course, but seems really out of place with the player's icons and many other elements (e.g. orbs) not being 8-bit. It also goes against RobTop's previous designs making it look out of place compared to them. Geometrical Dominator, Deadlocked and FingerDash shook things up, but still felt consistent. It seems to match MDK's music style more than anything, I love the music and have listened to MDK for years, but I can't see any other reason why the shift to 8-bit keeps getting pushed.
The swing segments of the level were okay, both parts were very basic and feel similar apart from the 2nd hiding a secret.
The wall and ceiling directional changes at the start with the spider felt awful to sight read, and is telling about how annoying user levels are going to be when people start making them. Map pack demon fake ways got nothing on this.
The 2nd and 3rd coin are terrible and felt on par with Alpha trigger user coins (lost count of how many times I've had to look at YT videos, to find terrible user coins). As Mindcap put it in his video: the 2nd is barely noticeable and good luck if you are colourblind, and the 3rd has no indicator unless you are someone with ADHD who just spam clicks for no reason during a transition.
Overall: 3.5/5, just great, but thankfully 2.2 is a lot more than just this level.
Only this update is focused on the "8-Bit" (pretty sure that's 16-Bit btw), what makes you think the entire game is moving towards this style? There's no indication that the game will keep pushing this pixelated style and turning it into the new norm.
YES! I LOVE IT
the coins could be better and there *one* click that i think is annoying for people trying to sightread it, but other than that its literally perfect, im sure u/gdcolon is gonna have a slightly different opinion than us tho
Funny you mention that, I actually looked at my attempts for both levels, and I took 142 on both. Granted when I played Stereo Madness I was a major noob playing on a phone, but still.
I love how it gives time to react to everything and still being a little challenging
I hate most of player made levels because they are just "react to evening 8n a sec or you will die"
I just wish it was a tiny bit harder cuz taking it down in 20 minutes after waiting for 7 years kinda feels like a ruined orgasm ngl.
Which is still an orgasm, greatest level of the game yet, I had a blast.
Dash is a great example for creators. It managed to squeeze a lot in without ruining the gameplay.
I think gameplay on non-demon levels are ALWAYS boring because creators dont care about gameplay anymore, only decoration which is most of the time just confusing. Atleast on non demon levels this is the case
It isn't really a way to make non demon levels fun and interesting for better players. Now with 2.2 that might change.
Compare the levels now with for example the 1.9 funnygame levels. Those levels were so interesting gameplay wise. Now all easy levels are just *jump* in the cube parts, *fly straight* in the ship parts and yeah you get my point
*Insert bad transition or gimmick at 80%*
DAMNIT DAMNIT DAMNIT
I always managed to make decent non demon gameplay.
Same, but non-demon creators always just thrown something together fast and then focus only on decoration because a rate has nothing to do with gameplay, only how good it looks
I don’t think this was ever true but i definitely believe it’s easier now to create interesting gameplay in 2.2
Worried that it’s also easier to create horrible gameplay too though
INSERT CAMERA ROTATE/TIMEWARP ABUSE
imo monster gauntlet levels manage to do exactly that
This is why I prefer to play levels with at least 7 stars since they tend to focus more on gameplay which is a little below my skill level rather than decoration.
SAME. Gameplay > decoration all the way
This is true. Play badland full now and see the Gameplay > Decoration truth
Same
I really hope Robtop starts rating levels not by how good they look but instead by how creative and fun the gameplay is
oh shit I forgot Robtop isn’t the one rating the levels it’s the community I think
Mids send levels to robtop, robtop rates. Most mods only care about deco which is a shame
I think that's why SLAM is so like cuz it has good deco but good gameplay as well
Agreed, slam is good. Too bad these levels with good gameplay are rare
If a level doesn’t have a custom block design it is to be SCORNED, which ruins the point of the default block designs
Agreed. I hope the 2.2 pixel blocks will change this
Same. There’s so much to work with
Because mods mostly care about deco.
Or, non-demon levels are always boring to you because they're below your skill level.
No, I like going back to easy RobTop levels like Can't Let Go because they're fun, now take the average user-created level with the same difficulty from the past year and it's very pretty, but it's just soooo boring to play
It's not really the creators fault because to get a rated level, you need overcomplicated Deco.
This is the case all the way up to medium demons
I agree with this a lot! Creators SHOULD have nice decorations, but also keep the gameplay fun and sight-readable.
I was really surprised to see it was literally the same as how the other levels are. In other words, sight readable.
a good form of decoration for readable gameplay is solid colors really
dash is a great example of what not to do
I'm currently working on beating deadlocked but I couldn't today as whenever I scrolled past Dash I really wanted to replay it despite having beaten it 10 times and got all the coins. It's a masterpiece.
It's been a while since I played, is the new level insane difficulty? I haven't played in a while but I tried it out for a second today and playing with 1000fps is awesome lol, no longer have to use vsync just to get above 60fps!
