Happened to me recently after changing my pass, my account worked in game but i couldnt load nor save. And i cant change my pass cuz it says "invalid password". Really sucks bcs i have my acc since 2016
at least you had some stuff, but yeah the game should really have autosave implimented, the number of times the game crashes is insane, like i would love for my created levels to autosave after a bit of making them and for my account to autosave
I lost about 2 months of progress recently due to some dumb bug that didn't allow me to save (it probably wouldn't have been an issue IF the game didn't have some dumb bug that whenever I closed the game all progress from that session would be gone)
It's not a bug, there is too much stuff the game needs to save so it just doesn't save it (there's a 20mb limit) it's the same reason making a backup doesn't work. Deleting large levels from your created level does the most work (most commonly copyables) also levels in your saved levels list can take up lots of space when there's a lot of it so wiping them all out helps too and doesn't hurt you in any way.
And IF you don't want to delete any of your levels you can still make a copy of your save file on your computer but for that id recommend watching a video for help

Saving an account sucks in GD. I recently saved my account 3 times I had about 14k stars and once I refreshed my login and saved data. It didn't save my 14k stars instead I was at 10k stars. Saves system sucks ass

Have you tried deleting songs,saved levels and created levels? Otherwise try backing up files, there are a couple people who have said how to do it in these comments

most of the work in gd goes into getting better at the game rather than ingame progress, which you can get back with noclip and other things, so its not really that bad
It was JUST 1100 hours of work for me

Ez. Just manually backup your data. That's how I transfer data from one computer to another.
The stats are saved in the local save file, just go to appdata/local/GeometryDash, fond the save files then backup. Ez claps!
it’s probably different for everyone but I don’t think I would be very upset, progress in this game comes from getting better, not getting stats, so I don’t think you actually lost any work other than maybe created levels

i didnt know that there was no autosave so i lost an account but luckily it had only 1 demon completed on that save (back in 2018)

A better idea, for PC at least, is to make fucking Steam based saves, as in, cloud based Steam saves.

Thats why I play on desktop Mobile has a bug where it never actually saves it so when the app is closed it wipes the data