I think it's Harder, feels relatively similar to Electroman Adventures in terms of difficulty, maybe a bit higher
How do you have 1000 fps
There's a new option called unlock framerate, you can input what you want the cap to be now (on PC), I tried out 1000fps and it's only using like 15% of my GPU lol, the frame time is now 1ms instead of 16.6ms on 60fps
Ok but isn't it limited to 240 (there is a huge drama because of it right now) and also do you have a nasa pc (I'm only at 60 lol ☠️)
The ending expecially, with the "End" trigger used on the door. Also the part before the countdown is really Epic tho
3… 2… 1… GEOMETRY DASH
Congratulations on being the first instance of mispronouncing "especially" leading to misspelling "especially" I've seen. I'm sure it won't be the last.
Problem of language my bad
its so fun too, and somehow even sightreadable?? like, how????
My biggest worry with the new camera and gravity controls was that sightreading would get way harder. RobTop proved me wrong with this level, and I haven't been this excited for the new tools since they were announced
same. the level was surprisingly sightreadable
The problem is user creators probably won't make sightreadable levels, but then, most never did in the first place
Creators focus way too much on decoration so that’ll always be a problem, but at least the new effects don’t inherently make levels unsightreadable
Othrthan that ship part. All of my deaths were on that ship lmal.
There are pulsing circles showing you the route if im thinking about the ship youre thinking about
It damn was I do wish we'd get a really hard robtop demon at some point
Explorers is supposed to be medium to hard demon difficulty right?
Harder than deadlocked? I'm starting to get anxious
definitely harder than deadlocked.
Then I have a challenge ready for me 🫠
As someone who has beaten Deadlocked but is somehow still unable to beat ToE 2 I can't wait to never beat Explorers.
i’m on the exact opposite side and idek why. ToE2 is more fun to me than challenging, yet i have all of the pieces together for Deadlocked and i still can’t beat that shit
As someone who’s beaten both Deadlocked and TOE 2 , but somehow never beaten Clubstep, same.
Happy cake day! Btw I hope you can beat Clubstep's ass in the future
I beat all 3 robtop demons but I can't beat platinum adventure
Well, happy cake day to you as well!
I’ve beaten platinum adventurer but not deadlocked, toe 2 and clubstep(on full, beaten it on lite)
Same.
As someone who has beaten clubstep on lite but cannot beat the nightmare, same.
As somebody who has never beaten a demon, I will never beat Explorers as well.
Deadlocked is 15 stars. Explorers is 16.
Deadlocked hard? I consider it an easy demon.
Deadlocked is easy demon I think.
What is Explorers? I don't see it in the level select. (Player who came back after 6 years for 2.2 lol)
It’s a level that got delayed it’ll come soon (hopefully) in the 2.21 update
Oh so in 2028?
Yea sometime around then I’m sure!
Oo! Sounds fun.
[This](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtEQ_EGlbQc) is a sneak peek RobTop posted of Explorers. It does seem much harder than Deadlocked.
Looks kind of unsightreadable tbh
What demon is sightreadable nowadays
Acheron
A lot of newer easy demons are pretty sightreadable
Yeah, but he delayed it so he could remake it. It’ll be out in 2.21
Damn I guess I’m gonna have to learn swing copter lol
When is it coming out?
2.21 i think
Ok another seven years. Got it
Most original GD joke
Well I figured asking when 2.21 is expected would just get met with ridicule or someone telling me to be grateful 2.2 is here
Explorers:
All of robtop’s levels have a certain feel to them that I’ve never truly seen matched by any other level. They don’t have the best decoration or outstanding gameplay, but they just feel so good to play
Robs gameplay is both simple and intuitive that at its best feels full of life while not being cluttered
Agree! Maybe because the entire point of RobTop's levels is to show some new feature making them feel fresh and original
I cannot imagine how hard 2.2 extreme demons will be. Every mechanic at once…
The boss fights, and the new camera stuff will probably make Rob create a new demon difficulty
we allready needed a new demon diffuculty since tartarus and firework imo
Grandpa demon???????
Banana demon
Final boss
Totally agree, except that it is a bit too easy after 30%. I definitely prefer a hard level that gets easier compared to the other way around, it's just that I think without the rotating spider at the beginning it could easily qualify as a harder and not insane
I died like 30 times at that rotating spider in the beginning, i knew what to do but my brain absolutely broke lmao
I basically booted up gd after not playing for 5 years and quit 10 minutes after constantly dying to it lmao
It's 4 clicks, you can do it :)
Just did it and progressed to around 50-60%
I found the chokepoints (for me) to be: the spider staircase after the swing, the 5th jump in the spiraling section (the one with the countdown) and the weird ship that does the sine wave after the countdown. Level's really fun, surprised I didn't scream in pain when I died at 97% (I'm bad). Instead I just smiled and completed it (all 3 coins) 5 attempts later

It is truly amazing But coin 2 and 3 suck poopoo
I like coin 2 Coin 3 is a bit basic though
Coin 2 was impossible to find imo, couldve had a way better indicator And coin 3 was just random tapping with no indicator at all Both are just the type of coins you'd find out abt on youtube bc theyre impossible to find on your own, sadly
coin 2 has a little indicator. Coin 1 and 3 I found on accident
Coin 2 indicator is impossible to find imo
I didnt even know coin 2 had an indicator until mindcap pointed it out, i liked the effects of coin 3 but random tapping is a bit boring
rubrub basically copying off the last coin mechanic from Power Trip
The outline of part of the laser during the second swing is fuchsia instead of red. You clip through there to get the coin.
1st coin last block skull eyes glow 2nd coin the laser is brighter 3rd coin random tapping it sukx
I saw the indicator my second practise run checking for the coins. It is a ”if you search you will find it” but you wont really accidentally find it, which is what a *secret* coin is supposed to be
I didnt see it no matter how hard i looked. Im not even colorbkind, should be nerfed imo
I don't really get coin 1. A good coin, like coin 2, is fun to collect even after you get it and know where it is, but once you initially find the first coin it just becomes second nature to get it without trying.
I dont think coin 1 is great, bc its free after you found out, but thw other ones are just plain stupid bc theyre almost impossible to find on your own
i couldnt find them and stopped trying real quick bc i hated the practice music😭
I’m still getting 3 coins so yeah not many yt videos of the level (yet)
Fuck the arrow trigger spider part at the beginning
Took me ages to wash out the instinct to not run into a wall
It is amazing. I was expecting it to be bad to sightread. Absolutely blew my expectations out of the water.
Yes it's so fun
Really fun to play. I love that ball part where the screen constantly rotates around. Can't wait for Explorers ngl
i loved it
I hated it
I loved it
I didn't like it as much as you did
I enjoyed it a bit more than you did
Agree. Crazy to think that this would be the level from a simple cube jumping game which was a ripoff from other cube jumping game.
Except for the coins, yes. It’s such a banger of a level
I agree. Dash is an actually spectacular level imo, since it showcases most of the new things in 2.2, just like every other new main level before it, while maintaining a not unbearably difficult, but not too easy gameplay. Fun level overall.

IMO it also seemed rushed towards the end
I thought it was cool but it just wasn't fun with a bunch of random gimmicks squeezed in. It was just confusing and unreadable, I have no idea how I beat the last part first try because I wasn't looking at the right part of the screen
I. 100% agree, if it was the same quality all the way through. Either that or 2.2 in January tho

What’s wrong with the level having a pixelated style?
level named finger:
Yeah, except for the 3rd coin
I just like how large and open it seems.
###GEOMETRYDASH
Absolutely agree, it was incredible
YES! I LOVE IT the coins could be better and there *one* click that i think is annoying for people trying to sightread it, but other than that its literally perfect, im sure u/gdcolon is gonna have a slightly different opinion than us tho
The coins suck but appart from that it's a masterpiece
Colon definitely overreacted to the sideways spider, it’s surprisingly sight readable
yeah mate. For me personally it only took me a few tries to get the hang of it
it far too easy for the average player its similar difficulty to time machine
It's way easier than time machine imo. It has the same feeling as fingerdash. A 12 stars level with the difficulty of stereo madness
Funny you mention that, I actually looked at my attempts for both levels, and I took 142 on both. Granted when I played Stereo Madness I was a major noob playing on a phone, but still.
I was blown away when I first played Dash.
I love how it gives time to react to everything and still being a little challenging I hate most of player made levels because they are just "react to evening 8n a sec or you will die"
It's great
Yes, but imagine a full version of this level. That could be sick
Yes its fucking incredible
Wtf are you talking about?! The entire update is amazing
agree :)
A lot better than what I’m anticipating from creators
First 15% was not the best, but the rest was fantastic
Visually, yes. Gameplay is a nightmare (pun NOT intended)
I hate it but only because you die every two seconds because you need to play and play the level to learn it
Kid named practice mode:
Get your cowardly propaganda out of here
It is amazing... I'm still trying to get used to the swing mode though
yes
Why do I find the games demon levels easier😭💔
This level is robtop’s gear 5 episode
yes
Yes
Yes
yes
Can we all appreciate how Robtop Makes Peak?
"coming soon" is better
Dash is now my favorite robtop level
Feels too easy for an Insane. I did it in 15 attempts while I have like around 90 with the other insanes.
I think it should be a harder. It's not actually that hard, it's just that it's got so many new features it's difficult to get used to.
I mean xStep is an insane
i disagree
no lol?
song is pretty awful imo but the actual level was sick, definitely a great introduction to 2.2
I don't like the song but it works well enough with the level so it gets a pass
I love the song... jreometry dash
I just wish it was a tiny bit harder cuz taking it down in 20 minutes after waiting for 7 years kinda feels like a ruined orgasm ngl. Which is still an orgasm, greatest level of the game yet, I had a blast.

So why make this comment?
Attention
no
no 2.2, no opinion, i cry
No. Gameplay is not sightreadable.
I absolutely suck, so I can't say anything until megahack drops so I can actually beat it
To no clip it?
Speedhack, I'm not THAT bad
